In the world of Enlightened, there are 5 recognized ranks of power that signify a being's growth and mastery:
1. *Seeker*: The starting point for those beginning their journey.
2. *Initiate*: A stage of initial growth and learning.
3. *Master*: A level of expertise and control over one's abilities.
4. *Grandmaster*: A high rank indicating advanced skill and understanding.
5. *Champion*: The pinnacle of achievement, representing exceptional power and mastery.
In contrast, the Defiled ranks represent a descent into darkness and corruption, with 7 recognized levels:
1. *Beast*: A primal, bestial state marked by loss of control.
2. *Monster*: A stage of increasing corruption and malevolence.
3. *Abomination*: A being consumed by darkness, feared and reviled.
4. *Deviant*: A rank marked by twisted desires and corrupted power.
5. *Tyrant*: A level of dominance and control through fear and oppression.
6. *Jin*: A stage of immense, often malevolent power.
7. *Demon*: The lowest, most corrupted rank, representing complete descent into darkness.
Some experts propose that these two paths - Enlightened and Defiled - parallel each other in a twisted mirror-like reflection. According to this theory, each Enlightened rank has a corresponding Defiled rank, representing a similar level of power or influence, but with vastly different moral and philosophical implications. This parallel structure suggests that the journey towards mastery and the descent into darkness may be more intertwined than initially thought.
