Chapter 111 - Chapter 112: Rivers of Blood — The Slaughter That Shook the Pentagon to Its Core

Whoosh!

Bang!

The congressman was hurled into the air as if struck by a boulder, slamming into the wall several meters away before crashing to the floor.

Alex hadn't gone for the kill, but that one slap had nearly shattered the man's bones. He lay curled up on the ground, looking half-dead, utterly incapable of standing.

His eyes stared wide in terror at Alex. In that moment, he dared not utter another word.

"So this is what you came for today? Revenge?"

The voice of Director Hansen cut through the silence. As expected of the head of Intelligence, he still managed to maintain composure under pressure.

"I'm just here to demand justice for mutants."

Alex's face was solemn as he spoke—not just to Director Hansen, but to every powerful figure in the room.

"Half a month ago, during that meeting, a decision was made to exterminate innocent mutants. But not everyone supported that choice."

"To those who stood against it, consider yourselves lucky. You should thank your conscience. Thank your sense of justice."

"Those who voted against it get to live today. But those who voted for it? Look at the Secretary of Defense—that's your fate."

"Those who kill must be prepared to be killed. When the executioners chose to butcher our kin, they should have known this day would come!"

His words detonated like a bomb in the room. Shock and dread swept through every person present.

That vote had not been unanimous. Some had opposed the order to exterminate the mutants—but they were few.

Over 70% had agreed to the plan. Of those, nearly half were in this very room—more than twenty of them.

These were the top power players across every major department in the country. The core of the nation's governance.

If Alex killed all of them, it would be a catastrophic blow. The country would spiral into chaos.

A complete breakdown. Civil collapse. "All-out anarchy" wouldn't even begin to describe it.

"Son, I admit the decision back then may have been misguided," a senior official from National Security said in a pleading tone. "We've heard you loud and clear. I'll report this to the President and the Senate."

"Please, before things pass the point of no return—stop. Don't let this go any further. You'll regret it."

Alex sneered. "What a joke. The last people in the world I'd ever trust... are people like you."

Without wasting another word, he turned to the White Queen. "Emma, find them all."

Emma nodded and activated her ability, scanning the minds of everyone present.

In a blink, she knew exactly who had supported the slaughter of the mutants.

"Him," she said casually, pointing at a senior official from Homeland Security.

Gulp.

The man's face turned pale as he instinctively swallowed hard.

When Alex's glowing gaze landed on him, his heart lurched violently, nearly bursting from his chest.

"Wait—"

Zzzap!

Two searing beams of heat vision blasted from Alex's eyes, cutting the man down before he could finish.

Thud!

The official collapsed lifelessly, off to reunite with his dear Secretary.

"Him."

Zzzap!

"Him."

Zzzap!

"Him!"

Zzzap!

One after another, the titans of government fell. The scent of blood filled the room—thick, choking, metallic.

Panic gripped the survivors. They trembled uncontrollably, drenched in cold sweat.

Gone was their usual air of power and prestige. Now, they huddled like livestock in a slaughterhouse, forced to watch their colleagues get butchered before their eyes.

And they knew—they were next.

That crushing dread, watching Death approach step by step, was enough to unravel even the strongest mind.

Even those who had opposed the vote—or hadn't been present at the meeting—broke down.

To them, Alex wasn't a mutant anymore. He was Death incarnate, risen from hell to claim their lives.

"Him!"

Zzzap!

"Stop! That's enough!"

One of the officials finally cracked, his voice breaking as he begged, "Please, no more! Just stop! We can fix this—whatever you want, I'll make it happen! I swear to God, just… please, no more killing!"

Whoosh!

Before he even finished speaking, Alex had moved—instantly appearing in front of the man, eyes cold and merciless.

"Don't interrupt me while I'm working."

Smack!

A slap sent the man flying.

"Emma. Continue."

Alex shook his hand nonchalantly, as if brushing off dust. As if taking lives meant nothing to him.

"You maniac!"

The Director of the Bureau of Investigation stepped forward, his eyes resolute. "Go ahead, kill me! I don't regret my decision. If I could do it again, I'd still choose the same path. Freaks like you don't deserve to live in this world!"

"Oh? Finally, someone with a spine."

Alex gave him a mocking glance, voice indifferent.

"You should be grateful I'm not into torture."

Zzzap!

The director's head burst open.

Thud!

His headless body crumpled to the ground.

"Emma. Continue."

"Him."

Zzzap!

"Him."

Zzzap!

One after another, Alex reaped lives with relentless precision, each blast of heat vision adding another corpse to the growing pile.

Blood pooled across the floor. The smell of death was overwhelming, nauseating.

The surviving officials curled up like frightened animals, stripped of all dignity, shivering in terror.

All their authority, their prestige, their illusions of control—gone.

Alex had shattered them.

"Him."

Zzzap!

"Well, that was the last one."

With Emma's final declaration, the searing glow faded from Alex's eyes.

The massacre ended.

Those who remained felt as if they'd just crawled back from the edge of hell.

Every single one of them was utterly drained.
