I exited the building. My gaze then landed on a transmuted statue 20 meters away. It held a cigar in its hand and had grey hair, its appearance akin to that of an old man.
I realized it was Lord Glück, the feudal lord of Weise, whom Macht had served. But later, Macht had transmuted him along with the entire city.
I stared at it for some time before continuing to move through the now-transmuted city. My footsteps echoed through the place.
After ten minutes of walking, I reached the town square. Many transmuted bodies hung there, the remains of adventurers who had intruded into the golden land. Macht had brutally killed them and hanged them as a warning.
It was a gruesome and horrendous sight. My past self would have vomited, but now I was indifferent to it all, as if wearing an invisible cloak of calm.
Then, Macht's memories began surging through my mind. My head started bursting with pain, and I leaned down. After some time, the pain subsided.
"Ah," I muttered, "I thought my head was going to explode." Then I breathed a sigh.
Some time passed, and I decided to get adjusted to my new body. Afterward, I stretched a bit.
I even tried to untransmute a nearby rock.
I closed my eyes and began visualizing turning the rock back to normal. In this world, magic is all about visualization; you can't use magic without it. I was able to visualize returning it to normal, and it worked – the rock was now untransmuted. A sense of pride washed over me.
Then, I decided to try untransmuting a human statue. I looked around and spotted one nearby, then I approached it.
After that,I started visualizing returning it to normal, I closed my eyes to make it easier to visualise. But I was unable to untransmute it
Then I remembered that in this world, demons are monsters, who can never visualize turning a human back to normal. And since magic is all about visualization, I could not visualize doing it.
I shook my head indignantly, "damm it"
