Cherreads

Chapter 8 - Danger.

Caleb had a smirk on his face.

At first, he could have said that the previous Caleb was a complete idiot, but the latter turned out to be quite useful in the end.

His memories, at least.

Caleb was a huge fan of good magazine covers—ones with beautiful ladies... and that was where Naya came in. Caleb admired Naya Lucy; he followed her on all her social media accounts.

It was also partly why he urged Gideon to follow him to that particular college.

Naya was indeed a queen in the industry. No one could resist her icy charm; it almost felt as though there was something magical about her beauty.

Thanks to this, though, Caleb also discovered that MJ Fashion House was looking for a male model for Naya's next cover.

When he saw her in a sore mood, he thought, 'What else could leave her so deep in her thoughts?'

And from the look on her face, it seemed he was right.

"Well, I'm a huge fan of your work."

"Huge fan?" Naya looked at him suspiciously.

"Even so, does that sound like something you can help me with?" Naya asked, taking a sip of her wine seductively. She leaned back on the sofa, crossing her legs.

"I'm handsome, so I guess that's enough to have my face on the camera," Caleb said with a grin.

"The confidence... What makes you think you're handsome?"

"Well, you haven't said that I'm not."

Naya chuckled.

"Good. Mind joining me? Let's talk about being my partner for the cover," Naya asked.

Caleb raised a brow. Now it was his turn to be suspicious.

"Seriously?"

"Do I look like I'm joking?" Naya stood, her expression calm.

'Hell, she definitely can't be that easy!' Caleb thought, his heart skipping a beat.

"You don't expect me to talk business so casually in the open, do you?"

Her words made sense. Since it was an important matter, they couldn't discuss it in public.

He maintained a calm composure.

"Alright then," he replied, rising as well.

She led the way, heading toward one of the exclusive rooms in the building.

Her guards followed behind them.

She stopped in front of the door.

"Hey, go pay for the room to the cashier," she said calmly to one of her guards. "You stay here so no one enters," Naya commanded, her voice laced with its usual icy tone.

The guards obeyed without hesitation.

"Come in," Naya said, gesturing Caleb into the room.

Caleb stepped in confidently.

It was a modest space, quite small compared to his at home, but still comfortable.

Of course, the purpose wasn't for sleeping overnight—the space was just suitable enough for several forms of exploration.

The neon bulb overhead bathed the room in its soft blue hue.

By the side of the table, there was a long counter and a chair.

And in the center stood a moderately sized bed—ideal for practice.

Caleb took the seat, letting Naya settle on the bed.

"So I'll tell you what's bothering me... I guess sharing the problem is really a nice idea." Naya sighed.

"Of course, I'm all ears..." Caleb said. Things were going much more smoothly than he had expected.

"You're right. The MJ company is indeed searching for a male model to match with me... Or at least they were."

"Oh, so you mean they've already found someone?" Caleb asked calmly.

He had already expected it.

'It would have been strange if they couldn't find a male model to take the position. With her level, that should have been easy.'

"Yes, they've already found someone," Naya said, letting out another frustrated sigh, her eyes glowing with a deadly glare. The mere thought of the said person annoyed her.

'I guessed as much. The problem isn't finding the person. It's whether Naya would want to work with him... With her personality, she definitely won't be the type to get along with just anyone... But this is good for me. I can seize the opportunity... Become her co-partner for her next cover!'

It seemed everything was already set in motion; he just had to proceed calmly.

'I shouldn't sound desperate,' he reminded himself.

"I see... Then that means you simply don't wish to work with this person?"

"Yes, I don't want to work with him..." Naya scoffed, turning her head away.

"Why, though? If you don't mind, can I know who that person is?"

Naya looked at Caleb, her icy gaze locking with his.

"Is it important that you know the person?"

"No, but I'm curious. Who could be that bad?"

"Just a stubborn pest who thinks he can get whatever he wants... But I'm definitely not going to bend for someone like that," Naya said confidently, drawing a deep breath.

She turned her gaze to Caleb.

"You seem interested to work for me... How good do you think you are?"

Caleb smirked.

"Good enough?"

"Is that so?" Naya asked, pulling the sleeves of her gown slightly, revealing her snow-white skin.

Caleb stared, wide-eyed.

'For real?' He couldn't believe his eyes.

Naya rose from the bed, walking closer until there was barely any space between them.

The sweet scent of vanilla filled the air as she approached.

"You interest me... I suddenly realized that I know almost nothing about you... So I'm intrigued. I want to know everything."

Her icy cold gaze softened, replaced by deep curiosity.

Caleb could see it in her eyes.

"Well, I'm here. You can ask whatever you want,"

Caleb said calmly. He had been in similar situations several times in his past life.

"And if I ask, you're sure I would get my answer?" Naya traced her slender fingers over his face.

Her touch was soft against his skin.

"Of course, you'll get whatever you need... assuming it's something I can say..."

Naya studied him for a second.

"Your answer doesn't satisfy me," she said, her voice dropping an octave—cold and predatory.

In a flash—so fast that Caleb couldn't react—

A dagger appeared from nowhere.

And before he could even blink, he felt it... the cold edge, pressing against his dick.

"Now tell me, are you from Group X... No, what card do you have?"
