Chapter 14 - Making The Necessary Decisions

As Alex ate his lunch, he thought of how the paper trading is going to go. He knew that it will be a success. But how successful? He has no idea. He will have to wait and see.

Alex still couldn't take his mind off Jiffy. With the specialised knowledge under the primary knowledge branch, [Financial Mathematics], he has created something that will revolutionise the world of finance, and will help him to lay foundation for the future he intends to create.

As for his family and them taking him back, Alex had thought about it and he had decided that if he's to be called back, he will answer the call in respect, but he won't be going back to the family.

His reason for this is because he doesn't have any emotional attachment to them, and from what he understands about them, one is only valuable if they are useful. And Alex don't want to be used by anyone.

Also, the amount of hatred and the burning rage that the previous Alex has towards them, won't allow him to.

Alex sighed, as he tried to distract himself from thinking about the crazy family he has reincarnated into.

He quickly finished with his lunch and just when he was about to stand up, and make his way to the study, to get back to work, Natalie came to tell him that someone was at the gate, looking for him.

"Who?"

"A young woman," she said. "She says her name is... Serina."

Alex paused for a moment. He quickly recognised the name and immediately put a face to it. The young lady is one of Alex's girlfriends and she's his favourite girl at that.

She's smart, sultry and addictive. She was the kind of woman who could say nothing and still make men fall to their knees.

The old Alex had spent more time with her than any of the others. Private dinners. Trips. Nights of endless debauchery. She was the only one who had ever gotten a full week's exclusive access to him.

He smiled as he understood what was happening. He was about to tell Natalie to send Serina away, but he remembered and changed his mind, telling Natalie to let her in.

Alex knew what was happening. He knew that the ladies had probably had a meeting and delegated on who will come and check up on him, as he hasn't talked to them in over two months.

And Alex was grateful for this, because he will finally achieve what he has had in mind since he learned of the previous Alex's harem.

Alex won't be taking up what he will call the sweet burden left behind by his new body original owner.

He won't take over the harem. He will be cutting them off and that's why he's allowing Serina in, so that he can pass the information to her and she can tell the harem committee when she gets back.

A few moments later, Serina walked into the living area where Alex was waiting.

She looked around briefly and froze when she spotted him.

"Alex?" she whispered, blinking.

She took a step forward, almost confused.

"Alex, is that really you?"

She wanted to confirm that she wasn't seeing wrong.

Alex met her gaze and gave a soft nod.

"It's me."

Serina's eyes widened. The chaotic, narcissistic, late-waking devil of pleasure looking Alex was gone.

The man in front of her sat tall, clean and there's an undeniable quiet, and powerful aura about him.

His skin was clear, his posture precise, his body slightly larger and sharper at the edges.

His silver eyes, once dulled by hangovers and sleepless lust, now glowed with something she couldn't name.

The Alex in front of her looks like he's in control. And that made him even hotter. She can't wake to see just how much he will wreck her inside, with the changes he has experienced.

Serina smiled, as she stepped forward and sat beside him.

She reached for Alex's hand to hold it, but Alex subtly moved his hand away.

Serina noticed this but didn't say anything, but she was curious.

"I felt that the reason why you didn't pick out calls, returned them or replied any of our messages in the last two months is because you were busy with something personal. And I was right."

"You look so hot right now and it's making me wet," she whispered.

She was expecting a reaction from Alex, but she got nothing.

"You know... I understand that you were improving yourself and everything, but it would had been great if you had picked your call at least once, and let us know what was happening. We were very worried about you," she said, her face filled with concern.

Alex sighed. What Serina had just said has made it slightly difficult for him for him to say what he had in mind, but he will still say it all the same.

He understood that the previous Alex's harem loves him and care for them deeply. But the truth is that Alex had never felt anything for them. He felt bsolutely nothing for them—except lust.

This was something that Alex had come to learn as he continued to dive deeper into the memories left behind by the original body's owner. This was something he does before going to bed each night.

To the previous Alex, the ladies in his life are nothing more than sources and outlets for his sexual needs. Their only use is to satisfy him sexually.

In other words, they are nothing more than cock sleeves.

Alex has no idea why the original body's owner will feel this way towards such beautiful women, but it's none of his concern, as he also feels nothing for the ladies and doesn't want to get entangled with them.

But Alex can understand some of the original body's owner thought towards women, as some and most of them are either married women, those in relationship, or some that are about to get married. But they are all cheating on their partners with him.

This isn't something that Alex can continue. It would had been different if they had left their husbands, fiancees and boyfriends for the previous Alex, but they didn't.

Alex sighed and looked at the Serina directly in her eyes.

"Serina, there's something I need to say."

Her smile faded slightly.

He looked her in the eyes.

"I'm done," Alex said.

She blinked in confusion.

"What do you mean?"

"I'm done with everything. I will be cutting off communications with all of you and I don't want anymore messages from any of you. Don't call and don't send any message. Especially nudes. Stop sending them."

"I also want you to pass this message to everyone. They shouldn't send any nude or I will block them. And I don't want to see anyone coming to visit. You won't be allowed through the gate."

"I'm not the same person you used to know," Alex said quietly, his voice firm but not unkind.

Serina looked at Alex, with her confused eyes searching his face. She couldn't understand where everything he's saying is coming from.

"What do you mean by that? You just… disappeared. No explanation—nothing. And now, you're telling us not to contact you? Did we do anything wrong? If we did anything wrong, let me know and we will apologise and make it up to you."

"Serina, I never owe any of you one," he replied, leaning back slightly.

"And you guys didn't do anything wrong. I'm the one that's changed and no longer interested in the kind of lifestyle I used to lead before."

Serina's brows furrowed.

"Alex… don't do this. After everything we shared—"

He shook his head before she could finish.

"You didn't share anything with me. None of you did. There were no feelings. No connection. Just pleasure. Temporary, fleeting pleasure."

She flinched, as if his words had struck her.

"I never loved you," Alex continued, his tone even but unrelenting. "I never loved any of you. You saw me as a fantasy. A thrill. A man who existed to make your nights unforgettable. But I'm not that man anymore. That version of me is gone."

There was a long silence.

"You can't mean that," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

"I do." He met her eyes. "So stop looking for him. Don't text. Don't call. Don't wait. This is goodbye."

Alex stood up from the couch and Serina rose with him, her eyes wide with disbelief, glassy with unshed emotion.

Before he could take a step toward the door, her hand shot out and grabbed his arm.

"Please," she said, her voice trembling. "Just tell me this isn't final. That you need time. That you'll call. Anything."

Alex paused. He looked down at her hand on his arm and he reached down, and removed it gently.

"I'm sorry," he said. "But it is final."

She shook her head slowly, lips parting in quiet desperation.

He held her gaze for a moment longer, then added, "I truly wish you all the best.

After saying that, Alex walked away, making his way to the study, without bothering to look back to see the Serina's reaction.

He has closed that chapter of his life and he won't look back at it ever. Now, it's time for the real test run of his first creation.
