Inside one of the hidden caves guarded by the Anbu,
a woman with long red hair down to her waist and blue eyes lay on a bed.
Beside her stood a man with spiky blond hair and blue eyes, his hand resting on a seal on the woman's belly.
"Hang in there, Kushina. It's almost time."
The voice of an elderly woman—responsible for the delivery—spoke. She was assisted by her loyal aide and was none other than the wife of the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi.
"Kushina, stay strong—for our son, for Naruto."
The blond man reassured his wife. He was the Fourth Hokage—Minato Namikaze.
"Naruto, hurry…"
Kushina Uzumaki spoke, groaning in pain.

"He's born! Congratulations, Hokage-sama."
The old woman carried the baby toward his mother, who was still in pain.
"Naruto… my son…"

Minato watched and was overwhelmed with guilt and sorrow. He opened his cabinet and took out his cloak with "Fourth Hokage" written on the back. He wore it and vanished, silently bidding farewell to Kushina and Naruto.
Minato appeared before Obito.
They fought—and Minato emerged victorious, forcing the masked man to retreat into a vortex.
"Now that I've broken the control over the Nine-Tails, I need to stop him."
Minato appeared at the Hokage monument. The Nine-Tails sensed him and began gathering concentrated red and blue chakra into a massive violet sphere, which it launched at Minato.
Minato extended his hands, forming a space-time seal that absorbed the blast and teleported it far from the village.
He then teleported the Nine-Tails to a separate location to prevent further destruction.
The idea of sealing the beast struck him.
He brought the dying Kushina and sleeping Naruto to the Nine-Tails.
He explained the plan to Kushina.
After some discussion, she agreed and summoned her chakra chains to restrain the beast—an innate power of the Uzumaki clan.
Minato formed a seal and placed his hand on the ground.
"Summoning Technique."
An altar surrounded by candles appeared.
He placed the sleeping blonde boy on it and began performing fast hand seals.
A ghostly figure appeared behind him and extracted the yang half of the Nine-Tails' soul.
As for the yin half—Minato chose to seal it within Naruto.
Sensing this, the Nine-Tails lunged its claw at the baby.
Both Minato and Kushina rushed in and shielded Naruto, sacrificing their bodies.
Minato told Kushina to say her final words.
Then he completed the sealing, and the Nine-Tails vanished. A seal appeared on Naruto's belly.
The ghost moved behind Minato and took his soul, leaving his lifeless body behind.
When the Third Hokage arrived, he found the bodies of the two heroes who saved the village, and their infant son before them.
Kushina was still alive.
"Hiruzen… take care of Naruto."
Those were her final words to the old Hokage.
He picked up the sleeping child and took him to his home temporarily.
Later, Naruto woke to the sound of the system.
