Chapter 56 - The Beast and the Divine Blade

As Raphael's warning echoed in his mind, Sion wasted no time. His body surged with urgency as he teleported straight to the forest. The atmosphere grew tense—thick with darkness that felt ancient and malicious. Even Sion, despite all his power, was overwhelmed by the sheer aura emanating from within.

"Raphael!" he shouted. "Create a barrier—seal the area. No one must come near this place."

"Understood!" Raphael responded, casting a massive invisible ward around the forest. He layered it with sound- and sight-canceling enchantments so no ordinary citizen could perceive the chaos unfolding within.

The ground trembled violently.

Then, it appeared.

A two-headed beast—half demon, half human—emerged from the broken remnants of the magical seal. The air warped around it. Pure malice radiated from its body, suffocating and cold. Just standing still, it released an aura that could kill thousands.

Sion made the first move. With incredible speed, he launched a high-level fire spell at the creature—one that could incinerate mountains.

It did nothing.

Realizing brute force wouldn't work, he unleashed his divine aura, enveloping his sword with sacred light. He slashed, but the creature remained untouched.

Sion was using 40% of his true power. Still nothing.

The beast vanished. In a blink, it reappeared behind Sion and delivered a crushing punch. Sion flew through the air, blood trailing behind him.

Mid-air, he stabilized, flaring his aura even more.

Now was the time. He decided to test his newly-developed magic—a spell born of both divine and ancient knowledge.

He charged.

But the beast responded, opening both mouths, firing twin magical flares straight at him. He raised his sword to block—but it shattered.

The flares hit.

Sion crashed to the ground, coughing blood, barely conscious.

Raphael panicked. "Sion!" He rushed forward, casting rapid healing magic to stabilize him.

"You have to finish this now!" Raphael urged.

"I'm trying…" Sion muttered, rising with difficulty.

He gathered every ounce of remaining divine energy and whispered the name of his new magic—a secret he had kept even from Raphael.

"Elyndros: Judgment of the Celestial Flame."

The sky cracked. A massive glyph appeared above the forest, summoning a colossal spear of golden fire infused with divine law and cosmic energy. Sion hurled it toward the beast.

The impact was catastrophic. A silence followed the flash.

When the light faded, the beast was gone—completely vaporized. No remains. No residue.

Sion dropped to one knee, completely drained.

Far away, under the cover of trees, a cloaked figure had been watching the entire time. A dark, sinister smile played on his lips.

"So, this is the one chosen by the gods," he whispered. "Interesting. I look forward to the day we meet... Sion."

With that, the shadowy figure vanished into the night.
