Chapter 24 - The Serpent Strikes Back

The grand halls of the mansion felt colder with Zayan gone. Nora kept to herself, cleaning quietly, avoiding drama — or trying to. But peace was never meant to last in a house filled with secrets.

Three days after Zayan left, she returned — perfectly styled, smug as ever, wearing that same taunting smile.

"You think because he kissed you, you matter now?" the girl sneered one morning, cornering Nora in the west wing hallway. "Let me tell you something — you're just a phase. A game. He always comes back to me."

Nora didn't flinch. "If that were true, you wouldn't be this angry."

The girl's expression twisted. "You don't belong here. And if Zayan won't see it, I'll make sure you're out before he returns."

And just like that, the games began again.

Nora's uniforms were shredded. Her room flooded mysteriously. Her phone disappeared, only to be returned with strange messages sent from it.

But this time, Nora didn't cry.

She smiled.

Because she had learned something from Zayan's last words — "When you're ready…"

And she was getting ready.

Ready to fight back.
