Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: "The Heavenly Principles' Throne Is Yours!"

"Congratulations, you are now the first individual to equip three gold-tier cards," Lu Heng said with a smile.

Although Neuvillette also had three gold-tier cards equipped, his case was special—he belonged to an organizational faction, not an individual.

Thus, Furina was truly the first to equip three gold-tier cards as an individual.

"Hehe."

At this, Furina couldn't help but feel a little proud.

She glanced at the unidentified gold-tier card on the table and said, "Maybe it'll soon be four!"

"True enough."

Lu Heng chuckled. "Let me see what this one's about."

"Please let it be a strong card, preferably not like Abyssal Maw..." Furina muttered a prayer.

It seemed that Abyssal Maw had left a somewhat unpleasant impression on her.

As Lu Heng picked up the gold-tier card, he remarked, "Actually, Abyssal Maw isn't that bad. You might not like it, but others might."

Furina pondered this. Of course, such a card wasn't useless. She personally didn't care for it, but it could be added to the collective system for others to use.

Lu Heng's gaze fell on the card's surface.

On it was depicted a winged coin with a cross etched into its center.

Lu Heng rubbed his eyes.

Why did this look so familiar?

Had he used something like this in the Ruins of Giant City?

[Revival Coin × 1]

[Tier]: 5th Tier · Gold

[Type]: [Item Card]

[Traits]: [Revival] [Passive]

[Description]: After selecting a target, this item card can be used to revive the target and restore their HP to 100%. If equipped, this card will automatically activate upon the user's death.

This time, Lu Heng didn't need to explain—Furina understood just how precious this card was.

It was essentially an extra life!

Watching Furina solemnly tuck the card away, Lu Heng fell into thought.

Would this card be used on Focalors?

The moment this idea crossed his mind, Lu Heng felt it was unlikely.

Not because Furina wouldn't want to revive Focalors, but because Focalors might not even die!

With his arrival and the emergence of the card system, fate had undoubtedly undergone drastic changes.

Where the future would lead, Lu Heng couldn't say for sure.

When the time came, it was entirely possible that Focalors could relinquish part of the ancient dragon's authority from the divine throne without needing to perish.

Not to mention the Throne of the Primordial God from earlier.

If Furina wielded the Will of the King skillfully, a smooth transition of power wasn't out of the question.

"Having an extra life makes everything feel so much safer," Furina said cheerfully.

"Still, it's best to stay cautious," Lu Heng replied with a wry smile.

"Of course. My life is precious—I'll definitely cherish it," Furina nodded.

She cupped her hands and blew into them. "Now then... will the next draw be another gold?"

Lu Heng made no comment.

When Furina tapped the draw button, nothing special happened.

But she refused to accept it.

After exhausting all her remaining draws, Furina finally conceded.

"Only two gold-tier cards in 50,000 draws?"

Compared to the three gold-tier cards from her previous 30,000 draws, she felt her luck today was lacking.

"One Throne of the Primordial God is worth more than two or three ordinary gold-tier cards," Lu Heng pointed out.

"That's true."

Furina nodded. "People should learn to be content."

"Don't spout nonsense—you're the least content person I know," Lu Heng shook his head.

"That's not what you think!"

Furina huffed.

She summoned her giant white teddy bear and was about to have it carry a pile of cards to dismantle when she suddenly paused.

"Wait, I should sort through them first. The decent ones can go to the collective system—they shouldn't all be dismantled."

"Oh? Gaining some awareness now?" Lu Heng raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"I've always been very aware!"

Furina busied herself with the task.

Lu Heng sat nearby and helped review the cards.

For those below the 4th tier, half could be assessed at a glance, so the process was efficient.

Soon, the giant teddy bear was carrying stacks of cards to dismantle.

Furina's equipment device's experience bar steadily climbed.

By six o'clock, Furina personally tossed a 4th-tier card into the dismantling machine.

Crunch, crunch.

The card dissolved into pure energy and merged into the equipment device.

The experience bar reached 100%!

"5th-tier equipment device, here I come!"

With a flash, Furina's equipment device transformed from gold to platinum.

At first glance, the color resembled silver, but the platinum device was far more refined, exuding an air of luxury.

"Congratulations, first user of a 5th-tier equipment device," Lu Heng said with a smile. "Let me explain: a 4th-tier equipment device allows nine card slots, with the special effects being increased lifespan and mental protection—preventing soul erosion. The 5th-tier equipment device adds three more slots, further extends lifespan, and introduces a new special effect: Same-Tier Resonance."

"Same-Tier Resonance?"

Lu Heng nodded. "The most basic Same-Tier Resonance requires three cards of the same tier. Activating it boosts the effects of those cards by 10%!"

"So it encourages using more cards of the same tier?" Furina asked.

"That's the idea," Lu Heng confirmed.

Furina examined her equipment device.

She hadn't kept Elemental Resonance equipped, so her current setup was three gold-tier cards.

These three activated Same-Tier Resonance, meaning any one of them used would have its effects boosted by 10%—though the Revival Coin wouldn't benefit from this.

The remaining 4th-tier cards didn't qualify for 5th-tier resonance but could activate their own 4th-tier resonance.

Coincidentally, she had five purple-tier cards equipped, triggering a secondary resonance effect for 4th-tier cards, which was quite useful.

Furina then glanced at her unequipped cards.

After a moment's thought, she finalized her deck.

A 5th-tier equipment device had twelve slots.

Her first (and hidden) setup was: 4 gold, 8 purple!

Her second (public) setup was: 3 gold, 9 purple!

Compared to the first, the second setup added an extra layer of 4th-tier resonance, but it wasn't particularly useful—after all, the sacrificed slot was a 5th-tier card!

"What level of strength does this put me at now?" Furina asked.

"You've entered 5th-tier territory."

Lu Heng thought for a moment. "Do you know Morax?"

"Of course!"

Furina nodded, then gripped the edge of the table excitedly. "Don't tell me I've reached his level?!"

"It's not even nighttime yet—don't start dreaming so early."

"Your equipment device has only just reached 5th-tier."

Lu Heng shook his head. "If you replaced Insight Eye and Revival Coin with offensive or defensive gold-tier cards, you could give Morax a run for his money."

"Gasp!"

Furina clenched her fists, pacing back and forth with unrestrained joy.

Morax of Liyue was the oldest archon in the world, and his strength was undeniable.

And now, with just a swap of two support cards for offensive or defensive ones, she could hold her own against him!

Just two days ago, she had been an ordinary human!

"And if, on top of what you just said, my equipment device's experience bar was maxed out?!"

"Then the Heavenly Principles might as well hand over their seat. With Throne of the Primordial God activated, you'd be the ruler of the world."

"Oho~!"

Furina was so elated she could barely contain herself.
