"Jules!" Charlotte screamed at the sudden shattering of the glass.
"Are you alright?!" She grabbed his hand and analysed it and to her relief, there was not a single scratch on it.
"Ha, I'm glad you're not injured" she sighed. "But....how did you..."
"I'm sorry sis, I gotta go!" Jules spoke abruptly before she could finish her sentence. "I'm running late" he added.
"But let me clean this up first" he hurriedly grabbed a broom and quickly cleaned up all the glass fragments in a blink of an eye.
"Oh and also, I think the shower's broken" he hurriedly said and walked out of the kitchen and out the living room in no time.
"Oh alright, get to school safely!" Charlotte yelled whilst still a bit confused.
"I will!" Jules yelled back and walked out the gate. "Phew, that was close" he sighed in relief.
"I hope she forgets all about this later on" he groaned. "I just gotta find a way to control this f*ckin ability!" he groaned even further. 'Maybe the others could help' he thought as he kept walking to school.
Meanwhile.....
"That's strange" Charlotte stared at the empty space where Jules had just walked past in confusion.
"He's acting weird" she muttered.
'How in the world did the glass break in the first place?' She thought long and hard until...
"Ugh...for crying out loud, all this thinking is making me hungry" she groaned tiredly.
"Gotta finish up" She said and went back to cooking.
Giylberd high school...
"Okay, how about this!. The return of the energy king!" Chris said as the trio walked to school.
"Haha, that's stupid" Anne laughed.
"Pfft, you obviously know nothing about literature" Chris rolled his eyes.
"I'm pretty sure that's nothing close to literature. It's bullsh*t" Anne couldn't control her laughter.
"Hmph, Elise is probably gonna get it" Chris looked away irritatedly. "Hey Elise...what do you think of..."
"Leave me alone" Elise said abruptly.
"Tch, I forgot you're a mood killer" Chris scoffed.
Elise looked up at him with a deadly glare. "Want me to kill you instead?" She asked.
"Umm..no..I'll pass" Chris gulped nervously.
Soon, he caught sight of Jules walking alone at a corner.
"Oh, look who it is" He smiled and ran towards him.
"Hey buddy!" He said happily and jumped onto Jules. Jules got caught off guard but held onto Chris's waist and stood back on one leg to prevent them both from falling. Chris felt as light as a paper in his arms.
"Using your super strength pretty well, I see" Chris grinned.
"Hey, don't startle me like that again!" Jules spoke in relief and made them both stand back straight.
"Hehe, I'm sorry. I was just so excited to see my best friend you know" Chris chuckled.
"Ha, I see" Jules said. "Umm...how do I do this...good...morning?" Jules asked struggling with his words.
Chris laughed. "Good morning to you too buddy" he said and wrapped his arms around Jules' shoulder.
"Wow, they're really getting along aren't they?" Anne said to Elise who was casually scrolling through her phone.
"Don't know, don't care" Elise bluntly said.
"Let's go see what's up" Anne paid no attention to Elise and grabbed her arm, leading her towards Jules and Chris.
"Hey, what the hell?!" Elise yelled but Anne simply chuckled.
"Hey Jules!" She smiled at Jules.
"Oh hey..Anne" Jules waved.
"Elise" Anne nudged at Elise to talk to Jules but she simply rolled her eyes and looked away.
'She hates me that much huh?' Jules thought but he couldn't help but steal a few glances at her. She was very beautiful as usual, almost ethereal and it seemed she enjoyed wearing hooded outfits as she had a hoodie on.
"Hehe, typical Elise" Anne snickered.
"So, have you come up with a decision yet?" She turned to Jules this time.
"Um..." Jules stammered.
"Hey, let's give him some more time. He already has a hard time dealing with his new ability" Chris spoke.
Anne paused and nodded after a while. "Hmm, I guess so"
"But think wisely okay?" She smiled.
Jules could tell there was a hidden message behind that smile. He gulped nervously and nodded.
Soon, they began to walk to their classroom as well as the other students.
"Alright class, who can explain technology in this concept?" The teacher asked.
'Calm down Jules, keep your hands on your lap and you'll be just fine' Jules thought inwardly.
"How pathetic" Elise spoke from beside him. He then turned to look at her.
"Huh?" He was a bit surprised.
"You can't even control such a weak ability" she scoffed.
"Weak?" Jules' eyes widened. His ability literally had the word strength in it.
"Yeah" Elise turned to look at him. "You're weak compared to me" she said staring intently at him. Her shining blue eyes piercing into his soul, for a second Jules felt his neck stiffen.
"You're lucky I'm restraining my ability right now" She turned away once again.
Jules stared at her for a moment. 'Restraining, huh?' He thought.
"I'm guessing it has to do with your eyes, they're pretty....abnormal" He said. 'Abnormally beautiful'
"Yeah, you guessed it" Elise turned away, her expression barely changing.
"I'm also guessing you restrain them with those glasses" he added.
"Somehow, yeah" Elise nodded. 'He's kinda smart' she thought.
Jules smiled brightly.
"You know, it's the first time we ever had a decent conversation"
"Yeah and it probably won't happen again" Elise spoke with her usual stoic expression.
"You think so?, cause we're gonna be seeing each other a lot for quite a while" Jules said but Elise simply went back to ignoring him and didn't say another word.
'She's gone back to hating me again' he thought.
Despite her harsh approach, Jules couldn't help but think back at her words.
'She's really that strong?'
'Come to think of it, I have no clue what the abilities of the others are' he thought again.
At that moment, the class came to an end and it was time for P.E.
Jules turned to look at Elise and noticed her rather odd expression, she seemed shocked and not the good kind. She had her phone on her hand and was clutching to it frustratedly.
Elise soon turned to look at the others and stared as if giving a signal. Both Chris and Anne nodded and followed the other students out of the classroom like nothing happened.
'Well, that was weird' Jules thought as he made his way with the other students. He was just about to enter the boys locker room when someone grabbed him into a corner, his hand accidently hitting a vase in the hallway and smashing it into pieces.
"Hey, the vase!" Jules exclaimed.
"What the..." He was cut short as he came face to face with Chris.
"Chris?!" He furrowed his brows.
"The school vase has some metal in it, right?" Chris suddenly asked.
"Uh...um...yeah I think" Jules stammered. 'What's going on?' He wondered.
Chris grabbed a piece of the shattered vase and closed his eyes as if focusing on something. Soon, the other pieces attracted to that one piece on his hand and they came back together, bringing the vase back to normal without a single scratch.
Jules' eyes widened at what he had just witnessed "What?, How did you...."
"No time to chit chat buddy" Chris cut him short.
"How would you like to go on a mission with us?" He asked.
"Ehh?" Jules stared at Chris for a while. 'Am I hearing things?'
"Are you even listening buddy?" Chris shook him on the shoulder. "I said, wanna go on a mission with us?" He spoke impatiently.
"A...a mission?!!" Jules exclaimed.
