Chapter 6 - Dealing With A Nobody

With Hanna having pulled over the car, they knew they had arrived. Ilyara looked at him, a prideful smile tugging at her lips, "you're about to witness me in action," she said giggling.

Silver nodded thoughtfully, "there are no kissing scenes, right?"

Ilyara's gaze became serious, "of course not, I have never kissed anyone on set whether on screen or off screen, I have been saving this lips for only one person."

Silver raised an eyebrow, "who?"

"You dummy."

"Well how am I supposed to know that, you're a vampire, that means you lived long enough to have experience in many things. You probably had about fifteen boyfriends by now."

"I never had a boyfriend," Ilyara nonchalantly said, frustration at the edge of her voice.

Silver blinked, three times, "say that again, this time clearly, because I could've sworn you said you never had a boyfriend."

"That's exactly what I said."

Silver looked at her, really looked at her, before saying, "how old are you again?"

"327 Years Old."

Silver nodded, before rolling his eyes and chuckling mockingly, "sure, whatever you say."

Ilyara's eyes flashed with an annoyed look, "I am telling the truth, I never had a boyfriend."

"Are we leaving the car or not?" Silver changed the subject, clearly disinterested in continuing this meaningless topic.

Ilyara was growing impatient with Silver, her eyes flickered with crimson light and Silver sensed threat to his life. He quickly cleared his throat, "I was just joking, I absolutely trust and believe you."

Ilyara looked at him suspiciously, but listening to his steady heart beat and staring at his indifferent expression, she really couldn't tell whether he was lying or not. So she had no choice but to calm down.

When the impending danger disappeared Silver breathed out a mental sigh of relief, 'I almost died without getting ahold of the money, that would've been my biggest regret.'

The car door was opened by Hanna, and Ilyara stepped out with Silver right behind her. She clasped her hand with that of Silver, and gave him a carefree smile before tugging him forward

Cameras turned her way. As a few gossip vloggers across the lot lifted their phones discreetly.

Whispers spread—she brought someone with her. A production assistant muttered to another, "is that her boyfriend?"

"I don't know but his hot," another replied.

Ilyara heard that, and sharply turned towards the woman who said that. The woman shrank back, feeling a bloodthirsty glare behind Ilyara's sunglasses.

They passed through the exterior studio backlot. And Silver witnessed fascinating things. He saw fog machines that hissed quietly, spilling thick mist across a towering medieval set, where the gothic stone fortress dominates.

Crew members bustling around, adjusting spotlights and brushing hay over the cobbled "village" square. A chill lingered, artificial or otherwise.

Iron cages hang from wooden poles, their fake blood-stained bars creaking in the breeze. Chains rattle on cue as sound engineers run ambient tests. A pale, crimson-eyed vampire extra paces in silence nearby, preparing for a background shot.

Silver leaned into Ilyara, whispering, "you never told me, what kind of movie are you doing? I mean clearly it has something to do with vampires, but what else?"

"It's called Slavery Of A Vampire, set in medieval times, something never fully explored in Vampire films. It's usually used as a loose sad backstory of some nobody Vampire, but this time it's the entire focus."

"Oh," that's all Silver said.

There was nothing else he could say, he didn't watch movies thus he didn't know what to say in this types of situations.

At least Ilyara didn't seem disappointed by his half-hearted response.

They reached a destination and Ilyara went inside the makeup room, while Silver stayed outside. He was minding his business, when a nobody walked up to him.

It was an exceedingly handsome young man, about his age, 23 to 25. He was pale, with short grey hair, and a pair of menacing blue eyes.

"Are you Ilya's boyfriend?"

Silver lazily looked at him, ignoring how familiar he sounded when he called Ilyara by her nickname, even though it bothered him. He looked him up and down, his eyes narrowing.

This nobody was clearly an actor and a Vampire.

"And what if I am?"

The nobody's eye twitched, "then I'll kill you."

"You don't have to worry then, I'm not her boyfriend?" Silver replied.

The nobody smiled smugly, thinking he had intimidated Silver.

"I am her soon to be husband."

It was as if the nobody had suddenly been dosed with cold water. He clenched his hands into fists, anger contorting his face, as his eyes changed into the classic vampiric form.

But they were different from Ilyara's, his resembles that of a wolf, the irises were yellow while the sclera was dark. His hair grew wild, growing on his face, giving him the wolverine beard.

His canines became long and thick, very menacing.

His muscles began to bulge and he became bigger. Silver looked at his transformation with his permanent indifferent expression. While his heart was as steady as the calm waters.

It was not that he was brave, but an incident that happened long ago had left his sister in a coma, while he became... defective. Even at the threat of his life, he couldn't care any less.

Which seemed enrage the nobody. He was about to attack, when Hanna and Ilyara both appeared from nowhere, Ilyara between the nobody and Silver, while Hanna behind the nobody.

"Master Fenroth, I would advice you to calm yourself lest you create a problem that would require House Nocturnae to get involve. Which would not look good on both yours and young misses respective houses."

The nobody's eyes became colder and even more ferocious, but he still transformed back.

"Ilya, your can't be serious, don't tell me you're marrying this human, do you plan to shame your family even further?"

"What I choose to do with my life is none of your business Oscar, I told you before I'm not interested in you, so would you kindly fuck off."

The nobody grinded his teeth, and when he glanced over at Silver, he was smiling, mockingly at him. Anger flashed in his eyes, as be turned and walked away.

Silver then looked around and saw that people were conveniently not here. He then looked at Ilyara who wore a furious expression masking her concern.

"Ilyara, what's wrong?"

She breathed out a sigh, smoothing her expression like an expert, "nothing, he just annoyed me."

Silver was about to say something when he felt something tug at his legs. He frowned as he looked down, and saw that he was sinking into his shadow.

He looked at Ilyara, "um, I think I'm sinking, can you help me out?"

Ilyara looked at him with a frozen expression, her eyes flashing with anger he never saw in her before. He looked over her, and saw that Hanna wasn't able to move.

His heart sank when he realised, they both couldn't do anything for him.

'My money,' that was his last thought, as his entire body sank into his shadow.
