The Editor
Location: The Core Memory — Heart of the Rewrite
The door closed behind them with a soundless finality. Superman and Sentry stood in a chamber that defied logic—a sphere with no floor, no ceiling, and no walls. It pulsed with forgotten creation, every vibration a scream of a universe that once almost was.
Then they saw it.
The Editor.
It wasn't a being. It was a presence, a shifting mass of symbols, algorithms, and intentions. A flowing construct of divine code, wrapped in the shape of a quill floating above a boundless book.
It didn't speak in words.
It wrote.
And every letter it inscribed instantly changed something across the Multiverse.
Superman felt it first.
His memories shifted.
His father… Jor-El… was now a tyrant. Then a hero. Then erased.
He stepped back, holding his head. "What is this…?"
Sentry stood firm, eyes locked on the quill. "This is where we're all written. And rewritten. Even the Laws."
Lines of code hovered between them and the Editor.
> "Kryptonian—calibrated for hope."
"Reynolds—calibrated for imbalance."
"VOID = Backdoor to Rewrite."
Superman's eyes widened. "You were meant to break it."
Sentry didn't blink. "No… I was allowed to."
Then, for the first time, the Editor paused. The quill hung midair. The book closed halfway.
A new line wrote itself—without any source.
> "THE FINAL ONE AWAKENS."
Suddenly, the Editor froze.
The presence flickered. Chaos erupted.
A scar tore open the Core Memory.
And from it emerged something that made even Sentry step back:
A figure cloaked in pure contradiction. Skin of white fire, eyes of empty recursion.
The Final One.
> "Kal-El. Robert Reynolds. You've come far. But this is no longer a story you control."

Meanwhile – Justice League Satellite
Batman gasped awake in the Watchtower infirmary.
He had collapsed scanning the anomalies—his mind temporarily broken by something that had no right to exist.
Wonder Woman stood at his side.
He grabbed her wrist. "Diana… something's rewriting me."
A mirror across the room shimmered. Batman's reflection smiled with teeth.
