Chapter 16 - Bewilderment, Destruction

Sean could not help but raise his brows slightly upon hearing that. He had only brought up this, hoping that Matthew might help him in finding someone who would be the manager of the coffee shop. He had no anticipated that Matthew already had someone in mind.

"Can you send me the information about him? I will give you the email where you will send it." Sean said.

"Sure, no problem." Matthew responded. He continued standing there, watching as Sean went through the information, before finally putting the file away.

"When can he come over? That is if I ask him to come over tomorrow, can he make it?" Sean asked.

"Yes, it is possible. That guy is within this city, so, even if you want to meet him today, he can make it." Matthew responded.

Sean nodded at that, before finally walking out of the office. Matthew followed behind him, and just after they got out of the office, Matthew clapped his hand.

Currently, the number of customers within the coffee shop was low, with only four people inside. And right now, all of them had been served, so, the baristas were free.

The moment that Matthew clapped, all the employees of the coffee shop rushed over. In total, there were six employees. This seemed to be a large number considering the size of the shop, but Sean was okay with that.

"The coffee shop has changed owners, and this gentleman beside me is the new owner, meaning your new boss. He will decide on what will happen next." Matthew introduced Sean.

The moment that he said that, the group of employees could not help but start whispering among themselves, as they gazed at Sean. Even though Sean had changed his clothes, he still did not look like someone from a big background.

They were wondering who he was, and how he was able to acquire the coffee shop. Or maybe was it that he had been given the coffee shop by the previous owner?

Sean did not care about what this group of people was whispering, he just went ahead and said, "Today, nothing is going to change, and maybe that is going to be the case for the following week. Today since it is on a Friday, I will give you one week, I would like to observe how you work within one week. After that, I will decide on the changes that will need to be made."

Sean's statement immediately led the group to feel relieved. They had thought that Sean might end up laying all of them off, and it was quite difficult for someone to be able to find a legitimate job within this city.

Considering that Sean had said that nothing was going to change, they decided that they were going to be in their best behavior during the following week, to make sure that they were not laid off.

Immediately after saying those words, Sean turned and looked at Matthew and said, "I have something else that I need to attend to. Can you help me with dealing with the shop for today, and I will inform you about the person that you have recommended after you send me the information to my email."

Matthew immediately agreed, and Sean sent him his email. After that, he walked out of the coffee shop, with Matthew following behind him.

Just after Sean had gotten out of the coffee shop, Nixon came over. He handed over the key to the car, before asking Sean to go over and look at the car that had been brought over.

At this moment, the trailer that brought over the car had already been driven off, leaving behind the Toyota Camry hybrid. The Camry was black in color, and Sean immediately loved its appearance.

While this was not the first time that Sean was seeing such a car, it was the first car that he ever owed. And right now, he did not even know the price of this car.

Considering his financial situation, he did not even bother to look at the prices of the cars that he met online, as he understood that it would be impossible for him to acquire the car at that time.

One could say that a person could look and admire cars even without money, but Sean did not want to live in such a fantasy. It was just that he had never anticipated that he was going to receive a car like this from the system. Additionally, he did not make any purchase of the car, he just needed to buy clothes.

Sean approached the car, opened the door, before getting in. Due to possession of the basic driving skills, Sean was not a stranger to driving a car. In fact, he even had a driving right license, as during the time that he was in college, he understood the importance of versatility.

The car was brand new, and the feeling of grabbing the steering wheel was exhilarating. After taking deep breath, Sean started the car, before driving. This was a test ride, and after reaching around about that was located not far from where he was, he made a tan, before returning to the starting point.

He then got out of the car, looked at Nixon and said, "The car is good."

Even though he had not tried out everything that he could using his skills, just that simple driving had already told him that this car was okay. The mileage was also 2 km, indicating that it had been tested out before being brought over.

"That's good. We will be on our way away now, as there are some things that we need to take care of." Nixon said with a smile.

"That's okay." Sean responded as he nodded.

"If you ever need a car, you can just make a call. The number that I used to call you is my personal number, so if you call, you will be able to get to me directly." Nixon said, and seeing Sean nodding, he led the group of three into a car that was parked not far away.

The three got into the car, before driving away. And immediately after that, Sean finally noticed the commotion around.

He could see that Matthew was still standing at the entrance of the coffee shop, gazing at him. The employees were also slightly surprised, wondering about his background.

They bought new that that group of people had come over, obviously being members of Swiftline car dealership. That was the best car dealership in the city, and not just anyone within the city could meet them.

And right now, they had actually come over to deliver a car, and from the way that they were speaking to Sean, it was clear that they were respectful of him. This made them to start wondering about Sean's actual background.

That was especially for Matthew. Even though he did not say anything, he seemed to be in contemplation.

Sean did not want to continue wasting time, and decided to get into the car, before driving back home first. The tank of the car had been filled, and he did not need to go to the fuel station.

Considering the location that he was in, there was not that much traffic jam, and so, Sean began accelerating. And in just a few moments, he had disappeared from the area of the coffee shop.

But as he continued driving, he had no other choice but to slow down slightly, considering that the condition of the road in this part of the city was bad. The maintenance by the city authorities was quite lax, with many potholes on the road.

Regardless, about 20 minutes later, Sean finally arrived in front of his family's grocery store. The moment that he got there, he realized that it seemed that something had happened here.

Currently, both of his parents were cleaning up, meaning that things had been destroyed here. Sean could not help but frown, as he wanted what had happened. After all, previously, he had already left the money that needed to be paid to the loan sharks, so, he doubted that they were the ones that came to cause trouble if they had been paid.

The arrival of the car immediately drew the attention of the couple, together with a few people around. And when Sean got out of the car, the eyes of the observers immediately widened.

Some even rubbed their eyes, clearly not believing that it was Sean that was coming out of that car. As for his parents, they were all looking at him with bewilderment clear on their faces.

Initially in a good mood, Sean did not bother to smile, as he approached his parents. He asked, "Dad, mom, what happened here?"

Sean's question brought the couple out of their stupor, as they finally reacted. Instead of answering the question that Sean had asked, Abigail asked, "Son, whose car is that?"

"Yes, where did you get that car? Don't tell me that you have borrowed it. If you end up knocking it somewhere, we might not be able to afford the price of repairing it." Michael spoke from the side as well.

Understanding that it would be impossible for his parents to tell him what had happened here unless he dealt with the issue of the car, Sean decided to respond.

"Let's talk inside." As he said those words, he led the way into the grocery store. Currently, the grocery store had been closed, as the couple was still cleaning up.

But Michael and Abigail, even though bewildered, still followed Sean into the grocery store. The moment that they got in, Abigail could not hold it in anymore and asked, "Son, can you tell us, did you borrow the car?"
