Chapter 10 - EPD 5 : CHP 10 : ANGUISH

Zohn lay dead on the ground, demobilized. His arms felt heavy. His was in his own pool of blood. His heart was quiet, drifting deep and away, ceasing in. His lifeforce could be no more. After five years of being a Hunter, his last actions was going to be today? Why? why was fate so cruel? At least it should have let him marry before dying. All his dreams was about to be crushed in just one outbreak.

He struggled to raise his head up . To his suprise ,Marie was laying on the ground somewhere close. He stared at her body wondering why he did not see it coming. It came all of a sudden. He twisted his body and began crawling towards her slowly. Dragging his heavy body through his mess.

"Oh shit!! Now what!? If I can't protect her then of what use am I to her?" Zohn cursed as he dragged on. He managed to get close enough. He placed his right hand on her chest to check her heart beat but his eyes widened instantly in shock.

Tears formed up effortlessly in his eyes and he bowed his head low in disgust and remorse. She was dead. Her heart pulse was zero. He could feel her eyes staring at him. She had brought in something different in his life. He had changed from the ruthless criminal to a calm Hunter Leader. All thanks to her , he knew what love was.

"Damn it!!" Zohn exclaimed in anger. He forced himself to sit up right beside her body and it was then he noticed that his left lower arm was chopped off and a sharp slice around his chest. He stared at it in shock but quickly brushed it off as he remembered Marie.

He caressed Marie's face with his right hand. Emotions stirred up within him. He had never done this while she was alive. He knew he had string emotions for her but sometimes he tried not to admit it. His tears fell on her face and the early rays of the sun hit it.

"Why did I never tell her? Why did I never tell that I loved her? Why did I always try to seem ignorant? Why couldn't I save her? Damn!!! I'm useless!!" Zohn cursed again.

"Really? Why so?" Zohn heard a voice. He turned sharply to see Aaron .

"Huh! Where the fuck have you been? Where..." Zohn paused as Aaron revealed the head of a demon. If had a fierce look on it. Its dreaded face ignited fear. Zohn gasped and tears poured down his cheek.

"You do not look good. What..." Aaron asked and it was then he noticed Marie's dead body. Immediately, he understood what happened. Zohn smiled widely as tears poured down his cheek .

"She died. I watched her die. I did nothing to save her. She... she was good to us. She always cared for us and I could not repay her back just this once. Look at us, we have lost Maczed and Marie. Right now I doubt if James is still alive. He went to get the demon boss,..." Zohn paused for a while and stared again at the head in Aaron's hand.

"Is that the head of the demon boss?" Zohn asked slowly. Aaron nodded lightly.

"Then if that is the head of the demon boss, James should still be Alice. At least not all of us died. Even though I might, later on. I have lost much blood, I doubt if I will last long on earth." Zohn said. Aaron grinned lightly.

"Are you just gonna sit there and drown in your blood? You sit there and accept defeat? Not the Zohn I met five years ago." Aaron said and threw the head of the demon. Zohn stared at him, his eyes burrowed deep into Aaron's eyes.

"Knock it off. This is not the Zohn I knew. The faster you are at realising who you are the better you will get." Aaron said and began to walk away.

"Wait! Where are you going?" Zohn asked. Aaron stopped abruptly.

"To get James. "He said and smiled.

The Central Hunters Guild was located in the district of Sateral City. Its massive structure towered above every other building in the premises. The Central Hunters were the strongest hunters in the world, they were gifted energetically super human abilities and they sure dis wield this power to its greatest .

There were ten Central Hunters who assumed roles in the Central Hunters Guild. The Central Hunters Guild had the best Hunters and as such they were treated with dignity and respect. Some even feared them. They were at the helm of affairs in the world . Their word was law.

Amongst these ten Central Hunters was Welsen, a tall man who cared less or nothing for others. His cold nature caused his fellow Central Hunters to have a set back on him. His green hair waved in the air and his black cloak waved in the direction of the early morning breeze.

Welsen was standing on the top of the Guild building staring at nothing but the sky. He always stayed here to have quiet time with himself. He looked at the street of Sateral. The beauty of the city piercing through his eyes. This city always enjoyed safety all thanks to the Central Hunters.

But safety was a different game when it came to internal enemies. Chaos could spring up with roots, only to cause havoc to those who experience it and right now, Welsen just saw it.

In the blink of an eye, a little explosion boomed in the city. Welsen stared in horror. Of all the internal crises, only two caused grief to the greatest height – the Ninjas and the hybrid criminals. Welsen tightened his fists and jumped down the massive building.

He looked around to see people running. He walked in the opposite direction, not turning around, looking for the culprit. Then he saw a fast movement around him. He simply side stepped and caught the punch from behind. He tilted his head slowly and saw a man with grey hair and a untrimmed beard.

"A criminal huh?" Welsen murmured. With little or no effort he squeezed the arm of the man. In an instant, it bursted open. The man screamed in pain and attempted another strike but Welsen turned to face him. Welsen caught his left hand and pulled it out.

"Please spare me. Please." The criminal pleaded. Welsen sighed lightly.

"You are not the only one who came." Welsen said and dropped his palm on the criminal's face. Creating tension between his fingers Welsen bursted the face of the criminal.

"Not such a hybrid I guess." Welsen said and felt someone touch his back. He turned instantly and was about punching when he heard a light scream. An elderly woman was crying before him.

"What is the matter?" Welsen asked. The woman stared at him as tears poured down her cheek. Welsen looked at her sternly.

"He took the boy." the woman said. Welsen looked at her puzzled.

"What do you mean ma'am?" Welsen asked again. The woman cried again.

"He took my son." the woman said showed Welsen a picture of a man with black silk hair in her phone. His arms were kind of wrapped with chains. Welsen stared at the picture before smiling at her. She stared at him in surprise.

"Don't worry ma'am, I will get your son back." Welsen said. The woman smiled gracefully.
