Chapter 8 - Final Day For The Child of Madness

Sunny was looking at the King and Queen of the mountains thankfully the Overlord wasn't there because even with [The Shadow] and [Child of Madness] sunny didn't know if he could even damage an awakened titan because it is leagues stronger than the seven prince's and now he was looking at two awakened terror's and from the looks of it seems that sunny will probably get torn apart and they healed.

But before sunny could even move he was immediately thrown into a wall getting his head slammed over and over again and to make it worse the bastard was crushing his soul.

Immediately [Child of Madness] was on full display letting sunny get out of the grasp of the King.

But it wasn't over yet the Queen grabbed sunnys legs her long and sharp claws piercing into sunnys flesh and bones crushing and ripping them apart but [The Shadow] was healing sunny just slightly faster than any damage could appear so it was an endless loop of torture.

While sunny was getting ripped piece by piece the King joined in again and started eating sunny alive.

Sunny was screaming and screeching his mind could only think of one thing.

'Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill.'

'I must kill them all, i must live.'

So using all his might sunny bit down hard on the mountain Kings arms his teeth were breaking but that didn't matter the shadows were healing it anyways.

Biting harder sunny finally penetrated the it's tough skin getting into its flesh and using all his might biting down like a hungry wolf sunny closed his mouth ripping out the Kings flesh making it scream loudly alerting the Queen which she immediately put sunnys lower half into her mouth trying to eat sunny alive and the King did the same putting sunnys top half into his mouth.

They were both biting hard on sunnys body but he wasn't close to giving up sunny wasn't ready and will never ever be close to giving up he will win and will never lose to a weakling like a awakened terror's that was to pathetic he needed to die either a peaceful death or while killing something many times greater than him to complete a goal.

So after his hands were fully healed sunny grabbed onto the Kings tongue using both he ripped it apart it now looked like a snakes tongue and using all his might ripped it out making the King release sunny.

Using this perfect opportunity sunny grabbed his short sword that was laying on the ground and pulling himself up stabbed the Queen's eye.

Sunny pushed it further and further until it was fully inside the large eye and then sunny plunged his hand into the Queens eye pulling it out and making the Queen release his lower body but to sunnys dismay his legs below the knee was missing soon shadows gathered at sunnys missing leg and started to heal sunny.

Both the terror's were obviously in hell of pain and agony sunny was too but he was biting his tongue not wanting to show his weak side after a couple seconds his leg was there just not fully intact that'd take atleast a couple more seconds, seconds sunny didn't have so rushing to the dead corpse of hero sunny stole his sword.

Rushing towards the legs of the Queen he took is revenge by cutting her legs sunny thought it looked cool until he noticed the sword was now broken.

'Geez swordsmiths should stop cutting corners seriously.'

(In general people shouldn't cut corners!)

Sunny was irritated he needed to use his hands to fight such ugly monstrosities sunny wasn't handsome but he was certainly not ugly well it all came from his mother that looked like an Angel.

When sunny was about to beat the literal life out of the mountain Queen her husband the King stepped in like a Knig- Monster in Shi- Ugly armor.

The king bit off sunnys hand which greatly maddened him so using one hand sunny started boxing with a creature stronger than him.

Sunny was obviously going to cheat so sunny quite literally put dirt in the creature's eye it didn't hurt much just uncomfortable so using that chance sunny punched one of the creature's open eye.

Sunny using this clear advantage started punching every single one of the creatures eye whilst it was on a stance that lowered it's head.

(Sunny would make Toby Maguire spider —man proud🥲)

Grabbing a rock sunny started destroying each and every — single one of the Kings eye turning it completely blind if it wasn't blind enough before now it had literally no eye.

Getting ontop of the creatures head sunny started punching the part where the creature's brain was at.

After a literal minute of just relentless punching breaking both his and its bones sunny finally broke the Kings skull and sunny started destroying it's brain.

Brain was plattering everywhere some piece even got into sunnys mouth.

'Disgusting.'

[You have slain awakened terror, Mountain King.]

(Is ts gore?)

Sunny leapt off out of the kings skull sunny noticed the sun was coming up so he seriously needed to get the fuck away but he still hasn't killed the Queen yet.

Sunny immediately had a brilliant idea getting all of the bloodbane which was enough to fill an entire bag sunny squuezed all of them into a larger flask the smell was already atrociously terrible [The Shadow] attribute quite literally had to adapt sunny to the bad smell it was that bad and the taste and it's affect would be enough to kill even an awakened terror but obviously sunny needed to apply it to something sharp so that it would go inside the Queens system.

Sunny looked at hero and noticed his short short was still there taking it out sunny applied the bloodbane poison and started stabbing the Queen and with each stab sunny would apply new poison and poured some into the wound for... Safe measures.

Soon enough the bitch was basically a fountain of ever — flowing blood even her previous and newer wounds were flowing with blood.

Soon enough the familiar voice of the spell resounded:

[You have slain awakened terror, Mountain Queen.]

The suns radiant light filled the cave letting sunny know the Overlord was close and the end even closer.

***

A lonesome dark mountain stood tall against the raging winds.

Jagged and proud, it dwarfed other peaks of the mountain chain, cutting the sunny sky with its sharp edges. A radiant sun bathed its slopes in the radiant, golden light.

