The chime sounds from the door but I'm focused on finishing the last piece of my project. I finish just in time to look up and see Addy leaning against my desk. I smile at him and he takes my hand and kisses it . "I need to discuss our visit to my grandfather before the gala. Let's eat here" he says as he lifts up a bag of take out in his hand . I lower the music open the blinds to the windows and go sit in front of the windows with Addy. Addy hands my a Chinese take out box w lo mein and chop stixs and I dig in .
"I've talked to my grandfather already and he said we spotless come over tonight after work . What do you think?"
"That should be fine but shouldn't I change before meeting him ?"
"Don't worry about that." He hands me a bag from Channel.
"You think of everything ." I smile at him
"When you finish today, get changed and call me when you're done."
"Ok babe" I tell him as I shove more noodles in my mouth. I look up and see him watching me. "Is something on my face?" I ask.
"No I just enjoy looking at your beautiful face" he says smiling at me. I blush red at his words. Suddenly Addison's phone rings and after a short convo he hangs up. "I have to go but finish lunch cutie and I'll see you later." He bends down n kisses my cheek and leaves me to my lunch . Once I'm done I go back to work .
I've just stepped into my private bathroom in the office and change into the cute black and white dress . And put back on my red bottoms. Adjust my hair and reapply some make up and text Addy I'll be done in 5 minutes. I leave the bathroom to turn off everything for the day in the office . Just as I turn to leave the chime rings and Addy is in my door way. I take his hand as we exit to the car that awaits us outside.
We arrive at his grandfathers estate and my mouth drops the place is enormous. We enter hand in hand and are showed to a drawing room to wait. I sit next to Addy on a love seat and the silence is making me anxious. An older gentleman comes in with the same ocean eyes as Addy. This must be his grandfather. We get up and he shakes his grandfathers hand " it's good to see you Nono"
"I'm glad you could make it Addison" his grandpa says. He looks at me next and he takes my hand and looks me up and down and kisses my hand. I smile at him , " it's nice to meet you sir."
"You must be Aurora. He never mentioned how pretty you were." He says to me and I blush . He sits in the arm chair across from us . "Let's get down to business. Addison you already know the terms in order for you to be the next chairman. Since your father has declined the offer saying he's happy where he is. It will fall to either you or your cousin." Grandfather says.
"Aurora let me fill you in if I do not get married I forfeit my right to the company." Addy explains to me.
"I get that but aren't be moving to fast? It's been like a week or 2 and we are talking marriage already?" I ask nervously .
He takes my hand hands in his, "I know I'm asking a lot of you but my grandfather has his terms if I want to succeed." Addy tells me.
"What exactly do I get for agreeing ? As much as I enjoy every moment with you , me going from girlfriend to finance in a few days time seems like a lot and a commitment."
His grandfather replies, " if you agree to the terms of a 2 year marriage once the contract is over you walk away with 2 million dollars. It's then your decision if you stay or not after that. There is one more thing, he can only be with you for that time period. If he steps out of those terms even once your contract is void and he will lose his spot as a candidate."
"What if I wanted to stay or wound up pregnant after the 2 years?"
"You technically would be free to do as you please. But if you ever wound up having Addison's child and didn't want to be with him we would give you and the child everything you would need."
"As much as I'd like to say yes, this is a big commitment I'd like some time to think it over."
"You have a month to announce your engagement. If you do not within that time period I will personally find a new candidate weather or not he agrees. And you will not be permitted to be together"
This is absolutely insane. I have fucking 30 days?! Not even or I lose him? What the fuck did I get myself into.
