Chapter 91 - Conflict

He Chuan said with a forced smile, "Do you feel sorry for him?" Can't bear to hear others say no to him? Cheng Hui, how come I didn't know you were so protective of your child?

"He Chuan, did you take the wrong medicine? This is my business anyway. I didn't let you get involved. Don't comment either." She finished speaking in one breath and then gasped for breath, feeling dizzy and dispirited. On the other hand, she was also annoyed by He Chuan.

She glanced over and saw that the ashtray on the table was filled with cigarette butts, densely packed. She had no idea exactly how many he had smoked.

Cheng Hui's heart softened and he said, "Don't you care about your life anymore? You smoke so much and aren't afraid of getting lung cancer."

He Chuan's hand holding the cigarette froze for a moment, then lost in thought. "I thought you only had someone else in your heart."

Cheng Hui was completely confused and couldn't tell the deeper chill in his words. He said, "Anyway, don't scold him. If there's anything, come at me."

He Chuan was so angry that he laughed.

Cheng Hui had a headache and staggered, leaning against the wall, to the kitchen to look for water to drink.

Kagawa got up from the sofa and followed into the kitchen as well.

Cheng Hui drank a cup of water to quench his thirst. Just as he was about to turn around, he felt a warm chest pressing against his back. Above his head came He Chuan's voice, saying, "Pour me a cup."

"Oh." Cheng Hui obediently followed the instructions.

Handing him the water cup, he wasn't in a hurry to take it. Cheng Hui stood aside for a moment and said, "Aren't you drinking water?"

"Drink." He Chuan lowered his eyes to glance at her, took the water cup unhurriedly and put it aside again.

You don't drink and then tell me to pour. She remained calm and distanced herself a little, saying, "It's a waste of expression."

He Chuan was silent for a moment. He turned his face sideways to watch her make a gesture as if she were about to run away. He reached out and grabbed her arm, pulling it into his arms. His hand naturally clasped around her shoulder blade, and his fingers pressed hard, confining her completely in his arms.

Cheng Hui froze in an instant, not daring to move, and whispered, "What are you doing?"

Even though they often played around and had physical contact, it was only on their shoulders and arms. There was no hugging or holding hands. He had always kept his distance from her and never crossed the line.

There was a strong smell of smoke on him. Although it wasn't stinky, it was pungent. She wasn't used to it and felt very uncomfortable all over.

He Chuan said, "Don't move, Little Huihui. Let me hold you for a while."

"Brother Kagawa, I can't breathe..." Her voice was like that of a mosquito. It was clearly her who had drunk alcohol, but why did He Chuan look like he had?

He Chuan let go of her hand and gazed at her face. The scattered light above her head formed a soft circle of light, never so gentle before. The corners of her eyes were still red, and it was obvious that she had been crying very hard just now, but it was for someone else's sad crying and even getting drunk.

She also called him Brother He Chuan. He gave a brief laugh and regained his voice, "There won't be a next time."

He Chuan pinched her cheek and exerted force. She frowned in pain and patted his hand.

Did you hear that? "From now on, you can't drink alcohol either. If I catch you again, do you know how to write 'death'?"

Cheng Hui returned to her room in a daze and lay down. There was a strong smell of alcohol on her body. After taking a closer sniff, there was also a hint of smoke, which had been left behind by He Chuan when he had just carried her.

Her mind went blank. She tossed and turned all night unable to sleep and had a headache.

Early the next morning, He Chuan saw her home. She sat quietly in the passenger seat, not saying a word. Occasionally, she would look down at her phone, her fingers rapidly typing something on it. He Chuan's gaze swept over her, and she immediately turned off the screen, clearly not wanting to show it to him.

When she reached her doorstep, Cheng Hui couldn't wait to unfasten her seat belt and get out of the car, but He Chuan hadn't unlocked it, so she couldn't open the car door.

"Unlock it. If you don't unlock it, I can't get out of the car."

He Chuan rested his hand on the steering wheel, his fingers tapping back and forth. After a while, he said, "Do you like that person called Tang Que?" Does he have an elder sister named Tang Huaihuai?

Cheng Hui was like a cat with frayed fur and hurriedly said, "Did you find someone to look into him?"

He Chuan smiled but said nothing.

"Don't check him. Stay away from him!"

He Chuan's gaze fell on her face and asked, "Why?"

