Chapter 1 - Prologue

It didn't know what it was, or how it became.

No name, No origin, Not even a purpose.

But like any other animal it moved on its instinct, it began to move, its gooey alien-like body, its malformed limbs began moving

It had now finally learned to move, to walk, to even run.

The creature couldn't yet breathe, but the more it stayed in the atmosphere the more it adapted, and then there came a nose.

A nose it could breathe with, it was the first time it had felt air, or in a way tasted it, it was an odd sensation.

But the creature couldn't hear or see, it could only feel. The creature instinctively felt that there was something missing, something it needed.

So it grew eyes, and for the first time it could see. It was an odd feeling to the creature, it couldn't see color but it could see shapes and objects, and for the first time it could see its environment.

A peaceful environment, the ecosystem around it seemed… peaceful, with animals at each corner, but there was this odd feeling in the creatures abdomen.

It didn't know what this feeling was, it was a feeling of emptiness in its stomach, like something was missing, it wanted its stomach to be filled.

For the first time in the creature's life it felt a sense of emptiness, and the longer it felt this sense of emptiness it realized that it was…

HUNGER

And the creature wasn't fond of this feeling, it wanted this feeling gone, the longer it felt its stomach have this empty feeling the more it wanted to get rid of it.

Desperately the creature grabbed onto a squirrel but it couldn't eat, it couldn't feed, so then it grew a mouth, and began feeding on the squirrel

The squirrel squeaked and cried, but it soon became silent, the creature tasting flesh for the first time was thrilled. It was happy, that empty feeling was now gone.

But then suddenly the creature grew a tail, it hadn't known why. The creature was curious about this mouth it grew, it knew it was a way to get rid of that empty feeling.

The creature heard some buzzing around its ear, and it grabbed onto a fly, and ate it. The creature suddenly grew wings.

It began to feel more curious about what it was, and why it changed with each thought, each movement, each feeling… and even when it fed.

The emptiness in the creatures abdomen came back, the creature was familiar on how to deal with that feeling.

It began feeding and feeding, and the more it fed the more unique it became.

Gaining the attributes and traits of what it killed, the creature ate more and more bugs and insects, with each bite it gained their unique attributes.

But there was always this insatiable hunger that the monster couldn't fill, it wanted more and more, it couldn't seem to understand why.

Only eating made it feel alive, and it liked the feeling that it was living, just like any other creature.

Similar to its will to survive, it ate to keep itself up and running, but soon that was no longer an excuse.

It ate because it was fun, it ate because it loved the flesh of other creatures flowing down its mouth and the sweet taste of blood and meat.

It loved taking and taking, it wanted to become a superior life form that couldn't be bound by anything and eat however much it decided.

But the longer the creature was alive the more it wondered, is there a reason it exists?

How did it get here?

And what was its purpose for being here?

These questions gnawed at the creatures mind, even if the creature couldn't think properly it still instinctively felt that it was questioning its own existence.

And the emptiness only grew, it became more and more impatient, and more rampant, the creature needed more, something bigger, something that could get rid of this emptiness.

It will eat and eat, nothing will stop it.

Because the creature understood one thing.

IT WAS HERE TO DEVOUR
