Chapter 13 - The Death of Arrogance

Grimore attacked Allen with the help of Merie's buff.

Allen didn't move, didn't resist — in fact, he even mocked Grimore by sheathing his sword.

"Why is this guy just standing there doing nothing? Is he some kind of masochist?" Grimore muttered.

He summoned several spikes to stab Allen and bombarded him with a rain of fire.

Still, Allen remained motionless, completely unfazed.

Grimore grew more irritated. Allen's indifference made him feel like a weakling.

Meanwhile, Merie turned her face away, unable to bear watching Allen being tortured.

Grimore glanced at her.

"Give me a mana recovery."

Merie hesitated but eventually gave him a limited mana boost.

Grimore laughed wickedly.

"You said you're immortal, right? Well, this attack will be the end of you."

He placed both hands on his chest and slowly spread them apart.

"Getsu no Goiken," he declared.

Allen stared at him silently, not budging an inch.

Grimore unleashed his deadly attack — one capable of killing even immortal beings.

System: Evolution complete. You are now on a level far beyond Grimore.

Allen unsheathed his sword and effortlessly slashed through the attack.

Both Merie and Grimore were stunned by how easily he destroyed it.

"That's your ultimate move? Pathetic," Allen mocked.

"You bastard!" Grimore shouted, launching his fire magic.

Surprisingly, Allen also unleashed his own fire skill.

Their flames collided, but Allen's fire was far stronger, completely devouring Grimore's.

Grimore reflexively used water magic to shield himself.

The clash of fire and water created intense steam, obscuring their vision.

Suddenly, the water Grimore used began to ripple.

"What the...?" Before he could react, Allen redirected the water and used it to strike Merie.

The impact disrupted her buff on Grimore.

In that moment of vulnerability, Allen slashed Grimore with his sword — erasing his existence entirely.

"Maybe I went a little overboard," Allen whispered, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath.

"Kin."

A technique Allen used to implant false memories and erase Grimore from the world's recognition.

Feeling overwhelmed, Allen chose to take a different approach.

He infused his sword with energy and wrote a story where Grimore died of a heart attack.

Afterward, Allen approached the frightened Merie.

She tried to move away but was too drained of mana.

Allen extended his hand.

"Are you okay?"

"What just happened...?"

Allen smiled.

"Let's end this tournament."

He offered his hand again.

"Are you alright?"

Merie ran away without saying a word.

"Typical woman," Allen muttered.

A massive monitor appeared above, declaring Allen the winner.

Elsewhere, Kargagan, who was struggling against Fujimiya, sighed in relief.

"Finally, I don't have to go all out against this monster," he said.

"I didn't even use 100% of my power," Fujimiya replied mockingly before vanishing.

"Sorry, but I'd rather not fight a guy with powers like yours. Unlike Grimore, I know when to accept defeat."

As Kargagan finished speaking, Fujimiya had already disappeared.

Stella saw the announcement of Allen's victory.

"Thank goodness you won," she said, leaving the arena.

Behind her, Makina lay unconscious, glaring at Stella's back with burning hatred before fainting.

Meanwhile, Kuroichi stood, badly wounded, watching Lina locked in a fierce battle with Danjo.

"There's no hope left," Danjo muttered.

Just as he prepared to finish the fight, he saw the monitor announce Allen's victory.

"Cih," Danjo scoffed and walked away.

---

Two months later.

Since Allen's victory, the student body no longer looked down on him.

Once seen as an NPC, he had become someone deeply respected.

"You're popular now, huh?" Rika said, watching the admiring students.

Allen laughed and glanced at her.

"Yeah, I'm pretty awesome, huh?"

He looked at Rika with a smug expression.

"Gross."

Allen pinched her cheek.

"Stop doing that!"

Allen suddenly stopped walking.

"Why did you stop?"

He looked at Rika, then down at the ground.

He took a deep breath.

"Rika... will you... go out with me?"

Hearing this, Rika's face turned red. She didn't say a word and quickly walked away.

Allen chuckled softly.

"Well, I am just an NPC. Let's try someone else."

After school, Allen approached Stella.

"Stella, can you come with me for a bit?"

Stella looked confused.

"Sure."

Allen brought her to a quiet place.

"So, what do you need from me, Allen?"

Allen bowed slightly.

"Will you go out with me?"

"Pfft."

"Huh?"

"Seriously, Allen, you're so random. I know you won the tournament, but still, you're just an NPC."

"Eh?"

"Besides, we share a room, so I know how you are. And one more thing — don't get all cocky just because you're famous now."

Stella walked off.

Allen stood there, stunned.

"Damn, she really thought I was confessing... I just wanted to invite her to eat."

Merie, who had been watching from behind a tree, stepped out.

"I'd like to go eat with you," she said.

Allen turned around.

"Really?"
