"Sir, according to your schedule today, you are supposed to visit Stark Tower this afternoon to meet with Tony Stark."
"If you don't plan to change your schedule, it's about time to head out now."
"Traffic will peak soon, and it'll be hard to get through."
After organizing his current tasks, a secretary-like figure knocked on the door and reminded Nick Fury.
Nick Fury stood up: "Coulson, do as I instructed."
"Understood, Sir!" Coulson nodded and walked out of Nick Fury's office.
Nick Fury then headed to the parking lot, drove to Stark Tower, and rang the doorbell.
"Sir! Someone is visiting."
The AI J.A.R.V.I.S. immediately alerted Iron Man.
"I'm not seeing anyone."
Iron Man didn't even look away from the various documents floating in front of him, still focused on them while replying to J.A.R.V.I.S..
"Werewolves, vampires, aliens... I can't believe there are so many extraordinary beings in this world."
Iron Man occasionally murmured such astonished words.
The supernatural data collected by J.A.R.V.I.S. had truly opened a new door for Tony Stark, allowing him to understand the truth of this world.
To be honest, after creating the Iron Man suit and declaring himself Iron Man, Tony Stark had gotten a little too full of himself.
He thought that, wearing the Iron Man suit, he was some kind of god, standing at the peak of the world, untouchable.
But now, Iron Man realized how foolish he had been.
He had been like a frog in a well, not understanding how vast the world truly was.
"Tony, what are you doing?"
Just as Iron Man was engrossed in his documents, he was suddenly interrupted by Pepper Potts.
And she wasn't alone—she had brought along a bald-headed man with her.
The bald man had one eye covered with an eye patch, clearly not looking like a good person.
Iron Man abruptly waved his hand, and the floating documents around him quickly vanished. He then stood up.
"Our Iron Man enjoys reading mythology stories, that's quite unexpected," Nick Fury said with hidden meaning. Although Iron Man had closed the documents quickly, Nick Fury had caught a glimpse of some things.
Among those were some mythological figures that were well-known in America, which Nick Fury immediately recognized.
Nick Fury understood. It seemed like Iron Man, just like him, was probably conducting some research due to that quiz system.
"Sorry, may I ask who you are?"
Iron Man asked with a hint of annoyance, looking at Nick Fury.
"Tony, he's the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Coulson's boss..." Pepper Potts explained to Iron Man.
This was the reason why Pepper Potts hadn't consulted Iron Man beforehand and had directly brought Nick Fury to meet him.
The reason was simple—this man was important.
"You're Nick Fury!" Iron Man exclaimed, suddenly realizing. He looked Nick Fury up and down and scoffed, "You don't look like much of a big shot."
"Compared to Iron Man, of course, I'm not much of a big shot," Nick Fury said with a faint sneer, walking towards Iron Man.
"'I am Iron Man,' you really think you're a superhero? Mr. Stark, there are many people in this world just like you!"
Had this been before, Iron Man would have scoffed and been dismissive, but now, for the first time, he didn't argue.
Because Iron Man had just learned the truth of the world, and he realized he had been too arrogant before.
"Nick Fury, why are you here?" Iron Man asked, looking at Nick Fury seriously.
Nick Fury didn't respond immediately. He just gave Pepper Potts a glance.
Pepper Potts immediately understood, shrugging her shoulders: "Tony, I just remembered, I still have a document I forgot to sign."
With that, Pepper Potts left, giving Iron Man and Nick Fury some space.
"Tony Stark, I'm here to talk to you about joining the Avengers," Nick Fury said, sitting down casually on the couch as if it were his own home.
The Avengers?
Iron Man's mind immediately raced. He suddenly remembered the last question of the quiz system.
That question asked about who the spiritual leader of the Avengers was. Originally, he had subconsciously thought the Avengers referred to the Earth Alliance, but now, could it be that this was the AvengersNick Fury was talking about?
"Go on," Iron Man said after thinking for a moment.
"I thought you'd be more difficult to deal with," Nick Fury said, slightly surprised. Iron Man's temper was much better than he had heard.
Previously, Nick Fury had expected Iron Man to show a look of disdain, uninterested in listening.
"As I said, this world isn't as simple as it seems. There are many extraordinary powers."
"To deal with these potential supernatural threats, I plan to form a team, a special team."
"More precisely, a team composed of people with unique abilities like you," Nick Fury directly stated his purpose.
"I agree!" Iron Man hesitated for a moment before happily agreeing.
After learning the truth of the world, Iron Man actually wanted to meet other extraordinary beings.
Nick Fury was momentarily stunned. He didn't expect things to go so smoothly. The arguments he had prepared to persuade Iron Man were never used.
Now, Iron Man's behavior was somewhat inconsistent with his usual mode of operation.
"Could it be... because of that quiz system?"
Nick Fury quickly guessed this, thinking that it was probably the quiz system that had changed Iron Man's attitude.
"Mr. Stark, you don't need to answer right now. I can give you time to think it over," Nick Fury said, casually leaning back with his legs crossed.
"I've already made up my mind," Iron Man said firmly, then asked eagerly, "So who else is in our alliance? Is there a Hulk, or someone wearing a cape and mastering magic?"
"Mr. Stark, thank you for your support and cooperation. You'll know the answers to those questions once you officially join the Avengers," Nick Fury replied calmly.
Then he changed the subject and suddenly added, "Now, let's talk about that quiz system."
