Chapter 139 - Chapter 139: Deadlock

When Tsunade and Kawaki returned with the Konoha Ninjas, Sakumo and Dai had already returned to the camp for rest and recuperation.

The injured ninjas were all gathered together. Tsunade was kept busy as soon as she got back.

It's no exaggeration to say that she's the busiest one after every battle.

The two young ones followed Tsunade around, helping out. Kawaki also summoned Katsuyu Sage to do his part.

Late at night, Tsunade dragged her tired body back to her room.

This was more tiring than fighting ōnoki.

Saving lives was a delicate job that consumed too much of her energy.

Tsunade walked to the bed with a tired look on her face and lay down, having no desire to communicate with Kawaki.

"Maybe I can give you a massage?"

Kawaki sat down beside the bed, his eyes full of concern.

A proper massage, not the kind in the hot spring pool.

He swore!!

Tsunade opened her eyes warily. What a jerk!

She was so exhausted, and he still had such thoughts.

Then she gave him a fierce look that made Kawaki feel extremely embarrassed.

"I really didn't mean that."

Kawaki felt that his image had gone astray. He wondered if he could still save it.

He was truly sincere.

"Hehe~"

Tsunade rolled her eyes, showing complete distrust.

"What on earth are you thinking..."

Kawaki didn't waste any more words. He directly turned Tsunade over.

A faint glow of Chakra flickered on his hands as he pressed them on her back.

He didn't know any advanced Medical NinjutsuMedical Ninjutsu, but he could still use Chakra to stimulate the acupuncture points.

Tsunade originally intended to teach this pig's trotter a lesson.

Suddenly, feeling the pleasant sensation on her back, she let out a coquettish moan and closed her eyes.

It seemed that she had really wronged him. But so what?

"Lord Tsunade, is the pressure okay?"

Seeing Tsunade closing her eyes comfortably, Kawaki grinned and asked slyly.

"Are you not eating?!"

Tsunade parted her soft lips, and her words were as cold as ice.

"What?"

Kawaki then increased the pressure. Unexpectedly, Tsunade seemed to like it.

"How about this?"

"Um~"

Tsunade let out a faint nasal sound like a mosquito.

"Go to sleep peacefully."

Kawaki maintained the pressure and continued the massage. Soon, he heard Tsunade's steady breathing.

Apparently, she had fallen asleep.

Kawaki stopped and covered Tsunade with the quilt before quietly leaving the room.

"Creak."

The sound of the door closing echoed. A beautiful smile curved Tsunade's lips.

After going out, Kawaki wasn't sleepy yet, so he went to Sakumo's room.

Whether his big bro was asleep or not was none of his concern.

As soon as he entered, he found Dai there, chatting with Sakumo!

"Why do you have time to come here?"

Sakumo was a bit surprised to see Kawaki. Shouldn't his little brother be with Tsunade?

"Kawaki-kun."

Dai greeted Kawaki.

"Why can't I have time?"

"What kind of thing to say. Are you still my big bro?"

Kawaki swaggered over and sat down cross - legged, nodding to Dai.

"This Big bro is not worth having, anyway."

Sakumo poured a cup of tea for Kawaki and kept teasing him.

Having such an unlucky younger brother, it doesn't really matter whether I keep him around or not.

"You're breaking my heart with those words. After all, blood is thicker than water..."

"Stop it. Don't say any more. I'm sick of hearing that."

Sakumo reached out his hand to interrupt Kawaki's speech. He was really fed up with his nonsense.

"Haha."

Dai couldn't help laughing as he watched the two brothers having fun.

He was thinking about having another son for himself so that Gai would have a younger brother. Now that the family was better off, they could afford to raise another child.

"How did you feel about the battle with Shukaku today?"

Kawaki took a sip of tea and started talking about serious business.

"My attack power is still a bit lacking."

Sakumo admitted his weakness openly. As a young man, he still had plenty of room for improvement.

At least he could still open three more gates of the [Eight Gates], and then he wouldn't be helpless against Shukaku anymore.

"After all, Shukaku was in its complete form."

Dai had fought with Han. Even when he opened the [Seven Gates], he only managed to end up in a draw with the half-tailed-beast-transformed Han.

He had some say in the strength of a complete-form Tailed Beast.

"Didn't you try to attack its weak point?"

Kawaki remembered that Tsunade had personally told Sakumo about Shukaku's weak point.

"Of course I did. Shukaku was on high alert."

Just thinking about it made Sakumo seethe with anger. He never saw Shukaku lift its tail.

"Well, it seems Shukaku has learned its lesson."

After all, Tailed Beasts had intelligence. Kawaki could understand Shukaku's behavior.

Anyway, that weak point didn't matter to him. He could still overpower Shukaku without targeting it.

"We've won both battles in Konoha, but the casualties are really a headache."

Dai was involved in counting the battle losses today, and the number shocked him.

If it weren't for Tsunade, the number would have been even higher.

Even though the Konoha Ninjas were equipped with Tsunade's Poison, the numerical gap couldn't be completely made up.

After two major battles, the numerical disadvantage had become even more obvious.

"There's nothing we can do. After all, we're facing two ninja villages."

Kawaki sighed. If it weren't for the large number of high-level ninjas in Konoha, the losses would have been much greater when facing two ninja villages.

"None of the family leaders looked happy today."

Sakumo observed carefully. All the families in Konoha had suffered heavy losses.

Clan members were even closer than comrades-in-arms. How could they be happy?

"Let's see what to do next tomorrow."

Kawaki shook his head. He didn't have a clear plan for the next situation yet.

He hoped to hear some constructive suggestions at the meeting tomorrow.

...

Time passed quickly. The next day, Tsunade got up feeling refreshed.

After having breakfast with Kawaki and the others, she went to check on the injured.

Then she gathered everyone for a combat meeting.

The Meeting Hall specially built by Sakumo finally came into use.

Soon, everyone had arrived. Tsunade briefly summarized the recent battle situation.

"Now Iwagakure has been defeated, and Sunagakure has retreated to the Land of Wind."

"So, what should we do next?"

After saying that, she threw the question to the people present at the meeting.

Kawaki showed no intention of speaking. He looked at Nara Shouta, hoping he had some good ideas.

"Can we concentrate our firepower and take the Land of Wind first?"

This was a member of the Inuzuka clan, and his words were a bit impulsive because his beloved dog had sacrificed in the war.

"It's not easy to operate."

"Iwagakure is in the north and the Sand ninja are in the west."

"If we head west, Iwagakure will surely seize the opportunity to invade our Land of Fire."

Hearing this, Nara Shouta shook his head. He knew the status of dogs in the Inuzuka clan.

But obviously, his suggestion was completely unfeasible.

"Then what do you suggest?"

The Inuzuka clan member got a bit impatient. He pointed his finger and raised his voice sharply.

Everyone could understand that he was eager for revenge, but his attitude was a bit rude.

"Shouting won't solve the problem. Let's have a good talk."

Kawaki said this out of respect for his sister - in - law. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been so lenient.

That guy immediately fell silent after hearing Kawaki's words.
