Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 - Be a Doll

As I looked at Lex, whose jab was nearly dragging along the floor, I couldn't help but smile.

'Perfect'

I stepped closer to Lex and bowed, one hand over my chest.

"Mr. Lex, as promised, I brought the goods. I hope they're to your liking."Lex looked at me and smiled, patting my shoulder.

"Good! Good! Good! I wasn't expecting much from you, Hugo, but damn! You really surprised me!" he said.

He approached Carly, who didn't move an inch.Lex circled her, smiling.

"Nice figure, pretty face… Where were you hiding all this time?" he said, eyeing her.

She didn't respond—just gave a small nod.

As I looked at Carly, I felt my hand slightly tremble.

'Remember, Carly, everything depends on how well you can act.'

[Thirty minutes earlier]

After Carly had finished dressing, she stepped out in her gown.

Noah nodded and sat her down on a nearby chair, pulling out his emergency makeup kit—which he always kept in his pocket.

"Carly."

"Yes?"

"I've never worked with anyone. No matter how difficult things were… I always managed on my own. And I like it that way."

"I-I see…"

"Unfortunately, today's infiltration… I can't do it alone. There's no time. So I'm going to depend on you.""M-m-me?""Yes. I need you to be… a doll."

"A doll?"

"Exactly," I said, pulling out a small lipstick.

"Tonight, I'll make sure you're the most beautiful woman in this school. Someone even Lex won't be able to resist."

"That means he'll probably try to touch you. Maybe even worse," I said.

"Touch me…" Carly whispered, hugging herself in fear.

"I know. That's why I need you to stay still."

"Don't respond to him."

"Don't flinch."

"Don't resist."

"You just need to be… a doll."

"I-I can't…" Carly muttered.

"You're right. You can't… That's why I'm going to teach you a little trick."

"A trick?"

"Yes. Something that'll help you forget everything."

As I looked at Carly, I noticed the subtle movement of her lips.

"This isn't real…"

"This isn't real…"

"This isn't real…"

She repeated it like a broken machine. It was the trick I taught her—like a mantra, a way to disconnect from reality

And it worked.

After all…

I used it when my sister died.

Lex hugged Carly and walked toward me.

"Come with me," he said.I nodded and followed behind him.

As we walked toward his VIP room, I looked around. The place was huge, filled with doors. At the center stood a table with food and drinks. There were five doors in total, each marked with a woman's name. Four women were pole dancing on platforms around the table.

'This looks more like a strip club than a school.'

At the entrance to the VIP room stood two guards, like the ones at the main gate, saluting as they opened the doors.

'Two soldiers… I can work with that.'

Inside the room, a woman sat near the entrance.

"Roxanne, this is Hugo. Hugo, this is my right hand, Roxanne."

"Hello, Miss!" I said, bowing.

"Hmph!" She didn't even look at me and turned her gaze toward Carly.

"Is this your new bitch?"

Lex grinned and grabbed Carly's ass.

"Exactly. This is the most gorgeous woman I've come across so far."

"I see," said Roxanne flatly.

"I promised Hugo I'd take him under my wing if he impressed me. And damn, he really did a good job. You know I like talent—he's got it," Lex said, patting me.

"Whatever you say…" she replied.

"So, little Roxanne, give him a tour of our domain. He'll be in charge of… acquiring goods. You know our clients are always demanding more."

"Got it."

Roxanne walked toward the door.

"Come with me," she said.

I nodded and followed her.

I gave one last look at Carly, who remained motionless—like a doll.Yet, I wasn't afraid something bad would happen to her. After all…I smiled

"Everything will be over before anything happens."
