Ashii felt suffocated inside her room. There were so many doubts running through her head. She wanted to breathe some fresh air. She went out of the house and stared at the beautiful moon.
This city is dangerous, and most occupants are not human. I don't understand why my father chose this place. But some of my mother's relatives live here.
Ashii suddenly saw a man standing outside the fence.
His blue eyes were sparkling under the moonlight. He was approximately six feet tall with a well-proportioned body.
A face kissed by the angels... Who is he?
In the blink of an eye, the man was gone, but his face was engraved in her mind.
-
Skyler Jing, the second son of the famous Jing family, never thought he would become a stalker one day. There was something about Ashii Perez that attracted his inner beast.
"Master Sky, should we head back?"
"Hmm."
Sky couldn't extract his thoughts from the woman he saw standing on the ground and looking at the moon. Her face was bare, and it was as if he could see the purity in her bones. But it was the look in her eyes when she sensed him around that mesmerized him so much.
She was different from all the girls I've met before.
"Assistant Ki, tell me my schedule for tomorrow."
"Master, you only need to report to school tomorrow. The eldest son is coming home, and his responsibilities in the company will be returned to his hands. You will no longer need to worry about having meetings late at night or attending parties in his stead."
"That's great! What about my third brother, Dylan? Where is he?"
"The third son is on his way abroad. He has a special mission assigned by the Supernatural Council."
"He really became the favorite pet of Aunt Eva."
"You can't say that, Master."
"I need you to keep an eye on their whereabouts. Mother and father would not like to know that they've been away from home, and all their duties temporarily fell on me."
"Yes, Master."
When Sky arrived home, the Jing estate was illuminated with bright lights.
"Something's not right."
"Master, the Don and the Mistress have arrived."
Sky hurried inside the house, only to find his parents sitting in the living room. Their faces were ashen as they talked with the head butler. Sky wanted to avoid confronting his parents when they were in a bad mood, but they had already sensed his breath.
"Mother, Father! Welcome home!"
"It's good that you did not run away with your irresponsible brothers!"
"Come here!"
Sky had no choice but to sit opposite the couple.
"I have bad and good news for you."
"What is it, Mother?"
"The good news is you will have an allowance increase."
"What about the bad news, Mother?"
"Your grandfather has assigned a marriage partner for you, and it is something that neither I nor your father could intervene in."
"A marriage partner? Who?"
"This is her information. Your grandfather even arranged a house for you to live in. Your task is to get along and protect your marriage partner."
Sky did not open the file, but his heart was heavy.
"Father, is there a reason for Grandfather to arrange a marriage for me? Aren't I too young to get married? What about the eldest brother?"
"Your grandfather assigned a marriage to you because he knew you were capable. The zodiacs in your horoscope matched the girl, so he agreed. As for other reasons in this marriage arrangement, I don't know."
Sky smiled bitterly.
His parents told him to get some rest while they wait for his brothers to come home.
Sky was upset. He didn't know what to do for a while. Today, he found out that he was also interested in someone, but the trouble of having a marriage partner made him irritated for no reason.
Sky took a cold shower. When he was done, he changed into a pair of sleeping wear and sat on the bed as he opened the file. He was utterly speechless at what he saw. His eyes couldn't believe that what he was reading was not a hallucination.
The next morning, he was awakened by his assistant, urging him to report to school early. He nodded and ate breakfast in a hurry. He was so confused about why he needed to hurry in the first place.
"Why are you so jumpy?"
"Master, we've been assigned to live separately from the Jing estate."
"What's so good about that?"
"Master, I am rushing to prepare the house. The Duke wants you to live in that house starting today, and there are a lot of things to worry about."
"We will be living in a new place, but it's not far from home. It's also closer to the academy. Why do you worry so much?"
"Master, it's different. Now that you have your own house, everything in it will be managed by you. Haven't you heard the Mistress last night?"
"What about, Mother?"
"The Mistress said you'd have more allowance allocation. The budget is for you to spend on managing your own house and the people employed within, which means complete independence."
"Complete independence..."
Sky pinched the bridge of his nose in distress.
When he reached the school, the first person he saw was Ashii.
She was standing in the corridor, holding her phone. She was taller up close than he thought. She might even pass as someone taller than most girls in the academy.
He wanted to approach her, but seeing the crowd gather around him, he decided against it. He did not want to trouble her.
A woman suddenly appeared to block his way.
"Brother Sky! Good morning. How's your day? You look so good today. Have you eaten?"
Sky did not even know the person, so he tried to bypass her.
But the woman was so thick-skinned that she tried to grab Skyler's hand.
"Brother Sky..."
"Stop calling me that!"
"But, Brother Sky..."
"Shut up! I don't even know you. And stop pestering me, I have a fiancée and she would be upset if she knew another person tried to harass me."
"A fiancée? How could that be..."
