Chapter 3 - This Insult Must Stop!

As Noah Morgan heads to the hotel, he feels relieved after deciding to seek revenge on Julia Hart, the woman who mocked him at the high school reunion.

Noah summoned his system once more.

He needs to understand how his wealth management system functions.

The system comes into his line of sight. He immediately checks the 'Asset Menu.' What he sees there shocks him. It is the list of assets that his new father left for him.

He realized he had complete authority over all his father's possessions, which included properties, businesses, and valuable items.

Noah was impressed because he could also track the asset's growth through the wealth management system and sell it if he chose to.

A mere glance at his father's wealth left him feeling overwhelmed. He was filthy rich!

He quickly closed the "Asset Menu" and turned his attention to the "Revenge Ledger."

This was something that triggered him moments ago after he received a text from that bitch, Julia!

He didn't know how the system took its revenge on Julia.

Now, he was curious!

'Did the system's success cause Julia's social standing to collapse?'

Hurriedly, Noah checked the "Revenge Ledger" menu. He spotted only one task that appeared there.

[Revenge Ledger Updated.]

[Target: Julia Hart]

[Status: Active - Running 50%]

[Would you like to cancel your revenge? Y/N]

Noah was surprised to discover an option to cancel there. Moreover, the status showed it was already running at fifty percent. He wanted to check the internet, but the taxi driver's voice distracted him.

"Sir, we have arrived!"

The driver's voice snapped Noah back to reality. He turned to look at the driver; then he could glance outside. He observed that the car had stopped at the main entrance.

After paying the fare, he hurriedly stepped out to grab his suitcase.

Just before he entered the lobby, his eyes were fixed on the Phoenix logo—the same as the one on the envelope he accepted last night—under the hotel name.

He was surprised to discover that this hotel was one of his father's properties: The Royal Phoenix Hotel.

When the taxi driver asked him earlier, he merely chose this hotel because it is the best in the city. He wanted to enjoy his current wealth by staying here for one night before looking for an apartment in the area.

'What a coincidence, Noah!' he muttered inwardly while continuing to walk.

The doorman greeted him but made no effort to help with his suitcase. He shrugged it off and proceeded into the luxurious lobby, heading straight to the front desk.

Noah walked through the lobby toward the reception desk; he sensed multiple pairs of eyes on him.

He was used to such glances, especially after arriving at the Royal Phoenix, a five-star hotel, in an utterly inappropriate outfit. He wore a shabby hoodie, torn jeans, and his only pair of sneakers, which had once been white but were now dull brown from dirt.

...

Standing before a young female staff member at the front desk, he smiled politely. Still, he only received the same cold expression he had gotten from the doorman earlier.

"Sir, may I help you?" she asked absentmindedly of Noah before checking her computer screen. It was clear she wasn't interested in serving him.

"Yes, I would like to book a night in your presidential suite..." Noah said smoothly as he glanced at Diana Kurt's name tag.

Diana was surprised to hear that. She turned her attention back to Noah but regained her composure moments later.

"Have you made a reservation before? Could I see your ID, sir?"

"Not yet!" He didn't have time for that, as he had never dreamed of staying in a luxury hotel like this.

He only chose to stay in the luxury hotel because Grandma Martha recently kicked him out of his apartment.

"I apologize, but in our Hotel, you must book in advance before registering for check-in, sir." Diana's subtle smile was enough to make Noah realize that something was wrong.

'No way! Did she really think I couldn't afford to stay here? Did she seem condescending because of my outfit?' Noah was rendered speechless. He can't let this humiliation continue! He must stop the insult.

He suppressed his anger and asked, "Are you saying I can't check in because your hotel is full? Or do you reject me because of something else?"

Noah noticed Diana's surprise at his words.

He sighed deeply and continued, "You know what this something else is? Because I think I know. I think, just maybe, you're refusing me because you believe I can't afford to stay here!!"

"Well, Diana... you are wrong. Terribly wrong! Now, Diana, let me ask you again as nicely as possible. I'm asking you to please process my registration to stay for one night in your presidential suite tonight!"

"Sir… I, uhm, I apologize, but…" Diana's voice trailed off as Noah raised his hand, gesturing for her to stop speaking.

"Just fucking process my registration while I ask you nicely! Please!" he said nicely but with an apparent cold, angry tone, pushing his ID card to her.

This foolish receptionist challenged him, making it difficult for him to suppress his anger.

He checked if this hotel was one of his father's companies to distract himself from his fury.

'System!'

After a glance, the system comes into his line of sight.

'Could you please provide the current status of the Royal Phoenix Hotel in Opal City?'

The result appears instantly.

Noah was stunned by the detailed information from his system about the company, especially since his name was listed as the owner. The system could also inform him about the loyalty of the staff.

He laughed inwardly upon seeing the company's net income.

No wonder this hotel consistently reports a negative income; its service is terrible, and the CEO lacks loyalty to the company.

Noah immediately dismissed his system.

However, he was at a loss for words when he saw Diana not even taking his ID card; she was standing there playing with her cell phone.

'What the fuck! This woman was asking me to fire her!' He can't contain his anger any longer.

He doesn't care if this woman looks pretty and sexy; he must teach her a lesson about kindness.

Just as he wanted to say something, the system's sounds rang in his ears.

'The revenge ledger appears again?' Noah was shocked to see that the person on the list was Diana Kurt, the receptionist.

[Revenge Ledger Updated.]

[Target: Diana Kurt]

[Status: Active]

[Suggested Option: Fired | Transferred to another division]

[Bonus: $1,000 | Personnel +1]

[Would you like to start your revenge? Y/N]

Slowly, Noah understands that the system will activate his revenge ledger if he is intensely angry at someone, allowing him to seek revenge.

If he sought revenge, the target would receive their punishment, and he would gain the benefits through a bonus.

'What a genius system!! This is so freaking cool!'

Even though Noah feels the need to avoid using this revenge ledger too often, he can't let this arrogant receptionist represent his business. He needs to teach her!

Noah said while pushing his ID toward her, "I gave you one last chance, Ms. Kurt. I ordered you to process my registration now, or you will regret it!"