Under that light, a young man with pale skin and black hair reached the peak of the mountain. However, his looks didn't match the magnificence of the scene: slightly wounded and staggering every now and then.

The young man looked like a walking semi — half dead corpse.

His coarse tunic and cloak were torn and smeared with blood. His sunken eyes were cloudy and lifeless. His body was bruised, beaten and cut. There were specks of bloody foam on his lips.

He was hunched over, cradling the left side of his chest. Each step caused him to moan, ragged breath barely escaping through gritted teeth.

Sunny was hurting all over. But most of all, he was kinda hungry he hasn't eaten anything good in the time in his first nightmare.

He just wanted to lie down in the snow and fall asleep.

But instead, he continued walking. Because he believed that the Nightmare will be over once he reaches the peak.

Step. Step. Another step.

Finally, he had made it.

At the highest point of the mountain, a vast expanse of flat rock was covered with snow. In the center of it, illuminated by moonlight, stood a magnificent temple. Its colossal columns and walls were cut from black marble, with exquisite reliefs decorating the stygian pediment and broad frieze. Beautiful and awesome, it looked like a palace of a dark god.

At least it did once. Now, the temple was in ruins: fractures and cracks marred the black stones, parts of the roof had collapsed, letting in ice and snow. It's tall gates were broken, as if smashed into pieces by a hand of a giant.

Still, Sunny was satisfied.

"Found you," he said in a hoarse voice.

Gathering the last of his strength, the young slave slowly limped in the direction of the ruined temple. His thoughts were muddled and confused.

He stumbled and groaned, feeling the edges of his broken ribs cutting deeper into his lungs. Blood was dripping from his mouth. Dead or not

He was getting closer and closer towards the ruins of the broken temple.

'Truth be told, nobody ever stood a chance against me i just needed [Child of Madness] to be in overdrive and i just need the surroundings to have shadows for [The Shadow] to work and im all set but it did say i was now recognized yet maybe the attribute would upgrade and i might get recognized.'

A moment later, he had already forgotten. There was only pain, the dark temple, and the overpowering desire to sleep.

Finally, Sunny reached the steps of the black temple. He started to climb them, not noticing thousands of bones that were scattered around. These bones once belonged to humans and monsters both. All of them were killed by the invisible guardians still lingering around the temple.

As Sunny was climbing the steps, one of the shapeless guardians approached him. It was ready to snuff out the spark of life that was burning weakly in the defiler's chest, but then stopped, sensing a faint, strangely familiar scent coming from his soul. The scent of divinity. Sorrowful and lonesome, the guardian moved aside, letting Sunny pass.

Oblivious, he entered the temple.

Sunny found himself in a grandiose hall. Cascades of moonlight were falling through the holes in the partially collapsed roof. Deep shadows were surrounding these circles of radiant light, not daring to touch them. The floor was covered in snow and ice.

At the far end of the hall, a large altar was cut from a single piece of black marble. It was the only thing inside the temple untouched by snow. Forgetting why he came here, Sunny headed for the altar.

He just wanted to sleep.

The altar was dry, clean, and as wide as a bed. Sunny climbed on it and lay down.

He just needed some hours of sleep then he'll continue his journey.

... If there was any journey left.

Sunny tried to close his eyes, but was stopped by a sudden noise coming from the direction of the temple's entrance. He turned his head to look, not even a little bit curious. What he saw would have sent chills running down his spine if he wasn't so cold, tired and indifferent.

Mountain Overlord was standing there, looking at him with its blind eyes. He was still massive, terrifying and revolting. Worm-like shapes were still moving frantically under its skin. It was sniffing the air, salivating.

Then it opened its maw and moved forward, slowly approaching the altar.

'What an ugly bastard,' Sunny thought and suddenly clutched his chest, convulsing in a fit of torturous coughing.

Bloody foam flew from his mouth and fell on the altar. However, the black marble soon absorbed it.

A second later, it was as pristine as it was before.

The overlord was just about to reach Sunny. It was already stretching its hands to grab him.

'I guess this is the end,' he thought, already knowing the jorney is ending

But at the last second, suddenly, the voice of the Spell resounded in the dark temple.

[You have offered yourself as a sacrifice to the gods.]

[The gods are dead, and can not hear you.]

[You soul bears the mark of divinity.]

[You are a temple slave.]

[Shadow God stirs in his eternal slumber.]

[He sends a blessing from beyond the grave.]

[Child of Shadows, receive your blessing!]

Under Sunny's astonished eyes, the shadows crowding the great hall suddenly moved, as though coming alive. Tentacles of darkness surged forward, entangling Mountain Overlord's arms and legs. The mighty titan struggled, trying to get free.

But how could it resist the power of a god?

The shadows dragged Mountain Overlord back, pulling in different directions. The titan opened its maw, and a furious howl escaped it.

The next second, its body ruptured, torn apart into pieces.

Blood, viscera and severed limbs fell on the floor in a crimson torrent. Just like that, the horrible creature was dead.

Sunny blinked.

Once again, he was alone in the ruined temple. The great hall was dark and silent.

And then the Spell whispered:

[You have slain an awakened titan, Mountain Overlord.]

[Wake up, Sunless! Your nightmare is over.]

[Prepare for appraisal…]
