Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Arriving in Kuoh Town

The flight from Italy to Japan took nearly twelve hours.

This travel method was chosen deliberately, instead of teleporting via the Underworld, out of consideration for Asia's feelings.

After all, she was originally a saintess of the Church. Arriving directly in the Underworld as a human would probably scare her into passing out.

That said, Asia seemed to really enjoy this method of travel.

Even after over twelve hours in the air — which would normally leave a regular human dozing off — Asia, flying for the first time in her life, remained incredibly excited the whole time.

"Vitan-san, is this Kuoh Town?"

Asia curiously looked around her surroundings, as the architecture here was completely different from the Italian style she was used to.

After getting off the plane, Vitan and Asia had taken nearly another two-hour drive to reach Kuoh Town.

After all, Kuoh Town was just a small place—it was impossible for it to have an airport.

"Yes, we'll be living here for a while from now on."

"Looking forward to life here?"

Vitan said this as he gently patted Asia on the head with one hand.

For some reason, ever since he met Asia, he had developed the habit of patting her head.

Was it simply because her height made it convenient?

He hadn't quite figured out the reason yet.

In any case, it just felt very natural to him now.

"Yes!"

It was clear that Asia had already gotten used to Vitan's occasional head pats. Her expression remained calm, unlike before when she would get flustered and embarrassed easily.

As they exited the high-speed rail station's waiting hall, a luxurious high-end car was already waiting for them.

As the head of House Asmodeus, even though Vitan hadn't brought his team of maids this time, all of his living and travel arrangements had already been taken care of.

Although Kuoh Town was under the influence of the Gremory family, House Asmodeus still had human-world businesses present here.

This luxury car had been transferred from another location by House Asmodeus.

"Vitan, Vitan! Mr. Vitan?"

Asia's constant calling snapped Vitan out of his wandering thoughts.

"What is it, Asia?"

He stood up and casually popped a cherry into his mouth from the table, smiling as he looked at the girl's innocent face.

She gently shook her head.

"It's nothing really. I just saw you zoning out just now and wanted to ask if something was wrong. Ah... If it's something you can't talk about, it's okay—you don't have to tell me."

Realizing she might have said something inappropriate, Asia flusteredly waved her hands and buried her face in her chest like an ostrich.

"Ah, it's not something I can't say."

Vitan smiled gently, then softly pulled apart Asia's hands that were covering her face and brought the cherry to her lips.

"I was just thinking... Since tomorrow is the first day of school, I'm considering going to see a friend to arrange your enrollment."

It was early autumn, just a week after Rias and the others had started school.

And today was Sunday, with Monday being the perfect day for a new student to join.

"I really appreciate your effort. Even though you must be tired, you're still running around just for me."

Asia immediately felt embarrassed.

Although she thought Vitan must already be exhausted, this was something about her going to school, something she now looked forward to greatly.

So, she couldn't bring herself to say something like "don't worry about it."

"It's fine. Actually, it's not just about you—I need to meet my friend to sort out my own position as a teacher as well."

"Eh? Mr. Vitan, you're going to be a teacher too?"

Asia looked at Vitan with surprise, though the expression on her face seemed to be one of reassurance.

Seeing that look of relief on her face, Vitan's lips curled into a slight smile.

"Yeah. Didn't I say I came to the human world for a vacation? Trying out a job unique to the human world could be considered part of a worthwhile vacation experience."

The car sped along quickly. Even though they had just left the station, it was already turning onto a mountain road.

As the name implies, a mountain road was naturally built winding around the mountains. And atop those mountains were villas built specifically for Kuoh Town's wealthy class.

"But hey! Rather than worrying about whether I'll be teaching, you should focus on working hard in school."

As if she'd been caught red-handed, Asia awkwardly swallowed the fruit she was chewing and looked away, not daring to meet Vitan's eyes.

"You're a transfer student and you've never gone to school before—you have no academic foundation. Your studies will be quite challenging."

Asia looked like she was about to cry.

She wasn't afraid of being scolded—she just feared that her performance wouldn't live up to expectations, and that she'd disappoint Vitan, who had helped her so much and was about to become her teacher.

"Don't worry! I'll assign you a very patient teacher. Of course, Asia, you have to work hard yourself too."

As they got out of the car, Vitan looked at the European-style building before them with a nonchalant expression.

After all, this was just a small town. It was impossible for its buildings to elicit any real reaction from him.

But Asia was visibly impressed. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at what she saw as a grand mansion.

"This… this is where I'm going to live from now on?"

"That's right. It might be a little tiring, but you'll be responsible for cleaning and keeping this villa tidy. In a few days, I'll have a few maids transferred here to help."

Once again rubbing the small head that felt very comfortable to him, Vitan said this.

"I understand, leave it to me!" Asia replied energetically.

Although she didn't have much confidence in doing other things, she was quite confident when it came to housework.

After all, it was something she had done since she was little, and she also had a lot of confidence in her cooking.

"Okay then, I'll head out and take care of some things!"
