The sun rose steadily shining warm on the earth, creating the awareness of a new day.
Since the incident none of them slept till that morning, weirdly they did not look tired or sleep deprive, they looked even more energized than ever, ready to face the day
One call to the office, Richard ordered his men to bring in the files regarding Lucy's case and things found on crime scene that could help with the investigation
Victory eyes shine with great interest as she looked at the files and big white board with lot of written notes, pictures and pin on it "let me help!!" She offered
"NO!" Richard immediately rejected
"You should rest too" Thaddeus added
"You too are over reacting, it's just one slash see I'm alright!" She said wiggling her arm
"Suit yourself " Thaddeus said expressionlessly not casting her a glance
Victory felt speechless, how could she have forgotten, if it is not a particular person he is a ice glacier
"Tch!!" She scoffed and shot him a mean glance before taking her seat far from him
Victor who just arrived looked at his boss "are they dating?" He said
"No, it's just that girls are very hard too please and you will know the one he likes when she comes!" Richard said "don't mind him victory you can rest for a while before joining us" he said facing Victory
"I don't want to!"
"You brought it all?" Thaddeus asked facing Victor
Victory "....." at least if you won't pretend to be nice , apologize !!
Victor was confused, these files were confidential and shouldn't be seen by anyone, he looked at his boss waiting for an order
"Don't worry they are more helpful than any of those files" Richard said, it would be useless asking him when he can assist
"Who was the other person?" Thaddeus asked after scanning a few document
Victor and Richard who were intensely discussing something looked at him confused
"Who?" Victor asked
"In her grandmother lay case, there were three finger prints found, the last one is still unknown!" Thaddeus listed
Richard let out a stressed out sigh, running his hand on his head he asked " our investigation were not successful from the start because there were lot of holes and unsolvable question we had to code the case and focus mainly on Lucy"
"Mr Agbebi?" Victory words cause them to look at her "I mean, when he came yesterday the words he said we kinda suspicious as if he knew what was really going on"
"That doesn't still prove he was there on the crime scene, on that particular day " Victor said
"We've seen him segueing with Lucy about something but Lucy's doesn't remember that day and also I was very sure I stabbed her in the arm but there's no scar there" Victory said
"If we were to believe his words then something really is possessing Lucy's body and he knows who this spirit is" Thaddeus said
"And it's goal…..to kill Lucy"
"But why won't he do anything?" Victory asked
"It may be because he does not want to get involved or being involved will obstruct something beneficial for him" Richard said, with these two on the team, things are going in a more understandable way
"But who exactly is this spirit?"
"My sister!" A weak voice replied Victory ragging everyone's attention to the source
Dressed in a comfy, blue knee length dress with beautiful floral design, Lucy smiled slightly at them making her way towards them
Looking at the new comer, Victor couldn't help but shake his head, he really could not understand why his boss was using kids even to the point of believing them
"Lucy!" Victory called "how are you felling?"
Victor eyes widen in shock, he had heard of the name but did not know how she look like, he had to look at her agin studying her temperament he just couldn't understand how someone like her could kill, if she really is what people see
"You should not be moving around like this?" Thaddeus complain, his tone rather gentle than harsh
Victor looked at the boy again, gosh how could his tone just change like flipping a book page, they all seem quite close!
"I woke up and hour ago, I felt a little bored" she said with a smile
" does it still hurt?" Thaddeus asked looking at her arms wrapped with bandage up to her elbow
"Not as much as earlier" Lucy replied
"Are we being ignored?" Victor asked
"Don't worry you'll get used to it " Victory and Richard said in a sync sipping their hot tea that had already being prepared by Clara
"Ohh my baby awake " Clara said dumping her shopping bags on her husband whose arm were still hanging in air waiting for her hug
"How are you feeling?" She asked checking her temperature
"Much better!" Lucy said
"Good good, I branched my work place and grabbed a few drug and instrument don't worry with my nourishing food you will feel better soon" she said showing her what she brought.
Lucy smiled and thanked her
"Ohh Victory you should also get some!"
"Oh please just continue to ignore me" Victory said depressingly sipping her tea. The atmosphere was warm and lively filled with laughter and smell of delicious foods
With strict supervision from Clara and Thaddeus Lucy are the most on the table
Victor turned to victory and asked "I understand she's the colour of his blood but what's with his mother?"
Victory raised her hands up in air, she had no explanation .
