My eyes turned to Ruby walking down the corridor to the bathroom and I could only think of
one thing after that touch that brought me a mixture of nostalgia and strangeness.
"Don't tell me she's..."
No, she's not who I think she is... maybe it's just a delusion in my head that's still a bit stuck
on her past life.
It was better to accept it than to cure it, I didn't want to sink into my thoughts on my first day
back in my new life, so I followed Ruby down the corridor towards the bathroom so I could
get organized.
"Shush Shush Shush..."
I listened to the sound of Ruby's teeth being carefully brushed, and as I did the same as
her... I was creating a strong admiration for my new appearance, I have an attractive but
dark face.
It was quite noticeable that my countenance was cold and vengeful, sharing my soul with
Aqua's only gave me this feeling of ambition and a strong goal to fulfill several main duties,
one of which is to find the murderer who killed my mother.
Well, that is if she is truly deceased in this universe, because nothing prevents a drastic change from having occurred here, and she may have simply disappeared from the world without a trace.
The air in my surroundings, my house in particular, was very peaceful, and in the living
room... Miyako Saitō was always there to manage Strawberry Productions, the former
production company that had its heyday helping with the former success of B-Komachi...
which is now nothing more than ashes in a pot made of marble.
As Ichigo Saitō's wife, she no longer felt the need to be close to him, even after my mother's supposed death or disappearance... She continued on her path while I pursued my goals and Ruby pursued hers.
"Hmm?"
I ended up fixing my eyes quickly on the sinkhole, because I was so surprised by the feeling
that I knew so much, because the price of sharing your soul with someone else's... is
knowing everything they think and know.
"Hmm... what are you looking at Aqua?"
Ruby's sudden voice calls out to me and I watch her eyes, waiting quickly for an answer.
"Nothing, I was analyzing if there was anything dirty in this sink."
Her face suddenly took on a funny expression, her eyes crinkling with confusion, as she
must think I'm being the biggest nutter today... well, she'll never know anything anyway.
As I washed my toothbrush, the whirlpool of water continued to fall over the sinkhole, my
teeth always clean and my hair as tidy as ever... my face was clean and with no dark circles
under my eyes.
When I put my toothbrush into the mirror cabinet, I noticed something strange circling in the
center of the cabinet... the reflection of the mirror made me see a familiar face when I looked
at myself for a while.
Then, within a minute, the flash of my dead face from my old life hit my eyes.
"Huh?!"
I was startled to realize that, as if a figure had haunted me for a millisecond in the daylight,
my body unconsciously retreated until it was near the glass shower stall where we took our
baths.
"Aqua?! What happened?! Why the fright?"
Ruby threw the brush into the sink and approached me to take a closer look, intensely
concerned about my fright at the mirror.
I couldn't think straight, I felt that someone wanted to torment me and I didn't know how to
stop it... without thinking too much, I just hugged Ruby slowly while my hands felt her
smooth, delicate skin.
"It's just a very silly hallucination I had, I don't want to talk about it now, okay? It's over now."
Even though I was only looking at my sister's back, I could feel an aura of absolute surprise
based on her body temperature... she felt a little warm because of the slight anxiety, the
concern she had for me was without pretext.
When I moved my body and arms away from her, her ruby eyes focused only on the
bathroom floor... she couldn't cross her gaze with mine, and in a matter of seconds, she
closed her eyes and raised her body in front of me.
"All right, brother, I'm glad you're at least opening up to me a little... your disappointments
won't be in vain."
Her face showed a slight smile, perhaps because I was opening up my feelings to her more
than usual... and this cheered her up somewhat, however much she wasn't used to it.
"Come on sister, are you ready now?"
"Yes, I'll get ready in my room now!"
With enthusiasm, she runs off to her room and I end up taking a while to get out of that
bathroom.
And for the last time, I look at myself in the mirror and nothing else has happened... I just
see a new person moving on to a new life that she's going to enjoy a lot from now on, even
at the price of having her skull ripped off.
"Haha..."
- VUISH!
"Huh? What's that glow?"
My gaze goes wide as I notice some flakes of light appearing over my vision, and it quickly
forms into a kind of panel, similar to the same panel I used when I was in reincarnation
heaven.
I went to my room and locked the door to take a closer look at the panel that had suddenly
appeared, and I didn't understand how it had developed when I had nothing to execute such
a command.
"That's funny, the panel has a personal touch of my own... it didn't have the gold colors, the
letters were black."
As I began to poke at each part of the panel, it suddenly creates a huge padlock... and a
large legend appeared right in the center, making a huge noise in my head.
