Chapter 13 - chapter 11:blood in water

Later that night . Yohan's study

Yohan's p.o.v

Rain slicked the estate's glass ceiling, a whispering rhythm above the silent room. Lee Yohan , bathed in cold blue light from a wall of monitors. Each screen displayed a different angle of the Incheon shipping yard wide shots of rusting containers, infrared figures moving through the darkness, and a thermal outline of a man sitting in a fortified office. Kang Jae-seok.

Yohan's fingers drummed against the armrest.

Seo Jin stood to the side, tense but quiet, eyes flicking between feeds. "Yuri's team is in position."

Yohan leaned forward, glass untouched at his side.

"Begin."

______________

Midnight, the shipyard ...

Yuri's pov

The rain masked footsteps. Perfect cover.

Yuri crouched behind a shipping container, earpiece catching the echo of Yohan's order. Begin.

With a flick of his fingers, his men fanned out shadows among metal husks. Suppressed gunfire whispered through the night one guard down, then another.

Inside the Incheon perimeter, a thug stood smoking beneath a flickering light. He barely turned before Yuri's knife opened his throat, hot blood mixing with rain. Yuri didn't pause. Every kill was a beat in a symphony Yohan had composed.

They breached the first building a rundown storage hub turned armory. Grenade. Silence. Then a burst of flames as three bodies crumpled.

Yuri's voice crackled through to Yohan: "Area one cleared. Moving to the main office."

Yohan replied, calm as death itself. "Very good "

Yuri grinned.

Yohan didn't blink as bodies dropped on screen.

He watched Yuri move like a reaper silent, unrelenting, almost beautiful in his violence. It was like watching a storm he'd summoned.

Screen seven flickered as Yuri entered the main building. The camera inside gave a distorted feed enough to show the wide office and the man seated inside: Kang Jae-seok, pouring himself a drink with shaking hands.

Yohan leaned forward slightly. His voice, smooth as velvet, cut through the comms. "Alive, Yuri. But make sure he wishes he wasn't."

Seo Jin swallowed hard.

The camera caught it clearly — Kang standing abruptly, pulling a pistol from his desk drawer. Too late.

Yuri kicked the door in, gun drawn, but he didn't fire. He wanted his hands on this bastard.

Jae-seok shot and missed. Yuri was already across the room.

The second shot was swatted aside as Yuri slammed his fist into the alpha's jaw, sending him crashing over the desk. A crunch teeth, maybe bone. Jae-seok tried to crawl.

Yuri stepped on his hand and ground it into the floor.

"You thought you are something right ?

The first punch broke Jae-seok's nose. The second caved in his cheek. Yuri didn't stop. Not until the man's face was a ruin, blood mixing with spit and rain as it poured in through the shattered window.

He pulled a plastic zip tie around Jae-seok's wrists and hoisted him up by the collar.

Outside, his men dragged the last of the Incheon soldiers into a pile bodies stacked, throats slit, some still twitching.

Yuri radioed in: "Target secured. The rest are dead."

Yohan's eyes narrowed. "Bring him to the club.

A beat of silence before yuri responded. "Understood".

Yohan hung up and turned to Seo Jin. "Prepare the torture chamber . I want everything set for the interrogation."

Seo Jin gave a short nod before moving off to execute the orders. Yohan's mind was already working, piecing together the puzzle Jae seok had tried to create. The Gwangrim leader's failed attempt to pit Yohan against Kwon-do wasn't just about power it was something else .

_______

Early in the morning… yohan's study

Yuri entered the study with something in his hand.

Yohan barely glanced up from his drink.

"It's done?" he asked.

"Every last one," Yuri replied.

Jae-seok's locked down and waiting."

Yohan gave a silent nod. He trusted Yuri to clean up what needed cleaning.

But Yuri didn't leave.

Instead, he stepped closer, holding out a battered black sketchbook/diary . The corners were frayed, the cover warped with age and fingerprints.

Yohan raised an eyebrow. "What's this?"

"Found it in Jae-seok's desk," Yuri said quietly. "Thought you should see it."

Yohan took the book with one hand, flipping it open.

Drawings.

Dozens of them. Wolves — over and over again. Golden-eyed, regal, snarling, wounded. Some fierce, others heartbreakingly small and curled in on themselves , some bleeding, others smiling.

He turned the page — and then stopped.

March 12th

He looked at me today. Just for a second. At the bar, in that stupid green shirt. God, I think he's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. If I don't get closer, I might go insane.

Yohan's brow twitched.

More pages. More drawings. More writing scrawled between images of clubs, empty dance floors, and a tall alpha in a dark coat.

April 2nd

He doesn't remember me. I was stupid to think one night meant something to him. But it meant everything to me. I can still feel his scent on my skin some nights, and it's been weeks.

April 14th

I went back to the club again. I stood outside for two hours just to see if his car would show up. It didn't. Maybe he's just busy. Maybe he's somewhere with someone else. No. No. I won't think about that. I just need to be patient. He'll see me.

Yohan's hands stilled.

The next few pages blurred — drawings growing more erratic. Faces twisted in anguish. A wolf biting its own tail. A heart carved with the letter Y over and over again.

Then:

May 3rd

I'm tired. I haven't eaten in two days. Everything smells like him. Why won't he see me? Why won't he remember me? I don't want to die. But if I disappeared, would he even notice?

The pencil lines darkened — angry scratches cut into the paper.

May 7th

I saw him laughing with someone else tonight. I screamed into my pillow until my throat tore. Jae-seok says I need help. But how do you treat a soul that's already been abandoned?

Yohan slammed the book shut.

His jaw was tight. Knuckles pale around the spine.

Yuri said nothing.

"His name?" Yohan asked, voice like gravel.

"Kang du -ri ," Yuri answered. "Twenty four . Used to dance part-time at the club, his first time was with you . He never got over it."

Yohan didn't look up.

"I checked," Yuri continued quietly. "He was in a psychiatric facility after a suicide attempt. Jae-seok got him help. He started to stabilize."

Yohan swallowed hard.

"Until he heard you were in love," Yuri finished. "With someone else."

Silence.

Then Yohan dropped the sketchbook/ diary on the desk like it burned his hands. Walked past Yuri, grabbed his coat, and said, coldly:

"Get the car ready. I'm going to the club."

Yuri nodded. "What should I do with the book?"

Yohan didn't answer.

But as he walked away, the page fluttered open behind him — to a final entry:

June 16th

I hope he's happy. I really do. Maybe he'll remember me in his next life. In this one… I'm just someone who loved too much...
