Chapter Fourteen: The Legendary Scrap
Kenshin Yogen perched on a rooftop, his Rokugan slicing through the chaos of Konoha's arena with surgical precision. Below, Orochimaru's Sound ninja wove through the panicked crowd, their chakra signatures flickering like fading embers. The air thrummed with tension as the Four Violet Flames Formation surged skyward, its purple flames sealing the rooftop where Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, stood unyielding.
Kenshin's lips twisted into a grin. Time for an entrance to steal the show.
He leaned back, mind racing through strategies. Orochimaru had Hiruzen pinned, serpentine chakra coiling tight, and the barrier was nearly complete. Kenshin craved a spectacle—something to rattle the Hokage and that snake Sannin to their bones.
His fingers grazed his face, Chakra Morph Jutsu flowing. Bones stretched, muscles reshaped, molding him into a taller, sharper version of himself, mid-twenties, with jet-black hair styled in Madara Uchiha's iconic cascade. He smirked, running a hand through it. Perfect.
A chakra surge from the rooftop snapped his focus back. Orochimaru's voice slithered, summoning Edo Tensei. Three coffins burst from the tiles, one failing to rise, leaving two to creak open, revealing the First and Second Hokages. Kenshin's Observation Haki pinged, registering the dense, unnatural chakra of the undead Kages.
Showtime.
He locked onto Hiruzen's chakra—bright, steady, a bonfire cutting through the barrier's haze. With a thought, Instant Transmission blurred the world, teleporting him inside the Four Violet Flames Formation. The flames' heat prickled his skin, but he landed with a smooth click of boots on rooftop tiles.
Kenshin straightened, voice laced with playful menace. "Hello, Lord First, Second, and Third, as well as the legendary member of the Sannin."
Orochimaru's head tilted, tongue flicking like a serpent tasting the air. "And who might you be?"
Hiruzen's eyes narrowed, grip tightening on Enma's staff-form.
"Something tells me you did not invite him, Sensei," Orochimaru said, voice gruff but steady.
Kenshin's grin widened. The Hokages' chakra swirled with tension—Hashirama's warm and earthy, Tobirama's razor-sharp, Hiruzen's weathered yet fierce. Orochimaru's slimy aura crawled over his senses, but Kenshin shoved it aside. Time to stir the pot.
"Sorry for interrupting, but I heard this was the gathering of master and students, I just had to crash it." He clapped, Boogie Woogie shimmering, swapping places with Orochimaru in a blink. One moment, he stood at the group's edge; the next, he was behind Hashirama and Tobirama, Orochimaru displaced to Kenshin's former spot.
His Rokugan tracked Orochimaru's reaction—slit pupils widening, tongue flicking. "Sorry again, but I would like them to have sentience when they fight their beloved Saru," Kenshin added, tone dripping with mock apology.
Orochimaru's lips curled, voice low and intrigued. "Interesting, what an interesting technique, space-time is it?"
Kenshin felt Tobirama's chakra shift, cold and edged. The Second Hokage's gaze sharpened. "It seems just like my Flying Raijin," Tobirama said, voice calm but probing.
Kenshin chuckled, folding his arms. "It does indeed, I think mine's better by the way."
Hashirama's laugh boomed, warm and genuine, slicing through the tension. "Haha, looks like you've got competition, brother."
Tobirama's chakra spiked, a cold jolt prickling Kenshin's Observation Haki. "Hmph," the Second Hokage huffed, irritation seeping through.
Kenshin's gaze locked on Hashirama, the First's broad frame radiating quiet strength. "Ahh, the First Hokage, the template for the rival I so desperately search for," he said, voice dipping into mock despair, hand clutching his chest theatrically.
Hashirama pulsed with amusement, head tilting toward Tobirama. "Heh," he chuckled, voice warm and curious. "What does he mean, hehehe?"
Tobirama's hand rose to his forehead, a sharp exhale escaping as fingers pressed against his brow. "He's looking for a rival as strong as you," Tobirama said, tone dry, "and also probably a nod to you having or being a strong rival, which then begs the question of who he tagged your rival."
Kenshin's eyes gleamed, voice dropping to reverent cadence. "It pains me so how you've forgotten of your great rival Madara Uchiha, together your tales created legends that still ring till this day, oh legendary God of Shinobi, Hashirama Senju."
He swept into a theatrical bow, Madara-mimicked hair falling over his eyes. Rising, his expression hardened, playfulness giving way to intensity. "I would like to test that splendor for myself, to battle the man who fought and killed Madara Uchiha, even though your abilities have been reduced by the lack of expertise of the caster of this wonderful jutsu, we can still have a little fun."
