Silas wipes his forehead from cleaning the dust off the table. He felt tired from cleaning every drawer, and he looked around the room with a smile. "Finally. Everything looks clean."
He said with a bright joy, and he threw the broom back into the closet he found about half an hour ago, and he grabbed the full trash can outside and threw it into the garbage can. He grabbed his phone and saw no message from his girlfriend.
Mia.
They have been off for a while, but he believes they can overcome it. Two weeks ago, Silas asked her to get married, but Mia was acting a little strange, saying she's not ready. Heck, she hasn't slept with him, not even once. They are only holding hands and kissing on the lips.
Nothing more than that.
She claimed to be old-fashioned, not the type to sleep with anyone after knowing them for three years. She doesn't want just a declaration of love from him; he needs to prove to her that he's a reliable man, like buying food for her, taking her to the movies, or taking her to the doctors.
He sighed and texted her.
[Hey. I'm coming. I'm going to buy some McDonald's for you. Do you still want the five meal specials?]
He frowned when he received no message from her. She must be really sick if she didn't look at her phone. He put up his phone, climbed into his car, and pulled up to the McDonald's place.
After ordering some of the food, it was plain fries, a hamburger, and a slushy. Her favorite parts. He drove across the road, past his best friend's house, and stopped before her house.
He climbed out of the car, climbed up the stairs, and knocked on the door. He banged one more time when he hadn't gotten any answers.
He furrowed his brow and started to get worried, and he heard a faint sound beyond the door. He couldn't tell what it was, but it sounded like faint moans.
Is she hurt?
He tried to open the door, but the door was locked, and he cursed under his breath, and he used his legs to kick the door down. Stepping past the door line, he heard a couple of shrieks, and a bad feeling flushed through him.
Something deep in his gut tells him to leave, but he doesn't listen.
He walked to the familiar house he had walked down the hall many times before and stopped before Mia's bedroom, and he slammed the door open with his foot.
"What the fuck?"
A deep man's voice yelled out with rage, and Silas looked at an average-looking stranger he had never seen before. The man was naked, but his pants were unzipped, meaning he was pulling on his pants.
Silas felt his heart racing in dread, and he turned to stare at the woman who betrayed him in the worst way. His heart was ripped in half, and he watched his girlfriend, Mia, panicking at the sight of him.
She struggled pulling on her shorts, where white spots of cum could be seen on her white legs. Silas felt a deep rage in his chest, and he clenched his jaw.
"Baby, it's not what you think."
Silas sneered at her. You still want to deny it?
Silas no longer felt angry. He just felt a deep disappointment. All of this effort for nothing. He threw the bag he brought with him on the bed. He said with a bitter smile, "This is the last time I'm bringing you food, and hopefully we'll never meet again."
He turned around, despite his chest beating slowly. He walked out of the house, but his wrist was grabbed, and he pulled his hand away from his cheating scumbag girl.
No, she isn't his girlfriend anymore.
He turned to look at Mia, who looked distraught, her blond hair messy from the sex session and her face smeared with make-up, and she cried out, "Please don't leave. I can explain."
Silas didn't want to listen anymore. Is she a fool? How can anyone move on from that? Once you betray someone, there's nothing you can do about it.
Silas smiled coldly at her. "Are you done?"
Before Mia could say something, the guy she was having sex with came out of the room, and he had the decency to look angry. He said with curiosity, "Is that your boyfriend you were telling me about? Wow, his cheeks really look awful."
Silas narrowed his eyes at the man, and he asked, "Who are you?"
The man smirked at him, and he leaned against the wall, his pose casual and lazy. He said in a low, raspy voice, "You can call me Ricky."
Mia turned to look at him with a fierce glare, and she said, "Get out!"
The man, Ricky, smirked at her, ignoring her demands, and he cocked his head in contemplation, and he said with a cruel grin, "No. After all, I might as well take my money back since you didn't let me finish."
Silas asked in confusion, although understanding dawns on him. He was completely stunned, and he turned to Mia with shock on his face. "You're a prostitute?"
Mia turned extremely horrified, and her face turned bright red like a tomato, and her hair turned messier with her moving head. She keeps shaking her head back and forth, crazily saying no over and over.
"NO. NO. NO. Y-You misunderstand me..."
Silas was completely heartbroken by her actions. He felt extremely embarrassed and dirty, worse than a dog. He had treated her with sincerity, but what did she do with it?
Threw it to the dogs.
He walked outside the house, down the steps, never intending to come back. No way in hell. He stomped all the way to the street. His mind in disarray, and his heart heavier and empty.
He doesn't know how long he walked, his feet starting to ache and his eyes more tired than usual. He found himself in an empty alley. Dark and lonely.
Except he hears a weird heart sound. More like someone's struggling.
