Chapter 25 - Xiao Wu? Strange

"Boss?"Xiao Yan gave a bitter smile. "Forget about being the boss, just be yourself."

Right now, he couldn't say he was carrying a blood feud, but his hatred was very deep.

Coming to this Soul Master Academy, naturally, he had to study Soul Master knowledge diligently and refine his martial skills. Where would he have time to fool around with these kids?

Wang Sheng wore a very serious expression and said solemnly, "That's the rule. Whoever's fist is stronger, is the boss. You think being the boss is easy? I'm not joking with you, look…"

As he spoke, Wang Sheng rolled up both sleeves of his school uniform.

Xiao Yan was shocked to see that both of Wang Sheng's arms were covered with seven or eight bluish-purple scars.

Wang Sheng smiled bitterly and explained, "These were just from yesterday when I first arrived at the academy. We working students all come from poor families. The other dorm students often bully us from Dorm Seven. As the boss of the dorm, I have to stand up for my brothers. I'd love to pass this responsibility onto you."

The other students all nodded frequently, their youthful faces showing a glimmer of hope as they looked at Xiao Yan.

Xiao Yan suddenly realized why he got bullied as soon as he arrived. So this was the culture of this junior Soul Master Academy.

Xiao Yan asked, "Don't the teachers at the academy care?"

Seeing Xiao Yan was just a greenhorn fresh out of the village, Wang Sheng shook his head bitterly, "Care? Except for us, the other students are noble kids with prestigious backgrounds. How could the teachers control that? They don't side with the nobles, and just letting us resist is already a blessing…"

He sighed long again.

Although Wang Sheng didn't say more, Xiao Yan had some ideas.

In this Douluo Continent, power comes from bloodline. The noble kids naturally overpower these working-class students. The so-called resistance is just so the nobles don't get too bored.

Xiao Yan took a black clay bottle from his chest and handed it to Wang Sheng: "There's some healing medicine inside. Apply it, it'll speed up your recovery."

This was something he made during his spare time practicing cultivation, always carrying a few bottles just in case the old dog Tang Hao suddenly attacked and he got hurt — so he could recover faster. Never thought he'd have to use it on someone else.

Wang Sheng popped the stopper, took a quick sniff of the herbal scent, and felt a refreshing sensation. Though from a humble background, he could tell this healing medicine was extraordinary.

Xiao Yan didn't hold a grudge over his earlier rude attack and generously gifted him healing medicine... When Wang Sheng looked up at Xiao Yan again, his eyes showed even more respect.

Just then, a crisp voice came from outside:

"Is this Dorm Seven?"

Everyone looked towards the door, eyes wide.

A cute little girl stood there, shorter than Xiao Yan by a head. Her pretty face was rosy and tender, like a ripe peach — making one want to take a bite.

Although her clothes were plain, she looked neat. Her black hair was braided into a scorpion braid that hung past her hips, and her big, watery eyes were full of curiosity.

She was holding a brand new school uniform, clearly another new working student.

The dorm was all boys, so seeing such a pretty girl suddenly made them all stunned.

Xiao Yan's eyes flashed with a hidden black light as he carefully examined the girl and found something the others didn't notice.

This seemingly cute little girl was actually much stronger than Wang Sheng — her innate soul power was clearly high.

"Can she stay here with us?"Xiao Yan turned to Wang Sheng and asked.

Wang Sheng nodded, "We're all still kids. The school dorms don't separate by gender until the intermediate Soul Master Academy. But it's really strange — last year we had zero working students; this year, two have come."

Wang Sheng gave Xiao Yan a look: "Boss, come on, give her a warm welcome."

Curious about the Soul Master, Xiao Yan wouldn't miss this opportunity.

The girl at the door blinked her big almond eyes, seeing no one inside paying attention, then looked at the Dorm Seven sign on the door and smiled sweetly, "Hello, I'm Xiao Wu — the 'Wu' as in dance."

"Xiao Wu? The 'Xiao' as in 'small'?"Xiao Yan stepped out and casually asked as he walked toward her.

Xiao Wu blinked and smiled, "Yes."

Xiao Yan felt a little strange — encountering the rare surname 'Xiao'?

Suppressing his doubt, Xiao Yan said, "Hi, I'm Xiao Yan, the boss here. My martial soul is Blue Silver Grass. The rule in Dorm Seven is that new working students have to spar. If you win, the boss position is yours."

Xiao Wu nodded with interest, "Interesting. My martial soul is a rabbit — a very cute little white rabbit."

Xiao Yan wanted to laugh. He'd seen plenty of little white rabbits — very tasty, top quality.

Xiao Wu placed her school uniform aside, a bit excited: "Alright, let's go!"

The moment the words fell, Xiao Wu suddenly charged at Xiao Yan, her right leg flashing like lightning, toes flicking out toward Xiao Yan's chin.

The speed and power of this strike were totally beyond Wang Sheng's level.

Xiao Yan's eyes narrowed slightly; his right hand shot out, grabbed Xiao Wu's ankle in an instant, then he quickly stepped back two steps, pulling his palm down to the ground.

Xiao Wu's body fell toward the ground, legs straightened in a perfect split.

If she weren't wearing pants instead of a skirt, there might have been a risk of exposure.

Xiao Wu blushed with a bit of embarrassment, using the strength in Xiao Yan's hand for support, she twisted her body and swung her left leg to kick at Xiao Yan's temple, forcing him to let go.

Such strong flexibility!

Xiao Yan silently sighed at how extraordinary this girl was. He straightened his body and raised his hand to block the incoming foot, then grabbed her new kicking ankle with the other hand.

Controlling both of Xiao Wu's ankles, Xiao Yan shook his wrist, releasing a subtle force, and stepped back another two steps, as if trying to slam her to the ground like a fish.

However, he had no intention to injure her. With a thought, blue silver grass quickly grew from the ground, binding Xiao Wu as she fell.

Feeling the vines tightening, Xiao Wu's face visibly reddened like a ripe apple, and she quickly said, "Let me go, I admit defeat!"

Watching Xiao Wu standing stiff and bound, Xiao Yan smiled, "According to dorm rules, since you lost, you're my little sister from now on."
