Do you want to learn "Moon Goddess"?
[YES] – [NO]
Kaizen's hand trembled slightly as he hovered over the YES option. The blood on his blade was still warm. The corpses of the old man and the little boy lay behind him—stark reminders of the choices he had made tonight. His heart beat like a war drum, rapid and deafening in his ears.
Still, he pressed YES.
A rush of cold air seemed to pass through him, and the system interface glowed softly in the darkness.

Kaizen stood in silence.
The book on the table no longer glowed. Its purpose was fulfilled, now just ink and parchment once again.
The corpses still bled onto the tatami mat. The boy's tears hadn't even dried on his cheeks before he'd died. Kaizen didn't want to look, but he did—because he had to. Because he needed to remember what this world would demand of him.
The Sharingan.
The boy had awakened it in his final moments, tears and trauma sparking the Uchiha gift. Kaizen crouched beside the body and, with grim efficiency, removed both eyes and placed them into a sealed vial inside his mini bag.
"I hope I can make use of this…" he muttered to himself, almost as if asking forgiveness.
Then he stood and looked around the small room.
There were signs that this had been a normal home. A wooden toy lay in the corner. A teacup still sat with warm remnants on a low table. All of it was now bathed in death.
I shouldn't be here anymore, he thought. This whole place will be crawling with Uchiha soon.
Outside, the shouts continued. More footsteps. More angry voices. The full weight of the Uchiha Clan was stirring. And he was still in their nest.
He opened the door a crack. Ten, no—at least twenty shinobi were combing the area. They'd found the first bodies by now. It wouldn't take them long.
