Chapter 3 - chapter 3. THINKING

Days went on with the same routine; eating, playing, sleeping, outing and of course beatings. I and my cousin finally resumed I was so happy because I could finally leave the house and make friends and have people of my age to talk to, I completed nine years old that period. My aunt took I and my cousin to register, we book our books, uniforms, new school bag, lunch box and socks I was so excited then with the whole lots of new things and it was also a new school I enrolled for Basic 5 class. I missed those good old days

We resumed the nextweek and my-my it was a blast, I made lots of new friends alot of them talked to me first because I was cool(haha) and fthe teacher also liked me I won't brag but I was the smartest (hehe). I was really good to be like and adored by people who you don't know. But I won't say same for my cousin brother, he was as calm, quite and shy as ever, the sit we kept him was where we met him when we came to pick him up, I even wonder if he went to pee.

My aunt and her husband came to pick us up and immediately our face dropped I could feel the fear coming from my cousin brother anyways we entered the car greeted him and my aunt. Then the car became silent, he spoke up and asked us why are we so quite my heart beat immediately sped up because even his voice alone is terrifying, how can a kid answer that kind of question lucky my aunt chimed in and answered "they are tired you know it's the first day of school" I breathe a sigh of relief. We got home I immediately got of the car went to my room and freshened up and remain there, and before I forget whenever he's around if he doesn't eat nobody eats, he always eat first. So I had to stay in my room before been called to eat , it didn't take long I heard my name then went outside to answer thinking it was to eat but he told me to sit in the sitting room with him that what am I doing in my room, I sat down there not feeling comfortable and fidgeting for he has already instill that fear in me. Few minutes later he called Simeon also and told him same. As for Simeon his fear was visible on his face and he was also shaking. My aunt husband called him and asked him what's wrong with him but he couldn't look at him talk less of answering, then he shouted "AM TALKING TO YOU ANSWER" Simeon finally voiced out the word*Nothing sir*, before I knew a sharp sound rang out, my head flew up to see that my cousin brother was slapped hard across the face crying and shaking in fear with his face swollen, my aunt ran out from wherever she was to see the scene, she begged him to let him go that's he's only a kid and took her son out of there, I sat down there reasoning that she didn't do same for me when I was been beaten. I was hurt and said to myself I shouldn't be thinking and going through all this as a kid.