Tobirama's eyes narrowed, chakra coiling like a drawn blade. "Is that your goal, to fight my brother?" he asked, voice low and probing.
Kenshin's Rokugan caught Orochimaru's tongue flicking, slit pupils glinting with curiosity. "It should be more surprising that he knows of the intricate mechanics of the Edo Tensei," Orochimaru said, voice smooth as venom, directed at Hiruzen. "Your security measures sure are lacking, Sensei."
Kenshin's grin stretched wider, heart pounding with euphoria. He spread his arms, voice rising with glee. "This is what I love for, the thrill of not knowing how to deal with an unknown factor, the tension from once wanting to kill your Sensei, all targeted at me. Now, will you join hands to face me, or will you make it a free-for-all?"
Tobirama's posture shifted, aligning closer to Hiruzen's. The Second Hokage stepped forward, gaze cold and calculating. "You seem more troublesome than the young man here," he said, nodding toward Orochimaru, "and seeing as you have stopped him from sealing our consciousness and turning us into battle machines, it would seem the better choice to join Saru in defeating the two of you."
Kenshin's Observation Haki pinged as Hashirama flanked Hiruzen, their chakras syncing defensively. Hiruzen's staff—Enma—glinted, his stance rigid, poised to strike.
Kenshin's voice slithered, laced with mock reluctance. "It seems you have no choice but to work with them, Orochimaru-sama. I definitely wouldn't want to participate in this fight alone."
"Then it would be better if I sit it out, wouldn't it?" Orochimaru replied, retreating slightly, testing the waters.
Kenshin's playful mood sharpened, patience thinning. "No, no, no, that's not ideal," he said, voice firm. "It seems I have to make you all take me seriously."
He flared his chakra, a torrent that hummed through the air, pressing against the barrier's flames. The rooftop quaked under his aura, Rokugan glowing faintly, daring them to move.
Orochimaru's chakra snapped back, coiling tight as he tensed, eyes locking onto Kenshin. "Hehe, I guess I have no choice," he said, a predatory grin spreading as he glanced at the Hokages.
Kenshin's grin returned, body buzzing with anticipation. "That's better, ready when you are," he said, hopping foot to foot, loose and playful like Goku before a spar. His Rokugan tracked every shift—Hashirama's hands twitching toward a seal, Tobirama's subtle lean, Hiruzen's tightening grip, Orochimaru's flicking tongue.
Let's dance.
---
Hashirama's chakra surged, the rooftop groaning as Wood Release roots erupted beneath Kenshin's feet. His Soru blurred him out of reach, vines snapping inches away.
"Nice try, Lord First!" he called, landing lightly.
His Observation Haki screamed, Tobirama's chakra flaring behind him. Kenshin spun, Instant Transmission flashing him ten meters away as Water Formation Wall crashed where he'd stood.
"Fast," Kenshin muttered, Rokugan tracking Tobirama's precise chakra. The Second Hokage wove seals, chakra sharp as a blade. No Flying Thunder God yet—Orochimaru's Edo Tensei's holding him back.
Kenshin clapped, Boogie Woogie shimmering, swapping places with Hiruzen. The Third grunted, appearing in Tobirama's water torrent, Enma raised to block.
"Oops, my bad, Third!" Kenshin chuckled, now facing Hashirama.
The First Hokage's hands slammed together, Deep Forest Emergence exploding across the rooftop. Trees sprouted, branches twisting like living spears. Kenshin's Rokugan analyzed their paths.
"Let's spice this up!" He thrust a palm forward, Almighty Push shredding branches in a shockwave, splinters flying. Hashirama's chakra held firm, new trees rising.
Kenshin's Observation Haki pinged—Orochimaru's chakra slithering left. The Sannin lunged, Kusanagi blade gleaming.
"Sneaky snake!" Kenshin dodged with Soru, blade slicing air. Universal Pull yanked Orochimaru mid-lunge, Kenshin's fist slamming into his gut, shredding the Sannin's cloak. Orochimaru twisted away, landing with a hiss.
"Impressive," Orochimaru rasped, tongue flicking. "But you're outnumbered."
Kenshin's grin didn't falter. "Good! Makes it fun!"
His Rokugan caught Hiruzen's fire chakra flaring. Kenshin raised a hand, Extinguish Flames snuffing the Fire Dragon Flame Bullet mid-formation.
"Not today, old man!" he taunted, but Tobirama's water blade slashed from his blind spot.
Kenshin's Divine Hand-to-Hand Combat kicked in, twisting to parry with Playful Cloud. The staff clanged, dispersing the water, but Tobirama pressed forward, relentless.
