Chapter 24 - Three Unifications Arc Chapter 4: Gene World

Then demons appeared, gods too, and other unrecognizable monsters, all tearing into each other. It seemed gods and dragons were allied, while demons joined the other creatures. These demons differed from those I knew—most had two horns on their foreheads, green eyes. As the factions clashed, a group of towering, mighty humans emerged, nearly six meters tall. Their arrival forced the demons to retreat.

Centuries seemed to pass. The demons returned, their devastating magic obliterating the planet. Dragons fled their homeland—some used teleportation magic, others flew through the skies. They traveled endlessly, passing countless planets. Some settled along the way; the rest reached a beautiful world. I looked—Earth? No mistake, with that round moon.

Later, humans appeared, leaping thirty or forty meters, some flying with swords. Dragons and humans lived harmoniously, battling natural disasters together, intermarrying, and thriving. But Earth's upheavals killed them. Nature's power dwarfed humanity's strength. I wanted to scream, "Run!" but seeing those children, I was speechless. Miraculously, survivors endured, developing advanced technology over eons. Then came countless aliens, warring relentlessly. Earth's structures crumbled under firepower, civilization regressing to primal times. After a long dinosaur era, humans rose again.

Watching this, I felt I'd grasped something, but couldn't pin it down. Was this humanity's—no, the Chinese nation's—prehistoric civilization? Or had Flying Dragon Star's weirdness sparked my imagination? Don't they say daytime thoughts fuel nighttime dreams?

As this played like a movie, I grew exhausted and slept again. Flying Dragon Star's people, hearing of Emperor Feitian's critical illness, prayed daily. Military districts and legions stood vigilant, Wudu under tightest guard. Over a year since my collapse, my muscles no longer needed energy infusions. I lay serene in life-sustaining fluid (a biotech mimic of the "Source of Life," less potent but effective for restoring stamina, preventing severe patients like me from [REDACTED] due to energy depletion).

Xue'er, Shasha, and the kids stood in the room, gazing at me in the fluid, faces etched with sorrow. "Brother Tian, Sister, the babies, and I came to see you. They're adorable, starting preschool now, so naughty. You'd be thrilled to see them. Brother, Kitty wants to have your baby too. Okay?" Little Kitty was no longer the naive girl, matured overnight. Seeing her haggard face, Xue'er hugged her, pained. "Kitty, you haven't slept in three days. If Feitian woke, he'd ache for you."

"Yeah, Brother loved hugging me, tickling my tail," Little Kitty said, lost in memories. "Kitty, don't," the wives sobbed, unable to bear it. They recalled Feitian's kindness, his "naughty" hands roaming their bodies. Wake up, and we'll agree to anything.

"Mommy, why's Daddy always sleeping? Shishi, Sister, and Brother talk to him daily, but he ignores us. Daddy's a big meanie, making Mommy and Aunties cry every time," Shishi said innocently, tugging Shasha's skirt.

Shasha lifted her daughter. "Your daddy's a meanie, always worrying us. But he's a good daddy, making toys for Shishi. When he wakes, he'll make more, okay?" she said, tears falling.

"Good! And make Daddy kneel on a washboard for making Mommy cry," Shishi said, wiping her mother's tears.

"Gods, wake up, and I'll ask for nothing. Tian, do you hear?"

In my coma, I knew none of this. Over the year, massive energy infusions had fortified my body, now dozens of times stronger.

In the demon realm, the demon king sat on his throne. "From human realm reports, you know Makino's been bedridden a year, still comatose. It's our best chance to attack. Opinions?"

"Great, time for revenge!" "Let our demon soldiers crush the human realm!" some ministers cheered, victory seemingly at hand. The king eyed the silent Four Demon Generals. "Your thoughts?"

"I advise against it. The god clan's still reinforcing on our land," Trank said. Even Yuri, usually his rival, stayed quiet—agreement by his nature. The king, surprised, sought Yuri's view. "Majesty, though Makino's ill, their army's intact. A year ago, they prepped to retaliate but paused due to his condition. Attacking now pits our weakness against their strength. Plus, the god clan's here. We must expel them first to avoid a two-front war," Yuri explained.

"Hit the humans off-guard, win fast, problem solved," a war-untested civil official shouted. "Ridiculous. Think humans are still weak? Their old men wield swords now. Losing a battle's not your fault, but ignorance of the enemy is, especially overhyping ourselves and downplaying them," Lalan retorted, stunning the room. The official, red-faced, pointed at Lalan, speechless.