"There's no reason. If it's not allowed, it's not allowed. This is my own business. You mustn't interfere!"

He Chuan's expression darkened, terrifyingly gloomy.

Cheng Hui dared not speak and held his neck.

With a click, the sound of the lock being unlocked. Cheng Hui bit his lip, opened the car door and got out.

As soon as she got out of the car and closed the door, He Chuan immediately drove away without looking back.

Cheng Hui couldn't help but grumble and curse, "Stingy you, you have such a big temper. Why are you angry? I'm not angry yet."

Tang Que rejected her. For no reason, He Chuan was angry at her again. She felt extremely unlucky. Indeed, no man is a good thing, especially He Chuan. He only bullied her, was fierce with her, and kicked her around like a ball.

She thought of Tang Que again, this person, from now on.

...

The text message Xin Gan sent to Cheng Jiu fell into disarray and didn't receive a reply for a week.

She then took the initiative to call him, but Cheng Jiu's phone was always turned off and she couldn't get in touch with him.

Perhaps he has some actions that need to be kept confidential and it's not convenient for him to carry a mobile phone.

That can only be brought up when he comes back.

On the day Mrs. Cheng was discharged from the hospital, He Chuan came and Cheng Hui was there too.

Xin Gan had originally planned to come, but Mrs. Cheng specially called her in advance to tell her not to come and that someone would come to pick her up, so that Xin Gan didn't have to worry. Mrs. Cheng felt embarrassed to have her run back and forth. On the other hand, she was also worried about her. It was so hot that she was afraid she might get heatstroke running back and forth.

Cheng Hui was not in high spirits. Although she sweetly coaxed Mrs. Cheng with her mouth, she kept her eyes away from He Chuan, remaining calm and keeping a distance from him. As soon as He Chuan came over, she would step back, pretending to look around at the scenery but not at him.

Mrs. Cheng was not blind. She noticed something was wrong. As soon as He Chuan went to handle the discharge procedures, she immediately put on a stern face and educated her, "Cheng Hui, what are you causing again?" He Chuan came to help. If you ignore him, that's fine. Why didn't you call him? What? What trouble are you causing again?

Cheng Hui, of course, couldn't be honest with Mrs. Cheng. She pretended as if nothing had happened and shrugged her shoulders, saying, "It's nothing. I'm not paying any attention to him anymore. Haven't I always been like this?"

Do you think your little trick can be concealed from me? You must have caused trouble again. Be honest.

Cheng Hui was too lazy to defend himself and said with little interest, "It's nothing. I didn't do anything."

Mrs. Cheng couldn't get a clear answer. Just then, He Chuan had completed the discharge procedures and returned to the ward. He helped carry the luggage and said, "Let's go."

He Chuan helped push Mrs. Cheng's wheelchair. Mrs. Cheng's foot injury had not yet healed and she still couldn't walk. Cheng Hui walked at the very back as if avoiding someone, slowly and hesitating.

He Chuan took her little gesture for granted and said nothing.

Mrs. Cheng was sitting in the back seat and had difficulty walking. So Mrs. Cheng asked her to go back to the passenger seat.

Cheng Hui had no choice but to refuse. She obediently got into the passenger seat and, by chance, caught sight of He Chuan's profile. He didn't look at her either. Feeling guilty, she immediately turned her gaze away.

All along the way, it was only Mrs. Cheng and He Chuan chatting briefly. Cheng Hui lowered his head to play with his mobile phone, trying his best to reduce his presence.

Lady Cheng just regarded Cheng Hui as throwing a tantrum and behaving like a child, and didn't say anything to her.

After getting home, the nanny of the Cheng family came out and pushed Mrs. Cheng into the room first, saying, "Come back, come back. Why don't you say thank you to He Chuan yet? Why are you still throwing a tantrum-like tantrum-making?"

"Thank you, Brother Kagawa." Cheng Hui was fidgety and didn't look at He Chuan either.

Perhaps because Mrs. Cheng was present, He Chuan's expression was still normal. He said gently, "You're welcome."

Huihui has really been spoiled by you. Mrs. Cheng, with a smile on her face, scolded Cheng Hui, "Hechuan, come inside and have a cup of tea. It's so hot."

Cheng Hui gave He Chuan a vigilant look, only hoping that he wouldn't agree. But He Chuan insisted on going against her and nodded with a smile, saying yes.

Cheng Hui was speechless.
