Reva took out a small communication tablet and spoke into it.
From the looks of it, many things had changed in Eterna—especially the magic tech and civilization.
Vahn had access to Davis's memories, and he was intrigued by how much the world had developed.
The once apocalyptic land had become a utopia of magical civilization.
Humans were now the dominant race, having acquired vast territories across Eterna.
Now, the world was divided into many kingdoms and nations. Monarchies remained the dominant form of rule, though a few free nations had formed in hopes of achieving equality.
More importantly, this era was now known as the Age of Heroes.
Anyone could become a Hero, as long as they passed the test administered by the Hero Association of Eterna.
Heroes were ranked from F, E, D, C, B, A, all the way to the prestigious S-rank.
Naturally, the Hero Association held significant authority, far more than most monarchial kingdoms.
Those so-called heroes had become the elites of the new world. Among them were the descendants of his enemies: his friends, allies, the royal bloodlines, and even the Divine Church. All of them had turned against him.
They had killed him.
They had slaughtered her kind.
And now, they thrived in their so-called harmony, building a future upon the bones of the betrayed.
But not for long. Vahn would make their lives a living hell.
Soon, a twinkle in the sky caught Vahn's attention.
A grin tugged at his lips. He would finally set foot in their domain... as one of their own.
He could already imagine the fun he'd have playing them like pawns.
A glossy, white flying ship descended through the clouds, landing gracefully in a clearing amidst the forest.
It wasn't like the helicopters or airplanes from Earth. No—this was a marvel of polished mana-tech and refined clockwork engineering.
The deck shimmered under the starlight, smooth and pristine. But beneath that elegant surface pulsed the undeniable proof of this world's magical advancement.
"Welcome, Young miss!"
Vahn and Reva boarded the ship under the respectful bows of the crew members.
Without delay, the flying ship set sail.
With a refined hum, it soared through the sky, gliding effortlessly under the moonlight.
The stars served as its guide, and the ship followed the path carved in the night.
They crossed wild forests, an endless desert, and a vast ocean.
By the next afternoon, the ship arrived above a sprawling utopia.
Towering buildings of various shapes radiated magical energy, forming what appeared to be a perfect heaven for its people.
The citizens below were lively, cheerful, and immersed in their day-to-day lives.
But Vahn couldn't stand the sight.
They built this utopia over his dead body—and hers.
He wouldn't let it remain standing forever. Time was the only thing stopping him from making their lives miserable.
Until then, he would blend into their society... and wait.
The ship landed gently on a wide, lush garden, where a few maids stood ready to greet them.
Whoosh!
Before they could step down, a burly military man appeared in a blur, arriving almost as if through teleportation.
Vahn instantly tensed. That speed wasn't normal, it was almost as fast as a short-range warp spell.
And he recognized the man instantly.
Draven Northschild. B-rank Hero. Lieutenant Colonel of the Viridian Rapid Action Battalion (VRAB).
A man known for single-handedly crushing an entire enemy battalion without wielding a weapon.
Vahn knew he'd have to tread carefully around him, maintaining the act of cowardly, weak-willed Davis as always.
"My little princess, where have you been all this time? Your mother and I were so worried!" Draven's voice dropped into a childish tone, his eyes filled with obsessive care as he looked at Reva.
This man might be a lion on the battlefield, but in front of his daughter, he turns into a house cat.
"Cut it out already, Dad. I'm not a kid anymore," Reva said, annoyed, as she landed on the ground gracefully.
Vahn followed closely behind, keeping up his meek demeanor.
Draven chuckled at his daughter's fiery nature. "Haha.. You'll always be my little girl, no matter how much you grow up."
Then, his gaze shifted naturally to (Vahn) Davis and his smile faded.
His brows creased into a deep frown.
"This one again?" Draven muttered to himself, clearly unimpressed. "Still clinging to my daughter's side, I see."
"But wait, why does he look… different?"
Reva rolled her eyes at him.
"Dad, my boyfriend has a name, in case you've forgotten. And as for the physical change, he went through a training camp with me. He took a Super Serum to boost his health. His 2nd awakening is in a week, remember?" she explained, just as Vahn had planned beforehand.
Draven mocked, raising an eyebrow:
"Super Serum? Training camp? What's wrong with this chicken all of a sudden?"
"Dad!" Reva shouted, fuming.
On the other hand, Vahn met Draven's eyes with a subtle twitch of nervousness. He lowered his gaze slightly and bowed.
"G-Good afternoon, Lieutenant Colonel Northchild, sir," Vahn said in a quiet, almost trembling voice.
Draven remained unimpressed.
He said, "Look at him, still acting like a coward. What was the point of all that training and wasting a Super Serum on him? If he doesn't even have the courage to stand up to evil, how can he ever be worthy of becoming a Hero?"
Hearing the conversation, the maids lowered their heads even further, a faint trace of fear in their expressions.
None of them were ordinary. And they knew better than to underestimate Davis. He was one of the sole heirs of the Hades Group—a well known mercenary organization with ties to the Royal Family.
"Huh? What's with all this noise all of a sudden?"
Suddenly a sweet, graceful voice drifted from the entrance of the house.
At the sight of the woman, Reva's eyes lit up.
"Mom! Look at Dad, being rude to my boyfriend again. Can you please stop him?"
