After eating dinner, both Alicia and Sir Alfred retired for the night. Alicia, who was unable to sleep at first, slowly closed her eyes and slept. Suddenly, at midnight, she screamed so loud that Sir Alfred woke up, thinking an assassin had intruded his place. When he barged into Alicia's room, he saw that little girl, pale and crying uncontrollably. He sat on her bed and tried to calm her down while asking what had happened.
Alicia, sobbing, replied,
"Uncle... Uncle..... I... I... saw Mom and Dad. Their lips were blue, their skin was pale and white, they were completely covered in blood.... just like.... just like that day...." Alicia cries very hard.
Sir Alfred thought,
{"Poor girl. She had to see all that bloodshed and watch her parents die while she couldn't do anything. The one person she trusted next to her parents is now the person who wants her dead. No matter the brave front she put on before, she is still a 10-year-old girl. She has to go through all of this at a tender age of 10! But I have to do something. Think, Alfred, what would Commander do at this time? Yes, I got it."}
Sir Alfred, towards Alicia, who was still sobbing, said,
"Princess, let us go to the places in the capital, where your parents loved to go before they got married."
Alicia, with a hint of confusion, agreed to it. They both got up and about, and while they were leaving, Sir Alfred glanced at Alicia, whose pink hair was noticeable through the cloak. Sir Alfred leaned and fixed her cloak. Alicia, who was depressed all day, smiled a little.
At first, they both went to the night market. Alicia was amazed by the dazzling lights of the Capital at night. She was astonished to see the goods of foreign kingdoms, sword battles, and apprentice mages performing their magic. She laughed for the first time in a while.
Then, Sir Alfred took her up on small hill by the Capital. When they reached the top of the hill, Alicia saw a view that she could never forget in her life. It was the view of the capital, magnificent and colorful lights all over the place. Little Alicia was speechless.
Sir Alfred said,
" Princess, now look back."
As Alicia looked back, she saw some insects flickering lights, all over a lake. She sighed,
"Wow!! Uncle, what are those insects?"
Sir Alfred replied,
" Princess, those insects are called fireflies. The commander once said that he took his wife to this place on their first date. Now, Princess, even though they are not with us, let us keep their memories with us forever..."
Little Alicia nodded with a bit of a cry. Then, they both made their way back home.
