"Ugh—!"
The Evil God let out a furious roar, his face twisted with malice. His massive hands surged with dense black mist, and within that mist, a grotesque skull emerged.
He then hurled It with all his might at Paimon. The skull, wreathed in dark fog, shot straight toward her in an instant.
From within the black mist came a chorus of ghostly wails and howls. A normal god might not even need to be struck—just hearing that terrifying sound would shatter their concentration.
Paimon's eyes twitched. Despite never having learned any techniques, she instinctively stretched out her tiny hand and lightly grasped at the air.
Boom!
The powerful skull attack was suddenly caught as if by an invisible force, then detonated with a loud blast.
The black mist lost its cohesion and dissipated, flowing back to the Evil God and gathering around him once more.
"Kindness, what kind of move was that?!"
Though furious, the Evil God wasn't stupid.
This girl had casually nullified his attack with a single gesture. He now had no choice but to reassess Paimon.
"I don't know."
The Goddess of Kindness pursed her lips before continuing,
"I told you not to attack, and you didn't listen."
"We only came to investigate the source of that strange energy. And now, thanks to your reckless move, I can confirm it—it came from her."
The Goddess of Kindness stared at Paimon, her expression conflicted.
The Divine Realm was playing a grand game of chess, and the entire Douluo Continent was the board.
Their duty was to ensure the continent unfolded according to their designs so they could implement a series of critical plans.
And those plans allowed no room for unexpected variables.
Everything had been going smoothly—both the chessboard and its pieces were in perfect order.
But not long ago, someone on the continent had made a contract with the Heavenly Dao through the will of the people. The move had shaken the entire divine realm.
The Heavenly Dao was no longer just an independent entity—it had become a key part of the gods' overarching plan.
If anything went wrong with it, it would be a catastrophic blow to their agenda.
Fortunately, the incident hadn't caused the Heavenly Dao to spiral out of control. In fact, part of its power had been siphoned away, making it even easier to manipulate.
But then, an unexpected outsider god had appeared, upending their understanding of the cosmos.
The god kings of the Douluo Divine Realm weren't the pinnacle of power. In the vast universe, there were beings far beyond their strength.
It had taken the combined force of many gods to barely repel just one of the outsider's avatars.
That event only made their determination stronger—they had to accelerate their plans.
Afterward, they tightened their control over the continent.
So when that mysterious surge of energy erupted earlier that day, it instantly drew the attention of both Kindness and Evil God. But the energy vanished too quickly, and they couldn't locate its source immediately.
After scouring the region, they finally found traces of it lingering in Heaven Dou City.
Sure enough, when Paimon stepped in to block the Evil God's attack, the Goddess of Kindness felt the same energy surge again.
"Could she be another outsider god?" the Evil God asked in a low voice.
As gods, they knew that the universe was full of countless planes of existence. But with their current strength, they couldn't yet break through the barriers between worlds.
That was the very reason they had launched this long-term plan on Douluo Continent—to build divine power and eventually break into other realms.
"She has no divine position, and I've never seen her before. Clearly, she's another outsider god… like that one," Flame analyzed.
"Then we have to capture her now—hand her over to Asura. These outsider gods keep appearing in our realm. That's a bad omen."
The Evil God's voice turned grave.
He had sensed from their brief exchange that her power wasn't suited for combat. And from her aura, she was only a first-class god.
If he attacked with full strength, taking her down shouldn't be a problem.
"I don't agree," Kindness cut in. "We should try talking to her. Violence isn't the only option."
"You think she looks like someone we can talk to?"
The Evil God sneered, gesturing at Paimon's grumpy expression.
"I'll make the first move. If anything weird happens, cover me!"
"Hey! Are you two done whispering? If you're not here to fight, just apologize and get lost! Don't waste my nap time."
Paimon looked at them with an annoyed scowl, muttering inwardly.
If you're gonna fight, just fight! Why all the yammering in the middle of a battle?
"Hmph! No matter what realm you're from, you will kneel and accept judgment in my Douluo Divine Realm!"
With a snort, the Evil God charged. Before his words had even faded, he was already in front of Paimon, fist shrouded in black mist, brimming with power.
Paimon had no battle experience. Caught off guard, she reflexively raised both arms to block.
Boom!
The blow sent her flying several dozen meters before she could stabilize herself.
"Hahahahaha! So much for being an outsider god!"
The Evil God laughed wildly.
Compared to the last one, this outsider was a total pushover.
"Hmph! Rewind…"
Paimon wasn't sure how she knew the name of this skill—she just knew it was the right thing to use.
She reached out, clenched her fist—and the space in front of her began to twist.
Dozens of ghostly afterimages spread outward, each one a copy of her tumbling body from moments before.
In the blink of an eye, her body flickered—and she reappeared exactly where she had stood before.
"Hmph! No matter what realm you're from, you will kneel and accept judgment in my Douluo Divine Realm!"
The same ugly voice echoed again.
But this time, Paimon didn't just stand there and take it.
She spread her arms wide. Two invisible orbs of energy began to form in her palms. Though they gave off no aura, the space around them rippled with distortion.
"Rewind!"
With a cold shout, she flung the energy forward. The orbs engulfed the Evil God's charging fist, and space twisted violently.
Sensing a terrifying force, the Evil God panicked and turned back to scream for help.
"Kindness, hel—"
WHAM!
He didn't finish.
Paimon had him by the collar with one hand.
"Tch tch tch… Who knew you were such a nasty little kid?"
She gave him a look of pure disgust.
Then clenched her fist—and smashed it into his face.
"UWAHHH—!!"
The Evil God burst into tears, clutching his face and wailing like a child.
"Eww, gross. Go away!"
Paimon flung him into the air with a flick of her wrist, then raised her long leg and kicked him straight toward the Goddess of Kindness.
"Waaah! Kindness, help meee—!"
The Goddess of Kindness stared in wide-eyed shock at the sobbing child in her arms. She still couldn't believe it.
This… this crybaby was the so-called embodiment of darkness and evil—the God of Evil himself.
