Thalira's pupils dilated. She inwardly groaned; here comes another trouble! The old one was enough of a headache and now she stumbled on the younger one.
"May I know what kind of business you have with the owner?" Thalira asked. She really didn't like how this man was eyeing her from head to toe, even though he had done that discreetly.
Daniel cleared his throat and told her, "My family is quite interested in this supermarket, but when we confirmed our interest in buying it, the owner suddenly said that it's been sold."
She frowned. Her heartbeat quickened when she noticed two familiar thugs among four people in the distance. They were walking toward their place. Definitely, those people were up to no good.
"I am not sure." Thalira shook her head. "I am just a worker here."
Then she hurriedly excused herself, clutching the business operation records of the supermarket in her hand. Daniel tried to stop her, but she rushed faster and soon, he lost sight of her.
After she considered that she was far enough, she heaved a sigh of relief. Her hand was itching to make that person bald, and if stayed any longer, she was scared she would make that a reality! What a pervert!
Upon arriving at her dormitory, Thalira grinned when she checked her space ring, finding the neatly arranged store shelves filled with snacks and all kinds of drinks. It filled her with satisfaction.
Next… she withdrew her mental power and took out the supermarket's business operation records. There were many contacts of the suppliers there.
She immediately contacted them one by one, starting with the most essential items. Staple foods, which means all kinds of grains.
"Hello." Thalira called out in a sweet tone at the person on the other side. "This is from Whitstone Market. Do you still have any supply of grains available?"
"Whitstone Market?" A male voice asked in hesitation. "Are you going to open again for business?"
He checked for the number and frowned when he found that it wasn't the supermarket's usual number.
"Yes, I am the new owner." Thalira's answer dispelled some of the man's suspicions, but not entirely, which was understandable. Anyone would be suspicious if they found an unknown number claiming to be the new owner of a closed supermarket like that.
"If you are not sure, you can call the previous owner just to confirm it. Just mention my name, Thalira Eleoness," She told him.
The man confirmed that he was going to call the previous owner and cut the call. A few minutes later, he was back and his tone became more polite. "Do you want to order grain from us, Miss Thalira?"
"Yes, I want to order a lot of it." Thalira smiled, then began to list all the grains on her small note, "30 tons of rice, 5 tons of wheat, 5 tons of corn…"
After she finished, she heard the other party take a deep breath. "Miss, this is a large amount. Do you really need it?"
"Yes." Thalira confirmed without hesitation. "Do you have it?"
"Actually, there isn't that much in our stock…" The man faltered. Before he could continue further, Thalira cut him off. "I have the money. Just calculate the amount required."
"Alright." He suppressed his doubts and began to calculate it. "It will be five million points, Miss. However, it's really true that we need to wait for supplies from other warehouses."
"Send me your bank account details," Thalira muttered without hesitation.
"Ah?" The man was dumbfounded, but then he numbly recited their bank account details.
Like a rich person, Thalira informed him, "I already transferred half of the money. Send whatever is available in your warehouse to Whitstone Market first. Then calculate the rest you need to send."
The man checked the account, and his eyes widened. He became more sincere when dealing with her, his tone excited. "Of course, Miss Thalira. I will prepare to send our available supplies tomorrow."
"If you have more supplies than that, just inform me, whatever kind of grain it is. I will give you a five point bonus for each kilogram you send." She ended the phone call after ordering, very satisfied.
After that, she made countless phone calls to each supplier that day. Picking the essential things first like cooking oils, salt, sugar, canned meats and fruits, and dried fruit. She considered bottled waters, but she wasn't sure that the supermarket could hold those inside yet.
Let's just order those after she finished with this round. Just like earlier, she convinced those people with money. Of course, she wasn't so stupid to let them run away with the money like that. She made sure to record all their transactions with another phone and they also sent her the receipt and invoice.
Thus, day one, Thalira was busy with some trucks going to her supermarket, delivering things. For the next three days, the trucks kept going in. Even at night, some still worked hard to move things, making Thalira unable to put items in her space rings.
"Thank you." Thalira smiled at the workers sent along by those suppliers, and she even gave them a bonus.
For the next month, Thalira was busy with filling in her space rings. Luckily, the location of the supermarket was rather secluded, at the outskirts of the city.
Daniel also never came again. Perhaps he had found that the supermarket had relation to the Brown family. It was not worth it to quibble over such a small building, after all.
In the first half of the month, she ordered all kinds of staple foods, bottled water, and medical supplies–medicines, sanitary pads, and bandages. Since she loved being clean, she also got a decent amount of hygiene items like soaps, shampoo, and toothpaste.
She considered her cooking skills as fine, so she included cooking utensils. Some clothing stores have also been emptied by her. Of course, she didn't forget some basic tools like flashlights, gloves, and can opener.
After living as a human for a month, she found it troublesome. They have such a long list of necessities. Thalira sighed quietly, but that didn't stop her from working hard. It was better to suffer now than later.
The time in the space rings was stagnant, so she didn't forget to stock some delicious food.
In total, she had squandered more than a hundred and fifty million points just for those major necessities.
She had just acquired the money from Mr. Brown, who looked at her with weird eyes.
"You still keep on selling those things. How many supermarkets do you need?" Mr. Brown shook his head, but his curled lips betrayed his cheerful mood.
Thalira only responded ambiguously. Her mind was on something else after she saw the amount in her bank account.
For the next half month, what should she buy? Thalira thought about means of transportation like cars and its fuels. She directly bought some reliable and sturdy cars, totaling more than a hundred.
She thought about her wood ability and decided to get her hands on all the seeds in the city. When she unlocked more areas in her inner world, she should be able to plant them.
For comfort, she added many blankets and beddings. Recently, she found out with relish it was really comfortable to roll on the fur blanket in her cat form. Her long, snow-white tail was very thick, even bigger than her cat body, but was just as soft as those blankets.
In the past month, Thalira was so busy that she didn't have time to meet anyone. After she bought so many things, she was considering buying weapons. For this matter, she could only think of Austin, because the Brown family was in the military.
Thus, she contacted Austin, and he agreed to meet. Better to talk about such a thing face to face. She might also need to give a hint about the incoming apocalypse to him, but how….?
There were two young men walking ahead of her, heading in the same direction. She was startled to fright when one of the pale men in front of her suddenly jumped and bit the other man.
"What are you doing? Are you crazy?!"
