Auntie's words were just an excuse, like she was trying to justify everything Uncle did.
But no matter what they said, Rachel didn't react. It was like she didn't even hear them.
She just kept staring blankly at her grandmother lying there on the hospital bed.
The only thing she cared about in the entire world was her grandma.
All of a sudden, her grandma's lips started to move slightly, like she was trying to say something even though she was still unconscious.
Rachel leaned in closer, trying to hear.
Then her body froze.
Her grandma… she was whispering the names of her uncles and aunt.
Without saying a word, Rachel slowly straightened up and walked out of the room.
Auntie and Second Aunt followed her out into the hallway, still trying to get her to drop the charges.
Rachel looked at them, expression cold.
"Why should I drop the charges? You never treated me like family, so why should I treat you like family?"
