Kung Pao hideout
Waking up slowly, Yamcha looked around in a daze. Seeing the familiar ceiling, he wondered if everything he saw before was a dream.
"Ah, Yamcha-sama! You're awake!"
Before he could make sense of the situation, a furry creature rushed to his arms.
"Hey, Puar, it's okay, I'm fine."
"Thank god! I thought you had a concussion!"
Puar replied worriedly.
"Oooh! Yamcha is awake? You sure know how to sleep! Even made me carry you all the way here." A childish voice sounded. The complaint reached Yamcha's ear and he turned around only to find Goku staring at him while munching on a braised wolf tigh.
"You... You're that kid from earlier, eh, Karu? Kakarot? Carrot? Ah, no, no, it's Goku!"
Somewhere in another space time, a certain person wearing green tighs sneezed and became yellowish green in a fit of legendary super anger.
"That's right! I'm Son Goku!" Goku nodded with a smile.
"But then, if you're here does that mean...?"
"That's right, Charcoal, we are staying here tonight!" An angry piglet voice sounded from another room.
Oolong walked in fuming with anger, his eyes on Puar.
"What are you looking at, bully! You gave the capsule, so it's mine now." Puar raised the capsule above him with a proud look on his feline face.
"Hmph! Hmph! Who needs one Hoi-poi capsules anyway! Just wait, when I become rich one day, I will have hundreds of them."
Holding his head, black lines appeared on Yamcha's face, tonight is destined to induce a headache on him.
Speaking of which, wasn't there a girl with em'?
"Yahooo! Do you miss me, handsome?"
Speaking of the devil!
Before he could react a pair of slender and warm arms hugged him from the back, feeling two sizeable balls pressing against him, his whole body became limp and he lost all his strength.
'Ahoo! This, could it be? The legendary trait used by women to dominate the male populace? My martial arts heart! How can you be so fickle!'
Bulma, still wearing her desert warrior outfit hugged Yamcha without any consideration for the Hyena King's feelings and predicament.
Soon the group sat down on the dinner table and started talk. Yamcha, being served food personally cooked by Bulma, felt like his soul was on the ninth heaven, and his mind had turned on the auto mode, just faintly responding to the external stimuli.
While Bulma pestered him, hugging his arm and fed him, the others ignored them.
"Why are you here anyway?" Puar asked in confusion. "There's nothing in the desert, just lots of sand and stone."
Oolong shook his head helplessly. "I was kidnapped by this monkey kid and that girl! I, lord Oolong just wanted a pretty wife! Why do I have to go on a boring quest? By the way, Goku, you didn't tell me yet, what is the quest? Why do you want to go to that... Brrrrr!" Oolong shivered in fear. "... That fry pan mountain."
"For this!" Goku took out a smooth round stone from his clothes and showed them. "This is the dragon ball! Bulma said that if you get all seven, you can make any wish!"
"Huh? Make any wish? How is that possible?"
"I don't know, but that's what she said." Goku replied honestly with a smile. "But isn't it fun? We're almost there, it's only missing two balls now!"
"But how do you know that ball is on mountain fry pan?"
Hearing Yamcha's voice, they turned and saw him walking over with a sigh of relief. He finally managed to free himself from that terrible girl.
"Is it that radar you guys keep looking at?" Oolong followed up after remembering something.
"I guess so." Goku replied, not really knowing.
Hearing this, the dinner table became awfully quiet for a moment.
Regardless of what may have been on everyone's head, on Yamcha's he couldn't stop thinking of some possibilities...
Being able to grant any wish... Could there really be no limits? Then... Wouldn't something like immortality, becoming a God or getting super powers be possible?
Just thinking of what he could do with the Dragon Balls, Yamcha felt a deep feeling of yearning in his chest.
In his previous life, because of his average talent, he never managed to shine anywhere. Wheter on school or work, he was just another one in the crowd.
And he didn't feel like studying to get better, because seeing how colleagues and classmates could spend 1/10th of the time he spent studying and still learn more than him severely impacted all his motivation.
He doesn't consider himself to be someone extremely ambitious, but deep down, he knew that what he always wanted, was to achieve something. Do something that everyone else felt was impossible and still succeed. Not because he had something to prove to them, he just wanted to prove to himself that he's no worse than anyone...
'I've decided!' Yamcha stared at the trio talking from the corner of his eyes and left without being noticed.
'I will follow them, and get the dragon balls! Although I don't know what to wish yet, I will definitely achieve that goal with them!'
His heart raced as the thought crossed his mind.
"I, Yamcha, will not be mediocre my whole life!"
Standing outside the hideout, Yamcha looked at starry sky in a daze and started training to cool down his head.
Unconsciously, he began practicing the technique the voice said that he had learned.
The Rock, Paper and Scissors fist.
At first, he was a little clumsy, changing stances mid movement wasn't very intuitive, especially for him who was more used to his claw technique.
From time to time, he would hear a quiet voice reminding him on his ear.
[Ding! You practiced the Rock, Paper and Scissors fist. Your talent is low, and only got the guaranteed reward. Progress+ 1%]
This one came the most, but something, when he had a burst of inspiration, the prompt would change slightly.
[Ding! You practiced the Rock, Paper and Scissors fist. Your technique is correct and achieved enlightenment. Progress +5%]
Don't just look at the simplicity of this technique.
Although it were only 3 moves, the punching had to be fast, extremely fast, so we could achieve a defense piercing effect.
The scissors move used two fingers, without proper use of strength, and trained fingers, there was a risk of breaking them when attacking, harming the opponent by 80%, and harming yourself by a 100%. Even after mastering the use of force, you still needed to train every finger so they would be rock hard, and able to withstand impact better.
Finally, the palm strike was very profound, when Goku attacked, it felt like he had been hit by a much larger palm, which caused him to get sent flying in just one move.
This was probably the legendary Ki that martial arts master, even he, who had been practicing martial arts for a long time has trouble using this power.
Even more so, once he started practicing the palm strike, his progress plummeted and he stopped getting enlightenments, and had to rely on the guaranteed rewards that appeared from time to time without any pattern.
Just when he was about to stop his training and go to sleep, he heard that mechanical voice again.
[Ding! You mastered the Rock, Paper and Scissors fist! Permanent training effect multiplier has been increased from 1x -> 2x! Please continue learning new techniques to become stronger!]
"What!?"