"Majesty, we must secure our home before fighting abroad. Forget the god clan—how do we move our armies? Don't say unseal the portal. Humans aren't dumb; they'd guard it. Even if unsealed, their cannons would shred us. This debate's pointless," Lang Wuyu, the usually silent general, said, implicitly chiding the king for dreaming of victory without logistics. The king, knowing his generals' bluntness, admitted his complacency. "General Lang's right. Let's plan to expel the god clan," he said awkwardly, redirecting the hall to strategize against the "vile" god clan, reclaiming land and women.

In the god realm, the god king addressed his angels. "Our war with demons has dragged over a year, with minor wins and losses. This can't continue. Though our populations are similar, demons use beastmen—cow and snake clans—as vanguards. Their elite, minus the 200,000 lost in the human realm, haven't moved. Prolonged fighting means a pyrrhic victory. Any ideas for a quick, decisive win?"

"The human emperor's been ill a year. Demons won't miss this chance for revenge. We strike them from behind then—they'll be too stretched," an intelligence angel suggested.

"Interesting. Prepare for both scenarios. Coordinators, have plans ready," the god king ordered.

My consciousness finally stirred. I tried speaking—no strength. Moving my hand—nothing. Even opening my eyes was a struggle. A fluffy, jasmine-scented tail brushed my face. Only my adorable Little Kitty would do this. If it were Kapo or Little Moth, their tails would crush me.

"Brother, you loved me doing this. See, no mosquitoes dare come. With me here, they're toast," Little Kitty said, sweeping my face with her tail, then kissing my forehead softly. "Brother, what should we name our kids? Boy or girl?" Her voice hid heartbreak, her tail still smacking my face like when we first met. Kitty, this isn't chasing mosquitoes—it's worse! But I couldn't speak or move, so I let her be. When I'm up, I'll have you in bed, heh—no begging for mercy.

Priority: restore stamina and spirit. I focused, circulating energy. Gods, my mind moved, and both upper and lower dantians activated! Inner vision showed the Baihui acupoint where both forces fused perfectly. My true qi wasn't just qi anymore, nor was mental energy mere magic. I dubbed it "Heavenly Dragon True Qi" for old times' sake. This thick, milky-white qi flowed from the lower dantian to Baihui, followed mental energy's path to the upper dantian, then back to Baihui, completing a cycle to the lower dantian. With each cycle, my mental field reflected my surroundings in my mind. I'd unwittingly mastered a wuxia "divine sense."

Little Kitty sat beside me, chin on hand, staring at two butterflies outside, lost in memories of our Dragon Island days. I opened my mouth, catching her tail as it fell. Her tail tip's a sensitive spot—she noticed instantly. She turned slowly, afraid of more heartbreak, but saw her beloved rogue blinking starry eyes, flashing his familiar "naughty" grin, sucking her tail. Waves of sensation hit her. A year's worry and pain erupted—she dove into my arms, sobbing. "You jerk, you're awake! I thought you'd abandon Kitty!"

"Who said that? The classics wanted to steal my Kitty, but I'd never let you go," I teased, patting her shoulder. (Per the classics: "Who rewrote my chapter? I was set to debut and take it all!") "Look, you've soaked my clothes," I said, stroking her hair fondly.

"I don't care, I'm staying like this!" she pouted. "Fine, fine. Kitty, you mentioned naming kids—when did you get pregnant?" I asked, puzzled. "You're awful, bullying me right after waking. No wonder Shishi calls you a bad daddy," she said, blushing.

Hearing Shishi and the others, I missed them fiercely, like I'd lived through worlds apart. "Kitty, how long was I out?" I asked, holding her. "Days?" She stared, incredulous. "A year, two months, and eight days." "What?" I thought days, not over a year.

"Tian, you're awake!" Xue'er burst in, disbelieving, then dove into my arms like Kitty, kissing me wildly. I felt her intense longing. As the eldest wife, she bore the heaviest burden, caring for me, her sisters, and the kids. "Xue'er, you've thinned. I've wronged you. I swear, never again," I said, returning her passion. What is love, but a vow to live and die together?

"Tian, those words are enough. Knowing you love me, I'd wait till the end of time," Xue'er said, nestling happily. "Brother, me too!" Little Kitty blushed. "Kids or my super kiss?" I teased. "Sister, he's awful! I don't care, I'm taking it!" Kitty said, pouncing like a tyrant, kissing me without consent. I savored her warm tongue, returning their selfless love.

"Brother!" Kitty sobbed again, clinging to my neck. I knew my life wasn't just mine anymore—it was for my beloved family and friends who supported and blessed me.
