While there were many spells that would enhance one's physical aspects. Among the light spells there were four main spell that one should look out for, works in different ways but the end results are almost the same.
One of them is a simple Enhancement spell. It's not a spell that is limited to light magic, but works very well, increasing one's physical ability in exchange for mana. A plain and simple magic with a plain and simple application.
The next two are called [Materialisation] and [Harden]. Works the same way for the most part, except Materialisation would materialise an object made of mana over your body while, [Harden] improves the physical aspect of the area where it is applied. Unlike [Enchantment], it is mostly limited to the part where it is used, but on the other hand, it's effects are much more prominent in comparison to that as well.
Finally the one that I was looking out for was [Light Magic: Guidance], one of the higher level magic that increases the user's visual and thinking ability. It's not exactly a physical enhancement, but with the ability to process multiple things at once, allows one to prepare more moves at once as well.
[What we lacked in the previous battle wasn't physical prowess or mana but the ability to react and analyze the situation. If we were faster to react, there was no way that dark mage would have caught us](Elios)
Elios had studied many high level magic before and he sure knew the principle of [Guidance] and it was certainly one of the lower levels of magic in comparison to the ones he knew, but the problem was that it was still a mid-high level magic, hence..
[(Light Magic: Guidance - 1000 Karma)]
[It's going to take all our Karma points for the day. I wanted to at least have a few in case of emergency.](Elios)
It was difficult to make a decision. But in the end, Elios finalised that this spell was more important than the enhancement spell or the others. He can increase Noah's physical aspects by curses, but this was something that he couldn't do without putting a heavy price along with it.
And thus, he spent it all to buy that.
[You have purchased (Guidance) for 1000 Karma!]
[Guidance (E)

[Your Side Job reacts!]
[Faulty Instinct (E)

Mana Cost: 30MP
Cooldown: 30 Seconds!]
[The Light spell should help us avoid critical danger while this…This should be helpful in case of fighting with a single strong opponent](Elios)
"They seem nice."(Noah)
[You like them?](Elios)
"Yup. Pretty practical spells. Though, don't you think there would be problems with the amount of Mana if this keeps going on?"(Noah)
The more the number of spells, the more difficult it is to choose which to use and which to let go. Especially given when the total MP is so low.
[I know, right? I was thinking of getting some MP regeneration spells but we would need a few more Karma for that. Even the least costly is 80 Karma, and we are short by 30.](Elios)
"Let's do this then."(Noah)
[Free Attribute Points: 3 -> 0]
[Intelligence: 10 -> 13]
[Total MP: 100/100 -> 130/130!]
[All right. Better than keeping them like that.](Elios)
While it was obvious, both Elios and Noah failed to notice a simple fact. And that was that their way of thinking was always on the same line. Both of them came from a totally different life, but somehow their own set of rules made them more similar to each other than what they should have been.
Even when Elios thought like a mage, understanding the principles of magic and its strength, he never belittled Noah's physical capabilities. He didn't mind if Noah took the path of a warrior, as long as he gets to try new spells every once in a while.
Similarly Noah was an assassin, well versed in all sort of weapons. But even though he could have honed his skills even more, in something he was a genius, he didn't mind dabbling in magic at all. He even tried to make it a part of his daily life.
Both of them had to figure out what exactly was the situation through which they were going through. Who was responsible for this? What was the purpose for all this? There were many questions that they both had, but rather than being troubled by it, they were both calm and first tried to focus on gaining strength.
It was the most obvious choice given whoever was the one responsible for this was going to be super duper powerful. And the least they could do was to get strong until they find out who it was.
"Let's go. It's almost time."(Noah)
[All right.](Elios)
Noah then walked out of his room before moving towards the first floor, where the prayer room was. His eyes looked at the night area where the guards were yawning before continuing on their duty.
Some of them saw him before ignoring him, while others didn't even bother to check it. Though other than the guards, not a single soul was visible in the temple hallway. For a temple, it was honestly quite spooky to say the least.
Noah kept walking towards the prayer room, until he saw the guardian Lucas standing there waiting for him. And once he saw him, he began walking inside the corner assembly area where the nuns and the elder priest mostly collected after prayer.
Following Lucas, he then entered the same room where Alicia was standing along with another woman. A woman with blonde hair, wearing a black dress, her sapphire like eyes observing Noah from top to bottom.
"Her name is Ameliana. She is also a dark mage that works for the Church. And from today, she will be your mentor."(Alicia)
