Chapter 3 - trash become legendary

Every morning without fail, Mo Yan dragged himself to the riverside like a man possessed—or cursed, depending on who you asked. The activation of the **Fishing System** in this once-ordinary river had changed his daily routine entirely. Forget regular fishing; this was a divine lottery of absurdity. Instead of carp and catfish, Mo Yan was reeling in *instant noodles, crumpled tissues,* and once, an ancient-looking spoon with mysterious symbols that turned out to spell "Made in China."

Not that he was complaining. Well, maybe just a little. The Fishing System was stingy, but every now and then, it surprised him. On the fifth day, he got a ** fifth rank Recovery Pill**, which healed a paper cut instantly and then gave him diarrhea because he have no cultivation to resist it's medicinal effects On the seventh day, he pulled out a **seventh rank Breakthrough Pill** and almost choked on it after reading the label: *For cultivation below Saint level Breakthrough Only.* The system truly had a sense of humor.

I have no cultivation how could I use them .

Still, Mo Yan came back. He had hope—or perhaps a gambling addiction. And on the tenth day, his loyalty finally paid off.

> *Ding! Congratulations, Host, you have obtained: Rare Bait ×1.*

Mo Yan's eyes lit up. "Finally! It's not tissues!"

With reverence, he held the Rare Bait as if it were a national treasure. It glowed faintly, and it smelled like hope... and maybe soy sauce. He cast it into the river, his mind racing. Rare Baits were special. Usually, it took about an hour to catch something with Common Bait. But Rare Bait? That could take hours depending on what level of item you were about to hook.

Still, Mo Yan wasn't getting his hopes up. His life had been a series of disappointments ever since he accidentally activated the Fishing System by tripping into the river while holding a fishing rod and half a cup of instant noodles.

One hour passed. Nothing.

Two hours. He dozed off.

Three hours. His legs were numb. The sun had shifted. He considered going home.

But then, at the four-hour mark, the surface of the river shimmered. Something was coming.

He shot up. His heart pounded as the water rippled unnaturally. Then—an object slowly floated up from the depths. Not bobbing. Not drifting. **Floating mid-air** like it was being held by an invisible hand.

It was a card.

Just... a card.

Mo Yan blinked. The card hovered above the water, surrounded by a golden aura, and shimmered with yellow stripes. In the center was a drawing of a **blue cat**, standing upright and looking both bored and mildly concerned.

"Wait a minute," Mo Yan muttered. "Is that... Doraemon?"

He squinted. "No, wait. Doraemon's rounder. And this one looks stressed out. I've seen this cat before... but where?"

The longer he stared, the more familiar it seemed. Then it hit him like a frying pan to the face.

"Oggy? From *Oggy and the Cockroaches*?! What the hell is this?"

He felt personally insulted. "I waited four hours for *this*? A cartoon cat card? This is supposed to be a **Rare Bait reward**! Is this a prank? Is Ashton Kutcher behind this?!"

Just as he was about to throw the card into the river, the system's cheerful voice rang out like it was hosting a game show:

> *Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have obtained the LEGENDARY TEMPLATE: Oggy from *Oggy and the Cockroaches!*

> As this is your first Legendary Template, you are awarded the following bonuses:

> 🐟 5 Rare Bait

> 🔥 3 Epic Bait

> 🌌 2 Mythic Bait

> 🌟 Advancement for Legendary Catching

Mo Yan's mouth opened. Then closed. Then opened again. He made a noise that sounded like a dying blender.

"Legendary... Oggy?"

He stared at the card again. Suddenly, it didn't look so ridiculous. The yellow stripes looked regal. The blue fur, noble. The slack-jawed expression? Heroic. He quickly grabbed the card, holding it to his chest like a sacred artifact.

Then came the light.

A blinding golden glow enveloped him. His limbs stretched. His nose twitched. His pupils widened unnaturally. A strange craving for cheese and irrational rage toward cockroaches filled his soul.

"No... no way... am I **turning into Oggy?!**"

System reminded . No , host it did not change your body , just some changes from the soul only small changes .

> \*Ding! Legendary Template Activated. Host now possesses the following passive abilities:

> * Indestructible Cartoon Physique with infinite ressuractions and immortal body .

> * Slapstick Luck (Rank: Mythic)

System change some stats for host according to him because it was host first template .

For other templates there is nothing.

Mo yan avoide those remarks and said after seeing the stats .

"WHAT THE HELL ARE THESE STATS?!"

Mo Yan tried to scream, but instead, he let out a comical "WAAAAAAH!" as he tripped over a rock and spun in mid-air, only to land unharmed... inside a trash can.

Which exploded. With glitter.

He crawled out, completely unscathed.

He sat on the ground with large smile in his face and said loudly

"...This system is cursed."

Somewhere in the trees, a cockroach peeked out. Its eyes glowed red.

And thus, Mo Yan's legendary misadventure began.
