Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: Whispers from the Past

Scene: Ruins of the Old Temple

(A peaceful clearing. The ruins crumble quietly under the weight of time.

Golden light streams through the trees. The world holds its breath.)

Haruto and Airi sit in the tall grass, near the resting forms of the Time God and Time Maiden.

For the first time in days, everything is still... too still.

[Haruto] (softly)

"Everything feels... too calm now. Like the storm's just... paused."

[Airi] (nodding, her voice low)

"Yeah. But it's not over. I can feel it."

(She presses a hand over her heart, where the Ring glows faintly.)

"Something inside me is... changing."

(Haruto glances at his Watch—it pulses in time with Airi's ring, like a heartbeat they share.)

---

[Time God] (smiling faintly, voice raspy)

"You've both grown stronger... but you've only scratched the surface."

"Do you feel it? The call... of your past selves?"

---

(Suddenly—

a strange ringing sound echoes through the clearing.

Sharp. Haunting.)

Haruto and Airi gasp—

then collapse to their knees, clutching their heads.

[Airi] (crying out)

"Ahh—what is this?!"

(visions swirl before her eyes — a field of endless light, crowds of celestial beings kneeling before two radiant figures.)

[Haruto] (straining)

"Wait... I see it too... I was standing beside you..."

"We weren't just human... we were—"

---

Images flash in their minds:

A battlefield strewn with broken stars.

Shattered temples crumbling into oceans of void.

Their own divine forms — glowing, commanding armies of light.

A fragmented name flickers in Haruto's mind: "Al..."

In Airi's: "Ly..."

And then—

silence.

The vision shatters.

---

[Time Maiden] (kneeling beside them, urgent)

"Your memories are awakening."

"But not fully. Not yet."

(She touches Airi's forehead, calming the surging light.)

"The Watch and Ring... they are reacting to the remnants of your godhood."

[Haruto] (breathing heavily)

"If we were really... gods... why are we here? As humans?"

[Time God] (grim)

"Punishment. Rebirth. Fate."

(He leans back, gazing into the trembling sky.)

"Perhaps all of them."

(beat)

"But remember this—when your divine selves return... the world will either be saved—"

"—or shattered."

---

(Suddenly, the skies darken.)

The trees shudder violently.

A voice — distorted and venomous — slithers through the clearing.

[???] (mocking)

"So the gods begin to stir... how pitiful."

(On a distant ridge, a cloaked figure appears.

Face hidden. Presence crushing.)

The Time God's eyes narrow sharply.

[Time God] (low, deadly)

"A herald of the Fallen One..."

(The figure vanishes — like mist before flame — leaving behind a blackened sigil scorched into the earth:

a crescent, scarred by a jagged bolt of lightning.)

[Airi] (shivering)

"That sigil... it feels... familiar."

[Haruto] (fists clenching)

"This isn't over."

"Whatever this 'Fallen One' is… we're not running anymore."

---

Night falls.

(The ruins glow faintly under the stars.

Haruto and Airi sit close, their hands touching.)

For a brief moment, their eyes meet —

and something deep, ancient, unbreakable pulses between them.

A ripple of divine energy spreads unseen through the earth.

---

Final Scene:

In a realm of endless shadow, Kazuki kneels.

Before him — a monstrous silhouette looms, crowned by two flaming eyes.

[Dark God] (voice a death knell)

"They remember."

"Soon, they will awaken."

"We must act... before the light blinds us again."

Fade to black.
