Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Immortal Katsuyu

Tsunade stormed out of the small casino with a scowl on her face. By then, the sky had already grown dark.

"Damn it! Lady Luck just isn't on my side today," she grumbled.

She only lost a few million yen in the half - day. It's just a piece of cake.

Tsunade patted her rumbling stomach and realized she hadn't eaten dinner yet.

Thank goodness she'd only brought a few million yen. Otherwise, she'd have had to skip dinner, too.

She reeked of tobacco and sweat. Knowing how much her grandma hated gambling, she'd surely get an earful if she went home. So, she decided to head over to the Hatake residence instead.

As she walked, she kept replaying those fateful moments in her mind. Why did she have to hesitate? She could've won big if she'd just gone all - in!

Lost in thought, she didn't even notice she'd arrived at the Hatake mansion until the sound of dice rolling in her head was interrupted by the appearance of the ever - observant butler.

"Lady Tsunade, the second young master is having dinner. Allow me to show you the way," the butler said respectfully.

"Thank you," Tsunade replied politely, her thoughts finally snapping back to the present.

She followed the butler to the dining room.

"Second young master, Lady Tsunade has arrived," the butler announced before Tsunade even stepped through the door.

Kawaki was having a drinking session of soy - sauce flavored baijiu with Sakumo, trying to cheer up Aniki, who was still depressed about not mastering the Flying Raijin all day. He downed his drink and stood up immediately.

He straightened the cushion next to him just as Tsunade came into view.

"Come and sit here, Tsunade," he said, his movements as gentlemanly as ever, a sign that the drinking session hadn't gone on for too long.

"Sure," Tsunade replied, brushing past the butler and taking her seat.

Just then, a new set of tableware was placed in front of her.

"Has Nawaki gone home?" Tsunade asked, noticing the absence of her younger brother.

"He left before dinner," Kawaki replied.

"Where have you been?" he asked, detecting a faint odor of tobacco on Tsunade.

"I gambled a little," Tsunade said, pouring herself a glass of wine as she spoke.

Kawaki didn't even need to look at her face to know how it went. When has a big spender ever won?

Not wanting to bring up a sore subject, Kawaki picked up some vegetables for Tsunade. Drinking on an empty stomach was bad for the stomach.

Sakumo raised his glass to Tsunade without saying a word. It seemed they'd developed a bit of a tacit understanding during their previous drinking session.

Tsunade ate some vegetables, then raised her glass and clinked it with Sakumo's from afar before downing it in one gulp.

Kawaki was left stunned. What was that all about?

"Eat some food first. Don't rush," he said, piling a large helping of soy - braised beef onto Tsunade's plate. It was obvious she hadn't eaten dinner.

"I lost three million yen, ah!" Tsunade exclaimed.

"When will Lady Luck finally smile upon me?" she continued, pouring herself another full glass and downing it.

Sakumo's eye twitched. Even though the Hatake family was wealthy, no one could afford to lose money like that.

"Hey, it's just a bit of pocket change. Think of it as entertainment," Kawaki said, trying to console her.

"Besides, once the hospital is up and running, you won't have to worry about money."

"Right, the hospital!" Tsunade exclaimed, as if she'd just found a new goal. "I'm going to find a construction team tomorrow. I'm going to find the best one." Only by increasing her income could she fund her gambling addiction.

Kawaki scratched the back of his head, seeing right through her. He just hoped this spendthrift wouldn't end up losing the hospital in a bet.

"Don't rush. The hospital construction won't be so simple."

"Humph~"

"Whoever dares to obstruct us, I'll kill them one by one, or two by two if they come in pairs."

Tsunade's eyes burst with an astonishingly fierce light. Those who block my financial path shall die.

"Well said! Who dares to bully the Hatake clan?"

"Tsunade, let's have a drink together."

These words excited Sakumo. This is how his sister - in - law should be.

He didn't know that their trains of thought were completely different.

Only Natsuki and Kawaki, who understood the situation well, exchanged a glance and took a sip of their drinks helplessly.

"When do you plan to start the construction?"

Kawaki asked after Tsunade swallowed the beef.

Sakumo also cast a look over.

"Tomorrow."

Tsunade couldn't wait any longer.

"Then we need to make some plans too."

Kawaki said seriously. Then he noticed three pairs of eyes fixed on him.

Who could understand the troubles of being the smart one in the group?

"If I'm not mistaken, once the construction starts, there will definitely be obstacles."

"First, arrange a small construction team. Don't start on a large scale."

"Keep calm and handle things as they come. We'll deal with any problems as they arise."

After Kawaki finished speaking, he drank a glass of wine on his own. He enjoyed the feeling of being in the spotlight.

"Is that it?"

Sakumo was the first to speak and almost said, "Is that all?"

Tsunade also thought Kawaki had some excellent strategies.

After listening for a long time, she didn't catch any key points. Suspicion flashed across her face when she sized up Kawaki.

Could the children of such a guy be too stupid?

Natsuki couldn't stand watching the two confused people any longer.

"Now the enemy is in the dark and we're in the open. Using a small construction team can change the situation between the enemy and us."

"With your three abilities, do you need a lot of fancy strategies?"

"As expected, you're smart, sis."

Kawaki and Natsuki exchanged another smile and drank the wine they had just poured.

There are still smart people in the Hatake family.

"Cough, what I mean is that's great."

Sakumo didn't want to admit that he wasn't smart enough and tried to save face, but Kawaki and Natsuki didn't even look at him.

"I meant the same thing."

Tsunade chimed in. Helplessly, the two drinking buddies emptied their glasses again.

After finishing the business talk, everyone's spirits got high under the influence of alcohol.

Sakumo was the first to act wildly.

"Tsunade, I'm not joking. Your family's Flying Raijin is so damn hard to learn."

"I practiced all day long and couldn't even fly as far as I can piss!"

Natsuki couldn't bear to look. Sakumo once said Tsunade had poor drinking etiquette. Well, it's like the pot calling the kettle black.

"Tell me about it. Do you think I haven't tried?"

"Even with my Grandma's help, I couldn't do it."

"So I just gave up."

Kawaki was originally wondering why Tsunade couldn't use Tobirama's jutsu. It turned out her aptitude didn't match.

Under the influence of alcohol, he also started asking some questions that he couldn't find answers to in the original plot in his previous life.

"Where did your grandfather learn his Immortal Jutsu?"

"Shikkotsu Forest."

Tsunade replied calmly. Where else could it be?

"Then why don't you learn it?"

Maybe she was really drunk. Tsunade bit her finger and slapped it on the table.

"Summoning Jutsu."

After a puff of smoke, a Katsuyu the size of a wine jar appeared on the table.

"Katsuyu Sage, could you please tell him why I don't practice Immortal Jutsu?"

Tsunade was still being careful, only summoning a small part of the Katsuyu Sage's body.

Otherwise, given the size of the Hatake family's place, the Katsuyu would probably be too big to fit.

"Sure thing, little Tsunade."

The Katsuyu Sage, with strong environmental adaptability, realized it was just a simple family dinner rather than a battlefield as soon as it appeared.

"Except for Hashirama, no one who has practiced the Sage Art of my Shikkotsu Forest has survived."

"Little Tsunade's sense of natural energy is not strong enough to support her in transforming into immortal Chakra."

The Katsuyu Sage explained in detail that, simply put, Tsunade would die if she forced herself to practice.

"I see. Thank you for your advice, Katsuyu Sage."

Kawaki could only sigh. It seems that the reincarnation of Asura is indeed the favorite in the Naruto world.

Hashirama could master Immortal Jutsu as effortlessly as sipping water, while others would meet a tragic end when attempting it.
