Chapter 92 - Chapter 58: Sparks of the Forgotten

The union of the embers lit a pulse across the landscape—subtle, but undeniable. Far in the distance, towers that had long lain dormant flickered with light, and trees that had ceased flowering bloomed once more in pale flame-colored blossoms. The land remembered.

Ember stood in the circle of Skykeepers, the merged flame within her now layered, deeper than before. It didn't simply burn. It harmonized—a song reborn, note by ancient note.

Kaelen stepped closer, his voice low. "That… wasn't just a ritual ember, was it?"

"No," Ember said. "It was a seed. Part of something whole. There are more out there, scattered, hidden. Pieces of the Flame still alive."

The Skykeeper leader nodded. "Seven sparks were hidden after the Shattering. One was entrusted to us. The others were cast far—to protect them from the Circle, and from those who would seek power without purpose."

Lysra crossed her arms, wary. "And now we find them? That's our next step?"

"Not just find them," Ember said. "Unite them. With each one, the Flame becomes more than a weapon. It becomes what it was always meant to be—a bridge. A guide. A chance to remember."

The Skykeeper handed Ember a weathered map etched on serpent-hide, its edges curled with age. "This shows where the other sparks were last known. But the land has changed. Time has swallowed much."

Ember traced the lines. One location shone clearer than the others: Veldrin Hollow, deep within the Shrouded Fen—a place where time didn't flow normally, and even memory bent under the weight of forgotten magic.

She felt the Flame stir again. That one is calling.

Ember turned to her allies. "Veldrin Hollow is where we go next."

Kaelen raised an eyebrow. "Into the Fen? That place eats legends."

"Then it'll remember us well," she replied, a rare smile flickering.

The Skykeeper placed a hand on her shoulder. "The sparks you seek are guarded. Not all by friends. Some by the very ones who burned the old world. Beware the Echo-born. They remember… but they are not kind."

Ember nodded. "Let them remember. So do I."

And with that, the path ahead was set—not just toward the next ember, but toward a reawakening of all that was nearly lost.

The Flame would burn again.

And this time, it would burn with purpose.
