As I was about to leave as well, Kevin and Su (though more Kevin) pulled me aside "What?" He just looked at me as if he was considering whether to say something. "How do you know Mei? Didn't you just transfer in yesterday? Did you know here before you got here?" It seemed that Su saw Kevin was unable to say it said it for him, which is probably why he is just nodding like an bobble head.
"I only met her today, I introduced myself, we talked and then the bell rung." Hey its true, I met here, introduced myself, and we 'Talked' until the bell went. "Why did she even talk to you then? she doesn't talk to anyone, except when needed, like never." Su seemed to not believe and so did Kevin judging by him adding to what Su said "Su's right and besides that didn't look like a "He pull literal air quotes ""Talk" between to strangers who just met today. What are not telling us?"
Well I gotta give them something or they won't leave it alone. "Fine, only because I can tell you won't leave me alone otherwise. Well I introduced myself and her book was on quantum physics so I asked her to tell me what she knows leading to well the 'Talk' you saw earlier. I ain't here boyfriend, childhood friend or anything like that if that's what your worried about." That seemed to soothe his worries.
Kevin got a wry smile. "Was it that obvious?"
Su putting his arm around Kevin leading in suspiciously close and said "From the other side of the planet buddy, that's how obvious you are. You might as well have a sign saying "Mei Reject me for being a simp" who knows at least that way she might actually look at you." Ouch that's gotta hurt.
Well the worst she can say is NO right? nah the WORST she can DO is video it, insult, humiliate and then upload it for all to see, now that, that is the worst. You lose both the chance and all dignity you had up until that point. (A/N: No this is not from experience)

Seeing Kevin kneel over just to die? It does look like his soul wants to leave his body, never seen someone so embarrassed they tried to force their soul to leave their own body. I kneel down next to him. "What do you think about me introducing you to her in future maybe?"
Almost as if revied from them brink and with over exaggerated movements that almost seem comical he jumps up, spins, lands and then clasps both his hands over my right hand looking at me... IS THIS DUDE AN ANIME CHARACTER OR SOMETHING, what's with those eyes, what the fuck is that? I guess the dimension is more flexible than it seems. Urgh, does that mean the TOON FORCE exists here too. I look at Kevin again. OF COURSE IT FUCKING DOES, please nothing bad, pr at least I hope.
"Pretty please Thor, I'll buy you noodles later, on me." As if that would happen Kevin would just still somehow pawn it of to him in some way shape or form. If I had to be honest Su's sudden sign language for 'Don't do it' over and over might of given it away, just a little.
"Sigh, Sure I guess I could, but don't count on it who's to say we even talk to each other again in future... Also no need to both with the noodles, you wouldn't pay for it anyway. Your broke" And now its as if he got hit with an arrow through the heart and staggered back and becoming sludge like while hanging onto the desk as if he's also just been shot on top of that. Yep definitely the TOON FORCE, Fuck that's going to be annoying to deal with.
"Su!! Did you hear that?! you recorded it right?! He can't go back on it n-." Pfft.

Kevin's sudden pivot to Su seemed to surprise even him as out of what seemed like reflex he punched Kevin in the face pushing him into the desk behind him. Seeing what he just did Su ran right over to Kevin to help him up. Apologising for punching him while Thorald off to the side seems to be holding back a laugh.
"No no, its fine Su its on me I was a bit excited after Thor, said he would introduce me to Mei you see." He said all that while checking all over himself only to have a wry smile when he sees the small tear on his shirt from the edge of the desk but was fine with it. It was his own fault after all.
"Phew, At least your fine don't want you getting injured before your tournament next week."
"That reminds me when's Ellie flying in? She did say she was gonna come to watch the game didn't she?" Kevin perked up after remember in that.
"Sunday is what she told me, so most likely Saturday to give us a-" He put his hands on his cheek -'Surprise'. You know this Kevin oh wait let me guess you(I) were(was) ""eating Noodles"". Su deadpans at him.
"Fucking moron why is all you think of is noodles." He gave him a light slap at the back of the head.
"I don't know, there just that good, also, Language." Su Sighed
"Well you two can continue you little couples squabble, I've got places to be." pointing at Kevin" Yes Kevin I will introduce you if it can come to that though don't expect any help that's all you, just don't blow it... Suck it" And with that I leave. Mic drop moment for sure.

Su just stares at the door than looks at Kevin "Suck it? What does that mean?"
Kevin just ignored him and stared at the door Thorald left through muttering "Sasuga Thor-sama"
"Huh" Su was left confused.

Now that I'm finally out of there I can finally go and see what these Honkai Beasts are like in person. Some can even be the size of buildings.
Activating my traversal runes I make my way to Kanazawa as there was a Outbreak a few days ago according to the article I read and I doubt FireMoth has the capabilities to fully contain the outbreak so there must be a few I can pick off that slipped through the cracks, though not the large ones sadly, would be cool though.

Just under an hour of running later I make it to Kanazawa. Seems Nagazora is where Nagasaki used to be on my Earth, guess that's the butterfly effect in action.
I look at the blockade in front of me. Agents in suits from what are clearly FireMoth, yet their weapons seem interesting at the least. Well stealth time. Activating the stealth runs Thorald begins to sneak his way to grab one of the unattended for guns.

Coming up to the gun I *YOINK* it and with that its also affected by my runes. Making my way past the rest of the blockade I come across what can only be described as a Nuke went off here. You've got the flattened buildings, 'burnt' debris' corpses? no, these are the zombies? I lean down to take a look at the and use a very special rune of my own though whether it works on Honkai energy or not, I'll find out now.
"Rune Hive: Identify"
Annnnd, Nope. Nothing, Nada, Mooch. just a few crackles of Honkai energy and then it shattered. Well that's annoying, I loved using that rune. It was fun using it to tell someone how much "Gold" was using in their "Golden" Watch that cost them 2,000,000 Credits, guess I gotta make it work with Honkai in future.
I place my hand on the zombie, expecting a reaction to my physical runes yet nothing, I this time use an authority instead.
"Decay"
Yep, and just like that the zombies corpse slowly blackens, withers, and scatters into flakes in the wind. So authorities work as they don't come into contact with Honkai energy or they straight up overpower it? I can touch them or well zombies or low levels of honkai concentration at least without my runes affected.
Standing up I pat my legs to get any possible zombie flakes off me I continue on deeper into the city finding a higher and higher concentration of Honkai energy and zombie corpses.
I arrived at what I'm guessing is the point of Outbreak judging by what is the densest level of Honkai Energy I've ever seen, not like there's much competition to that. So how does this outbreak form and why here? I can't use runes to "identify", "Sense" and "Locate" so that leaves just deduction I guess. Lets say Honkai energy is not an alien energy brought along with Honkai but is a universal power system like Mana was in my Earth, that would explain why all this time there has not been a change in the density of the ambient Honkai energy in the environment, and that's only changed when I came to this city that was the site of an outbreak so that makes sense.
Now how does that make an outbreak? Is it linked to negative emotions maybe and that's why they happen mostly in cities and not smaller "Towns", that would make sense if we make th-

A/N:
Well a 'little bit' of Kevin and Su character development. Also no its not bullshit that dudes can be friends that quick. Its normal asking the para comments and a guy will tell you.
Next chapter is my first attempt at a fight though I prefer quick and decisive fights rather than the drawn out padded fights for no reason.
Also the first character intro for Eden as well. Will be around 3K words.
