Akira leaned against a reinforced gate as guards whispered nearby.
> "Why's the Captain here?" "He's meeting her?" "They say she took out an entire Kaiju wave with no weapon—just her fists."
The cell opened.
Inside, a girl sat cross-legged, surrounded by broken restraints and singed walls.
Her hair was wild and star-black, with faint violet streaks—like nebula smoke. Her left eye glowed gold, the other was scarred and blind.
She glanced at Akira.
> "So. You're the regression freak they're all scared of."
> "And you're the feral monster they can't control."
She smirked.
> "They call me Reika Nozomi. Former class-A cadet. Power type: Stellar Berserker. I destroy Kaiju with raw force. I destroy rules for fun."
Akira tossed her a uniform.
> "Join the Nova Fangs."
She blinked.
> "That's it? No threats? No moral speeches?"
> "Nope. Just one rule: you break ranks, I break your legs."
She stood. The air rumbled around her.
> "Hah! I like you."
The cell doors exploded open as she walked out, flexing.
> "Tell your Vice-Captain I want sparring rights weekly."
> "She'll like that. You punch. She slices."

Yuki watched Reika slam a boulder-sized training bot into the ground.
> "You're insane."
> "You're tiny."
> "I'll cut you."
> "Try me, blade pixie."
Akira watched them from afar, smiling.
