Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: The Breakthrough Point

Hatake family training hall.

Kawaki had been standing still like a tree stump for a long time. Sakumo thought his younger brother was possessed.

He tried to strike up a conversation but got a cold shoulder, so he left feeling awkward.

Nawaki had just finished standing in a horse stance and started practicing swordsmanship.

A gentle breeze blew, causing Kawaki's silver hair to flutter. His face was covered in sweat, and his mental energy was severely depleted.

He felt that his connection with the Flying Thunder God Technique was getting deeper, but he just couldn't take the final step.

That indescribable feeling was like there was only a pane of window paper between him and success. As long as he broke through it, he could achieve spatial movement.

The power of space, Kawaki thought to himself. Mito Uzumaki's Sealing Technique had opened a window for him, but he still had to push it open himself.

After a long time of searching without finding the key point, Kawaki felt that the problem still lay in his perception of the power of space.

So he left his original position, wiped the sweat off his forehead, and teleported to the big tree to pull out the eight - sided Han sword.

In an instant, the eight - sided Han sword disappeared.

Kawaki closed his eyes and felt the faint power of space.

Tearing and shifting.

It was so strange. He had never felt such a violent and mysterious power before.

Next, the eight - sided Han sword repeatedly appeared and disappeared in his hand.

Kawaki devoted all his spirit to that moment of appearance and disappearance, trying to capture the existence of the power of space.

Suddenly, a flash of inspiration came to him. He wrapped the eight - sided Han sword with Chakra and touched it.

The power of space, he understood.

He opened his eyes, and a terrifying glint flashed. Kawaki threw the eight - sided Han sword at Nawaki.

Nawaki, who was practicing swordsmanship, was greatly startled. It was already strange to see his Aniki standing still with his eyes closed under the tree, and now he opened his eyes and suddenly attacked him.

Cold sweat broke out on his body.

"Aniki, I'm your future brother - in - law!"

Nawaki held his wooden sword in front of him, buried his head behind his arms, and closed his eyes.

His loud cry of "Aniki" caught the attention of Sakumo and Natsuki.

Did the younger brother already have a future brother - in - law?

Kawaki didn't care about this. With a smile on his face, the eight - sided Han sword stopped the moment it reached Nawaki.

Kawaki was firmly holding the hilt of the sword. The Flying Thunder God Technique was a success.

"Aniki, you weren't trying to kill me?"

Nawaki didn't feel the expected pain for a long time. When he opened his eyes and saw Kawaki holding the sword, he finally spoke with a lingering fear and patted his chest.

He didn't want to experience that feeling of facing death ever again. In his eyes, Kawaki's strength had reached a new level.

I'm afraid even Orochimaru - sensei is no better.

"You're my dearest future brother - in - law. How could I bear to kill you?"

"I just wanted to test the Flying Thunder God Technique since I've just mastered it."

Kawaki put away his sword and affectionately patted Nawaki on the shoulder.

Damn it! Using me to test your Ninjutsu. You're really something, future brother - in - law!

Nawaki didn't dare to complain. He could only force a smile. He was hurting inside, but he had no one to pour his heart out to.

"Aniki is truly a genius. You mastered the Flying Thunder God Technique in just one morning."

"Oh, come on. I should thank your Grandma."

Kawaki couldn't hide his pride. His expression gave it away. But he was telling the truth. Without Mito's [Spatial Seal], he didn't know how long it would take him to learn the Flying Thunder God Technique.

"You practice for a while longer. I'll call you for lunch."

"I'll go and study it some more."

After saying that, Kawaki left Nawaki standing there as if punishing him. Nawaki was still in a daze. How could he have the energy to keep practicing sword - fighting?

While dawdling, Nawaki watched Kawaki shuttle back and forth between the big tree and the stone table. Only when getting closer and looking carefully could one find that the Flying Thunder God Technique had also been set under the stone table.

The clan emblem of the Senju clan on it was clearly visible.

When lunchtime came, Nawaki was already itching to go. When the butler appeared, he came to Kawaki's side.

Kawaki had just put away his sword. Now, as long as he practiced a little every day to get familiar with it, he could apply the Flying Thunder God Technique in actual combat.

He still needed to go to the weapon workshop this afternoon to forge some special Senbon. He felt that Senbon were more concealed than Kunai.

Just as he was about to take Nawaki to have lunch, Tsunade also came over.

"Hey, Tsunade - chan, you came just in time. Have a drink with us?"

Kawaki was over the moon now that he had mastered a new Flying Thunder God Technique, but Tsunade was full of anger.

"No, thanks."

Tsunade said, giving Kawaki a disdainful look. "Are you still trying to take advantage of me? It's a bit rude to keep doing this, isn't it?"

"I went to see the teacher. He..."

"Let's talk while eating. Let's go."

Kawaki interrupted Tsunade in time. If they talked about it here, would they still have time to eat?

"Okay, then I won't stand on ceremony."

Tsunade was just being polite. After saying that, she put her arm around Nawaki's neck and followed behind Kawaki.

Poor Nawaki had just been frightened. Now he had to bear his sister's anger.

Poor Nawaki was the perfect target for his sister's anger, with no way to voice his grievances.

Staggering along, he was almost dragged by his Onee-san to the [Hatake family]'s dining room.

Only when she saw Sakumo and Natsuki did Tsunade let go of Nawaki and greeted them.

After everyone was seated, Sakumo wasted no time and picked up his chopsticks, starting the lunch in earnest.

There were no soy - sauce - flavored dishes for lunch today. With yesterday's incident still fresh in their minds, Sakumo had quietly asked the servants to put away the sake.

"What did the Third Hokage say about the land?"

Kawaki took a bite of tuna sushi and picked up the previous topic.

"The teacher said he'd discuss it with the higher - ups, neither saying yes nor no."

Tsunade couldn't figure out Hiruzen's thoughts and was also uncertain. She took a bite of sashimi, frowned and sighed.

Nawaki was munching away happily, carefree as ever.

Sakumo knew his place and didn't say a word about this money - related matter. He was good at killing people, but doing business was out of the question.

Natsuki also cooperated by just listening. The only voices left on the dining table were Kawaki's and Tsunade's.

"Don't worry. The land should be approved."

"It's just a matter of how much money."

Hearing Kawaki's confident answer, Tsunade was stunned. Do you have an informant around the Hokage?

"Kawaki - kun, why do you say so?"

Looking at Tsunade, who still had a pure side of a girl, Kawaki shook his head. It's really not easy for someone like you to be the Hokage.

"All the Third Hokage considers is whether this matter is beneficial to Konoha and whether it poses a threat to him.

"Even if the Hatake family runs a hospital and makes money, at most it'll just be a small family with considerable assets."

"And he's the Hokage. No matter what, our Hatake family can't threaten his position."

"The money from selling the land can help him gain more popularity among the villagers."

"So this deal is definitely going to work."

"However..."

Kawaki started to play coy, really whetting everyone's appetite.

Three pairs of eyes stared right at him, giving him the creeps.

He paused for a moment and then continued.

"However, getting the land approved is just the first step. There might still be people who'll cause trouble because of our Hatake family being a potential threat."

"Who?"

Tsunade and Sakumo blurted out sharply at the same time. They gave each other an awkward look and then smiled at each other.

I'm fond of this kind of temper.