They're syncing, Kenshin thought, SS+ Intelligence analyzing. Hashirama's trees herded him, Tobirama's water cut escape routes, Hiruzen prepped follow-ups, Orochimaru circled like a vulture. Time to go big.
---
Hashirama's Deep Forest Emergence roared again, trees surging like a cage. Kenshin's Observation Haki pinpointed Tobirama's chakra flashing behind. He clapped, Boogie Woogie swapping him with Orochimaru, who yelped as branches snared his legs. Kenshin landed near Hiruzen, ducking another Fire Dragon Flame Bullet.
"Not today, old man!" Kenshin snuffed the fire with Extinguish Flames, lunging with a spinning heel kick to Hiruzen's chest. The Third skidded back, Enma clanging, ribs cracking audibly. Hiruzen coughed, clutching his side, chakra defiant.
Tobirama's Water Formation Wall roared at Kenshin's flank. Soru blurred him away, fists hammering Tobirama's guard with Infinite Stamina—a jab to the shoulder, a knee to the gut. The Second's Edo Tensei body split, gray flesh cracking, but his chakra knitted the damage.
"Tch, durable," Kenshin muttered.
Hashirama's trees curled in, forcing Kenshin to leap. Orochimaru's Kusanagi slashed, met by Playful Cloud's ring. Universal Pull yanked the Sannin off-balance, Kenshin's palm strike sending him sprawling, blood trickling from his jaw.
"Stay down, snake," Kenshin grinned, but Orochimaru's chakra coiled, regenerating.
The group's synergy tightened—Hashirama's wood, Tobirama's water, Hiruzen's fire, Orochimaru's circling. Kenshin's Rokugan tracked every move. He clapped, Boogie Woogie swapping him with Tobirama, who took a stray branch.
"Oops!" Kenshin laughed, charging Hashirama, fists glowing with Chakra Enhanced Strength. A punch splintered the First's Edo Tensei armor, sending him crashing into a tree.
Hashirama's chakra blazed, hands weaving. Wood Dragon roared, jaws snapping. Kenshin's Observation Haki pinged, Soru closing the gap.
"Let's dance, God of Shinobi!"
His taijutsu onslaught targeted Hashirama's joints—fists, elbows, a roundhouse cracking the First's arm, Edo Tensei flesh crumbling. Hashirama summoned a Wood Clone to flank. Kenshin's Rokugan caught it, Boogie Woogie swapping him with the clone, which took his fist. Hashirama charged, but Kenshin's Chidori scorched his torso, blackening the Edo Tensei form.
"Still kicking?" Kenshin taunted, landing a Rasengan to Hashirama's chest, carving a crater. The First staggered, chakra flickering. "Madara's rival, huh? Not bad."
Orochimaru's Hidden Shadow Snake Hands lunged, serpents snapping. Kenshin's Playful Cloud smashed them, but Hashirama retreated, regenerating slowly.
Tobirama flashed in, kunai glinting. Kenshin's Observation Haki tracked him, Instant Transmission placing him behind the Second.
"Nice try, Raijin!"
His taijutsu erupted—punches laced with Chakra Enhanced Strength, a hook cracking Tobirama's jaw, a knee skidding him back. Tobirama's Water Severing Wave sliced the air. Kenshin swapped with a chakra-enhanced sword from his sealed scroll, the jet shredding it. His Rokugan flared, casting Genjutsu. Tobirama froze, trapped in a drowning illusion. Kenshin's Chidori speared his chest, electricity sizzling. The Second collapsed, chakra dimming.
"Sleep tight," Kenshin smirked.
Hiruzen's Earth Release: Mud Wall blocked Kenshin's path. Almighty Push smashed through, but Tobirama staggered up.
Orochimaru's Kusanagi thrust, parried by Playful Cloud. Kenshin's taijutsu combo landed—a knee to Orochimaru's gut, an elbow to his temple. The Sannin spat blood, dodging a Rasengan with unnatural twists. Universal Pull dragged him back, a spinning kick cracking his ribs. Orochimaru hissed, retreating, chakra wavering.
Hiruzen charged, Enma's staff swinging. Kenshin's Divine Hand-to-Hand Combat met it, a palm strike dislocating Hiruzen's shoulder. Soru dodged a Fireball, Chakra Enhanced Strength uppercut sending Hiruzen crashing into the barrier's flames, staff trembling as he slumped.
---
"Hehe, time for the finale, what say you Orochimaru-Sama," Kenshin said, grin wide but disheveled, staring at Orochimaru while glancing at the Legacy Ascension System's reward notifications flooding his vision.
