Chapter 18 - Reunion (the End?)

End?

The Dark Tribe's land was no longer hidden or feared.

Where once there was a wall of cursed shadows, now danced clouds of fire, ice, forest, and dark—blended together in harmony. The portal had transformed, welcoming all tribes. For the first time in centuries, Aethelgard was truly united.

They had learned the truth: no one is an abomination. Every power, every difference, was a gift.

And love—love was the greatest gift of all.

Under the Old Tree

A little apart from the others, Eric and Cynthia sat beneath a massive tree, its branches casting dappled light over them.

"Did you know your mum is really beautiful?" Cynthia teased. "And all the secrets and mysteries… wow."

Eric chuckled. "Yeah. And to think, when we were in Tryzo, I always felt different. Like I didn't belong. I never guessed the quiet nature girl beside me had such a giant role to play."

"And did you see your sister?" Cynthia added. "The girl could snap your neck with a smile."

"Enough of the praise, Princess," came Clare's voice as she stepped from behind the tree, arms crossed, smirking.

Eric raised an eyebrow. "You're the last person I expected here—or wanted here. Need I remind you, I came here to be alone with someone."

"Oh? Then allow me to remind you," Clare said, mock-serious, "you, Crown Princess Cynthia, used my power without permission. That's royal-level insult."

"I understand my offense, Your Majesty," Cynthia said, playing along. "How may I make it right?"

Clare grinned. "Somebody needs a kiss from their master to settle the score."

"Princess Cynthia," Eric interrupted, turning to her, "do you owe me anything?"

She smiled, tilting her head. "My prince… do you love me?"

"Yes," Eric answered without hesitation.

"Then yes, Prince Eric—you're mine. Are you not?"

"I am," he whispered, pulling her into his arms.

He kissed her gently on the cheek, but Cynthia grabbed his collar and pulled him into a deeper kiss—playful and passionate, their laughter mingling.

From a distance, Clare called out, "He's okay! Daddy!"

The Royal Circle

King Azuu approached with a raised eyebrow. "So, young man, where do you belong? Our princess here has made it very clear you belong to her. So, are you going with her… or coming back with us?"

Old Esther chuckled. "They didn't even court properly like your father and I. Young love is too fast these days."

Then her voice softened. She stepped forward, turning to the sky.

"It's time," she said quietly. "Time to return to him."

A cloud formed around her, glowing gently. Everyone grew still as she looked back one last time—eyes lingering on her grandchildren.

Then, with grace and finality, she vanished into light.

Tears filled their eyes.

Especially the children's.

"Where did she go?" Cynthia whispered.

Her home now let's return home princess "king green replied

Fairy kingdom, fairy most hideous but lovely and kind," King AZuuu whispered

"Is this… the end?" Clare asked.

Eric took a deep breath, looking around at his family, his kingdom, his love.

"No," he said with a smile. "Not the end."

"This is just the beginning."
