As I waited for Marcel's arrival, my mind was a jumble of emotions, consumed by the mess I had gotten myself into. The accusations, the drama, and the feeling of being trapped in a web of misunderstandings had taken a toll on me. I felt like I was losing control, like my life was spiralling out of control.
Meanwhile, Marcel was busy planning a surprise visit with my roommate, who had been sworn to secrecy.
Feeling restless and bored, I decided to pay a visit to Kelvin, our mutual friend from secondary school. Kelvin, a tall and handsome guy who lived in the same town as me, had become a close friend to both Marcel and I over the years. Our friendship was built on laughter, shared memories, and a deep understanding of each other's quirks. Or so I thought.
Unbeknownst to me, Kelvin had developed feelings for me during our casual meetups. He had always admired my sparkling smile and infectious laughter, and he had mustered the courage to compliment me on several occasions (I'm just a girl who loves attention. So, I enjoyed him complimenting me. I meannnnnn, won't you either? 😅). I had taken his words as friendly gestures, never realizing the depth of his emotions.
As I visited Kelvin, he saw his chance. We sat in his living room, chatting and laughing, and Kelvin's desire got the better of him. He leaned in, his eyes locked onto mine, and pressed his lips against mine. I was caught off guard, and my initial shock quickly turned to anger. I pushed Kelvin away, my eyes blazing with fury.
"What are you doing, Kelvin?" I demanded, my voice low and menacing.
Kelvin looked taken aback, realizing he had misread the situation entirely.
"I-I thought you felt the same way," he stammered, trying to apologize.
But I was already storming out of his house, my heart racing with anger and confusion. I couldn't believe Kelvin would betray our friendship like that.
Days later, Kelvin tried to reach out to me to apologize for his actions. But I wouldn't forgive him easily. I felt betrayed and hurt, and I didn't know if I could ever look at Kelvin the same way again. Meanwhile, Weston's accusations continued to hurt me, and it made me withdraw from our relationship. Feeling like Weston didn't trust me, I began to question whether I was truly loved and valued in the relationship.
My friendship with Nadia also became strained. Nadia had believed Joe's lies, and I felt like she should have known better. Although Nadia later sent a text, apologizing for her actions, the damage had already been done.
When Marcel arrived, with my roommate's help, they had planned a huge surprise get-together. I was so happy and excited because it was the first time anyone had done something so thoughtful for me like that in a while. I found solace in Marcel's company, and we spent time together, creating new memories and rekindling our connection. Marcel was charming and attentive, making me feel like I was the only person in the world.
But as the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the room, I knew I couldn't stay hidden away forever. I had to face the music. I had to confront Weston and Nadia about the accusations sooner or later.
As we strolled through the town, hand in hand, Marcel decided that we should pay a surprise visit to Kelvin. But I brushed it off immediately, still uncomfortable about the kiss.
"I don't know, Marcel," I said, my voice hesitant. "I'm not sure I'm ready to face Kelvin yet." I muttered under my breath.
Marcel's curiosity was piqued. He knew Kelvin had always been a bit of a ladies' man, but he had never thought he would betray my trust. So, he pressed me to open up about what was bothering me.
"What's going on, Alora?" Marcel asked, his voice gentle but concerned. "You seem distant, and Kelvin's acting weird too when I mentioned you to him. What's happening?"
I hesitated, unsure how to share my feelings. Marcel's words were laced with sweetness and concern, making my heart flutter. I knew I could trust him, but the wounds were still fresh, and everything could go south, considering that Kelvin and Marcel were like two peas in a pod.
As Marcel waited for my response, the air was filled with anticipation. Would I open up about Kelvin and Weston? Or would the secrets remain hidden, leaving Marcel with doubts? The tension between us was palpable, and Marcel could sense that something was off. He pulled me closer, his arms wrapping around my waist.
"You can trust me, Alora," he whispered, his breath tickling my ear. "I'll always be here for you."
My heart skipped a beat as I looked up at Marcel. I just knew I could trust him, but could I really open up about my feelings? The uncertainty hung in the air, leaving Marcel wondering what secrets Alora was hiding.
